This past week, our Warriors went on the road and did what they were supposed to do and won 49-14 against the Red Devils of Pike. This win stamped a two game losing streak for our program but I'm not satisfied with things just yet.  Do you know how long it's been since our program has defeated a team with a winning record? Do you realize our team has struggled with and lost our last two regular season games against the Wildcats of Lawrence North? The same program we face off against this week.  Yes we took care of business last week against Pike but that's what we were meant to do. Any team with high aspirations and goals like ours would do just the same and MORE!!! So what steps will this team take moving forward with two more games remaining at home? A mini-rant about made up football statistics and the arm-chair quarterbacks that use them. Marc and Jake breakdown the Indianapolis Colts injury report. Jake wonders if the queen is buried yet and tells a story of a guy parking like a total jerk.   (23:12 – 26:57) – Morning Checkdown (26:58 – 41:14) –  We close out the first hour talking about the Jacksonville stadium and how teams were designed to fit into the league as expansion teams. Then talk turns to the Colts Injury report again, this time with a detailed breakdown of each individual player. Marc and Jake express their concerns over Michael Pittman Jr's move onto the injured list. (41:15 – 1:06:00) – Greg Rakestraw joins the program to talk about IHSAA football and the game he is calling tonight between Ben Davis and Warren Central. Rakestraw then gives his take on the potential of the Colts against Jacksonville given their injury woes. Then Jake and Greg go back and forth on the Ty Hilton departure from Indianapolis. Rakestraw comments on how Shaw Leonard seems like a lock for playing in Sunday's game. Talk returns to highschool sports as Jake and Rakestraw discuss Shelbyville vs. Greenfield Central later tonight.   (1:06:01 – 1:23:47) – ESPN Jacksonville's Mike DiRocco joins the show and gives us a look into the oppositions mindset for week 2. The interview starts with Jake questioning the potential of Trevor Lawrence. DiRocco then breaks down Jacksonville's game plan from an offensive perspective. He details their successes and failures against the Washington Commanders in week 1. Playing off the Colts injury talk, Jake asks about Jacksonville's depth and back up situation. What corrections can Jacksonville make on defense to help better secure a win this season. Both teams will be going all out at a second loss this season will have big impacts on their individual teams. (1:23:48 – 1:27:00) – An update on Colt's cancelled practice today. Apparently the team had two aggressive practices on Wednesday and Thursday, they will instead be having a walkthrough in place of a final Friday practice.   (1:27:02 – 1:55:30) – Voice of the Colts Matt Taylor joins the broadcast and goes over the injury report with an insiders perspective. He previews who might be the Colts kicker come Sunday. Taylor details how Jonathan Taylor is the Colts bread and butter in the 4th quarter, especially  in no huddle offense. He stresses the importance of a kicker as it was essential in the Cincinnati Bengals playoff run last year. Taylor also had opinions on last night's football broadcast on Amazon Prime. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Emil Ekiyor left his family (7 sisters and two brothers) in Lagos, to pursue an education in Daytona Beach, Florida. Emil participated in Basketball, soccer, and football in high school and received a full athletic scholarship to attend the University of Central Florida, where he was named captain of the football team. After an outstanding college career, Emil went on to play six years in the National Football League with the Tampa Bay Bucs, Atlanta Falcons, and Oakland Raiders. Upon retiring from the NFL, Emil started several businesses in the USA. In addition, he worked with U.S. and Sub-Saharan Africa companies, to expand and take advantage of the rapid growth in Sub-Saharan imports and exports. Emil also served as the National Executive Director for the GEO Foundation, a nonprofit organization that partners with local community leaders to start, support, and manage high-quality K-12 charter schools. Currently, Emil is the founder and CEO of InnoPower, an organization that leverages seed-stage impact investing to drive innovation and accelerate economic productivity in Black communities in Indiana, and Sub-Saharan Africa. InnoPower also invests in businesses and real estate that helps generate wealth in and for Black Communities.
