Geno Smith put on a flawless clinic in red-zone drills today, carving up the defense with zero incompletions while connecting deep with AD Mitchell and hitting Omar Cooper Jr. and Kenyon Sadiq for scores. Meanwhile, rookie QB Cade Klubnik hit some rookie bumps against an aggressive secondary with picks by Jarius Thompson-McCrary Ball and Brandon Stiggers. Up front, RT Armand Membou kept David Bailey in check, the kicking battle between Jason Sanders and Cade York stayed razor-thin, and the Jets added DL Ben Barten while waiving LS Garrison Grimes. The Ultimate 2026 Superflex PPR Mock Draft: QB Runs, Zero RB & Best Values (Ep. 2108)

How should you approach a 2026 fantasy football Superflex league? The Fantasy Pros crew puts that question to the test with a full redraft Superflex PPR mock draft featuring Ryan Wormeli, Scott Bogman, Pat Fitzmaurice, and Andrew Erickson. The mock features three starting wide receivers, seven bench spots, no kickers or defenses, and a Superflex lineup, creating a fascinating battle between early quarterback strategy, zero RB builds, elite tight ends, and waiting on positional value. One of the biggest storylines is the quarterback rush: eight QBs go in the first round, forcing the analysts to adapt on the fly and raising a major 2026 fantasy football question: should you aggressively draft quarterbacks in Superflex, or let your league mates chase the position while you scoop up elite skill-position talent? With rookies and veterans all checked in at 1 Jets Drive, we’re now just hours away from the New York Jets first practice of the 2026 season getting under way.  JetNation will be present for every practice with wall to wall coverage for every session. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/73219233/download.mp3 As is the case with every club, every season, the Jets will have battles up and down the roster on both sides of the ball.  Surprisingly, for a team that just had the second pick in the draft and isn’t expected to make much noise this season, Gang Green is set with their starters at almost every spot.  Most of the battles this year will be taking place for second and third-string jobs. QB2:  If the Jets decide to keep just two quarterbacks then you’d have to imagine Cade Klubnik will be given every chance to win the backup job.  If they opt to keep three QB’s so there’s an experienced backup on the roster, they may give Bailey Zappe the nod early on or even look to add another QB via trade or free agency. WR2: We like AD Mitchell’s chances to win the job opposite Garrett Wilson with Omar Cooper Jr. Getting plenty of run as well.  If Tim Patrick stays healthy he could be WR4 with Isaiah Williams and Arian Smith rounding out the group. ILB3/4: DeMario Davis and Jamien Sherwood should win the starting jobs but based on how Mykal Walker played at the end of last season, he may beat out incumbent Marcelino McCrary-Ball.  Kiko Mauigoa, one of Darren Mougey’s draft picks last year, should be safe. Safety: This is one of the more interesting groups on the roster due to the presence of Minkah Fitzpatrick whose role is still unknown.  If he’s going to be used as a chess piece who goes between true safety, slot and in the box, it could impact who is on the field with him at the same time.  Malachi Moore was decent as a rookie last season and could win a starting job but don’t rule out Dean Belton who could be a sneaky good signing.  You could even make a case for seeing Andre Cisco winning a job.  Lots of questions, not many answers…yet. CB2: His hefty contract all but guarantees Brandon Stephens a serious edge to win the team’s CB1 job while Azareye’h Thomas, Nahshon Wright and possibly D’Angelo Ponds could battle it out for the second spot.  If Aaron Glenn feels Ponds is far and away the best slot on the roster it may keep him away from the boundary, leaving Thomas and Wright to battle it out. K: Jason Sanders will go head-to-head with Cade York and has to be the favorite as one of the leagues best kickers just a couple of years ago with Miami. LS: Incumbent Thomas Hennessy should be the favorite to beat out undrafted free agent Garrison Grimes.  Unless of course Grimes was hand picked by special teams coach Chris Banjo. The post Jets Camp Kicking off; Taking a Look at Positional Battles appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum. Fresh off the heels of a New York Knicks world championship, their first on over fifty years, Jets fans are asking once again; “When is it our turn?  When do we get to see our team win a ring?”. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/72542317/download.mp3 A championship may never materialize, but in order for it to happen, the Jets will first have to snap their fifteen-year playoff drought. While such a task is highly unlikely to happen this season, we thought we’d take a look at the key figures who would have to step up to make the playoffs even a remote possibility.  Some names blatantly obvious while some are less so. As is the case with every team in the NFL, it starts with the quarterback.  If the Jets are hoping to even contend for a playoff spot, they’ll need Geno Smith to stay healthy while being closer to the player he was two or three seasons ago than the past two seasons where he threw a total of 32 interceptions. If Smith is going to get back to being close to what he was in 2022 when he threw for over 4,000 yards while completing just under 70% of his passes, he’s going to need a receiver other than Garrett Wilson to step up.  If early indicators out of OTAs would offer any hints, AD Mitchell could be that guy.  As a pass catcher speed who has shown he can get open deep down the field, Mitchell could be the big play threat who opens things up for the tight ends underneath while making hit harder to double Wilson. With a solid offensive line and backfield with Breece Hall expected to carry the load, there is the potential for the Jets to put up a lot of points.  But as is always the case, teams looking to win games have to win the turnover battle, which brings us to the next x-factor. Having failed to intercept a single pass last season, safety Minkah Fitzpatrick becomes a huge figure for Aaron Glenn’s defense as the head coach takes over play calling duties.  Fitzpatrick has seen a significant dip in ball production with just two interceptions in the past two years, the Jets need something closer to the version of Fitzpatrick who intercepted twelve passes from 2020-2022.  If not Fitzpatrick, perhaps Andre Cisco can become the next safety to develop under Glenn. Aside from needing somebody to step up in the secondary, the second level could also use a boost which is where veteran DeMario Davis comes in.  After opposing offenses ran the ball up and down the field last season, a player of Davis’ stature could go a long way bringing that to an end. The Vegas odds makers have the Jets sitting at between five and six wins.  That’s the most likely outcome when the season comes to a close, but if a few players step up and elevate Gang Green on both sides of the ball, that unlikely playoff push won’t be as impossible as it seems. Give credit to Jets GM Darren Mougey for continuing to lock up his quality young players by signing center Joe Tippmann to a four-year extension.  The deal will pay Tippmann up to $62 million with half of that guaranteed. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/72534900/download.mp3 Tippmann becomes latest piece of the Jets puzzle to be given a new deal by Mougey who has also inked Garrett Wilson, Jeremy Ruckert, Breece Hall and (briefly) Sauce Gardner. By extending Tippmann, the Jets have three of their five offensive line spots filled for at least the next few seasons with Olu Fashanu at left tackle and Armand Membou at right tackle.  Donald Parham and Josh Myers are projected to start at left guard and center respectively. According to Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic, the deal makes Tippmann the 15th-highest paid guard in the NFL. Perhaps the most important aspect of the Joe Tippmann extension is that the Jets continue to put an offense in place that should be a nice landing spot for whichever quarterback they take with their first pick in next year’s draft.  Mougey hasn’t only worked to steady the O-line, but has extended Wilson while trading for AD Mitchell, re-signing Breece Hall and drafting Omar Cooper Jr., Kenyon Sadiq and Mason Taylor. The post Jets Reward Joe Tippmann With Four-Year Extension appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum. When the New York Jets open up OTAs this week, the big name folks will be interested in hearing about is rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik.  The rookie reportedly impressed during rookie minicamp and will now get his first shot to make plays against veteran NFL defenders. Klubnik will garner plenty of attention simply by the nature of being a quarterback.  But who else should Jets fans be focused on? https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/72172477/download.mp3 Kenyon Sadiq and Omar Cooper: The Jets used two first round picks on tight end Kenyon Sadiq and wide receiver Omar Cooper.  While OTAs won’t be padded or full contact, they will have a chance to try to get open against NFL defensive backs for the first time so fans will be tuned in to find out how they’re progressing. AD Mitchell: Mitchell is a possible x-factor this season as a speedy former second-round pick who flashed last season but was largely limited by putrid quarterback play.  If Mitchell looks like he may hit his ceiling, the Jets will have quite a lot to work with in terms of pass catchers in 2026 with Geno Smith under center. Take a look at every AD Mitchell target and reception with the Jets last season right here. D’Angelo Ponds: The rookie corner who has draw comparisons to Aaron Glenn is good enough to play on the outside but is being viewed as a guy who will play a lot of nickel in 2026.  However, don’t rule out the possibility of Ponds outplaying any of the two boundary corners on the roster and garnering consideration for a permanent role outside. Tight End Jelani Woods: The Jets have what they believe is a quality trio of tight ends in Mason Taylor, Sadiq and Jeremy Ruckert.  However, Woods is a former Frank Reich draft pick from their time together with the Colts and he’s an intriguing option at 6′ 7”.  With more teams deploying 3-tight end sets, might he find a way to impress and win a roster spot? Arian Smith: Smith was a complete flop as a rookie, hauling in 7 balls for 52 yards on the season.  He did develop into a very good gunner on special teams, but is he going to manage to impress Jets brass in his second pro season?  OTAs would be a good place to start. The post Cade Klubnik Tops List of Players to Watch as OTAs Kick off appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum. Grounded for much of the past decade, has Jets GM Darren Mougey finally put together an offense that can rise from total embarrassment, to mere respectability with an occasional “light up the scoreboard” type of performance?  The idea may not be all that far fetched in looking at the personnel the Jets have added. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/71889376/download.mp3 Plenty of skeptics laughed at the addition of quarterback Geno Smith, but the fact of the matter is that Smith is a much improved player since the last time he wore Green and White, and has a chance to produce at a level the Jets haven’t seen since the days of Ryan Fitzpatrick. If the signing of free agent guard Dylan Parham can shore up the offensive line, Smith should have plenty of time to operate with Olu Fashanu, Parham, Josh Myers, Joe Tippman and Armand Membou up front.  Darren Mougey using a pair of draft picks on Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper and tight end Kenyon Sadiq gives offensive coordinator Frank Reich some dynamic pieces to work with. Adding the young rookies to an offense that already has Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall (for now), and Mason Taylor in place could have the Jets offense being a threat to actually put up a lot of points. The x-factor in all of this is wide receiver AD Mitchell.  Obtained from the Colts as part of last season’s Sauce Gardner trade, Mitchell was once viewed as a first round draft pick.  While he fell out of round 1, he still went in the second round (52nd overall) and did flash at times last year for Gang Green. If Mitchell can get even close to his ceiling in this offense, the Jets could potentially have three dynamic receivers with a pair of tight ends, especially in Sadiq, who can create a fair number of mismatches for opposing defenses. The post How Much Will Darren Mougey Moves Improve Jets Offense? appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum. Ranking the '26 WR Class, Finding Help for Garrett Wilson

JetNation Radio; NY Jets Podcast

The NFL draft is now just eight days away so it’s time to look at the top wide receivers in this year’s class as Gang Green hopes to add some help for Garrett Wilson. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/71354513/download.mp3 Given his lengthy injury history, Jordyn Tyson is worthy of being called the top receiver in this class, but one the Jets should want no part of.  It may not matter when all is said and done as many project him to go before the Jets are on the clock, but we’ll go with the top six in all actuality with Tyson being out of the question. Carnell Tate, Ohio State:   Tate is able to get open at all levels, does a great job of tracking the ball and winning in a crowd.  Projected by many to go in the top five, Tate will make any team in the league better as soon as he walks in the building. Size and body control lead to eye-popping catches in tight spots. Makai Lemon, USC: Mocked by the masses to the Jets at sixteen for well over a month now, Lemon would give Gang Green a tough, shifty receiver who rarely gets taken down by the first defender he encounters.  Has some of the best hands in this class with just four drops over the course of his college career; good enough for a miniscule drop rate of 2.8% per PFF. Chris Brazzell, Tennessee: One of the most polarizing receivers in the class, many fans hold the failures of previous Tennessee receivers against Brazzell.  Assuming he’s a “one trick pony” who can only run “go” routes, Brazzell is far from that.  His route tree is far more refined than that and it shows up on film.  The biggest concern with Brazzell is his effort as a blocker but when he gets after it, he shows he’s more than capable.  Is this a coaching issue or effort issue?  That will be the biggest question he’ll have to answer. Omar Cooper Jr, Indiana: One of the best route runners in the country, Cooper Jr. has outstanding hands and can elevate to play much bigger than his size (6′ 199) would suggest.  Another popular name linked to the Jets of late, Cooper’s ability to play inside and out with Garrett Wilson and AD Mithcell could go over well in the Jets war room. Ted Hurst, Georgia State: If Hurst had gone to a bigger school, we’re convinced he’d be garnering more attention as a top receiver in the class.  He’s a 6′ 4” receiver who runs like a slot guy when necessary.  Very quick feet and crisp routes lead to plenty of separation for Hurst whose impressive wingspan allows him to make catches that most guys can’t make.  When all is said and done, he’ll be a better player than a lot of guys currently ranked ahead of him. Feel like every time I watch @GeorgiaStateFB WR Ted Hurst I like him more than I did the time before. Rare to see a guy at 6' 4'' separating at well as he does with crisp routes/quick feet. DB on this route jets juked at the line and almost falls over. pic.twitter.com/08cRUcHXxB — Glenn Naughton (@JNRadio_Glenn) April 15, 2026 Any of the receivers listed above would be a welcome addition to a room that already has Garrett Wilson and AD Mitchell, but if the Jets opt to wait until after pick 44 to take a receiver, keep an eye on Bronx native Skyler Bell out of UConn, Lemon’s running mate Ja’Kobi Lane, or Georgia’s Zahariah Branch. The post Ranking the '26 WR Class, Finding Help for Garrett Wilson appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum. Rich Dotson, Matt O'Hara, and Garret Price debated fantasy breakout candidates on the Dynasty Nerds podcast. AD Mitchell earned a 3/5 belief rating after averaging 15 PPR points over three games with the Jets. Tyler Shough and Devin Neal emerged as cheap SuperFlex depth options in New Orleans. Rich's bold prediction: Trevor Lawrence establishes himself as a top-12 dynasty quarterback in 2026 under Liam Cohen's offense. Mitchell topped the risers with six-plus targets per game since joining New York. Rich gave him a 3/5, citing athletic upside but noting he needs everything to break right. If the Jets land Fernando Mendoza, Mitchell could thrive as the Z receiver opposite Garrett Wilson. Matt compared his ceiling to Jameson Williams' role in Detroit. Jalen Coker disappointed the panel despite recent production. Garret rated him just 1.5/5, predicting Carolina adds a tight end like Kyle Pitts or Dallas Goedert in free agency, pushing Coker to WR3. Rich saw him as pure trade bait—a "scale tipper" with name value exceeding actual dynasty upside. Shough earned 3.5-4/5 ratings as New Orleans' likely 2026 starter after winning back-to-back games. Garret compared him to Davis Mills—competent enough to be a QB2 but not a long-term franchise solution. Neal scored 2.5/5 as a Brian Robinson type who could split carries with Alvin Kamara if the Saints move on from the 31-year-old's $18 million cap hit. Rich's crystal ball prediction centered on Lawrence becoming QB2 overall since the bye week. With Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. developing in year two, he projects Lawrence as a top-8 dynasty quarterback. Garret's bold take: 2026 will have the fewest fantasy-relevant day-one and day-two NFL Draft picks in 15 years, with only Jeremiyah Love, one or two quarterbacks, and 4-5 receivers worth first-round rookie picks. Gunner Helm received 4/5 ratings as a sneaky tight end buy with Tennessee's bare cupboard creating opportunity alongside Cam Ward. Jayden Reed scored 3-4.5/5 despite Green Bay's crowded receiver room, with the panel split on whether he can consistently crack starting lineups. For the second week in a row, the New York Jets defense no-showed and asked rookie quarterback Brady Cook to overcome an insurmountable lead. https://api.spreaker.com/v2/episodes/69047377/download.mp3 Last week it was a quick 21-0 deficit against the Dolphins, and this week it was Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars who jumped out to leads of 14-0 and 31-10 just before the half.  The Jags were off and running from the first snap of the game and never looked back.  Lawrence led the Jags on back-to-back scoring drives with a touchdown strike to Brian Thomas Jr. on the first drive and a 15-yard scramble for a score on their second drive. The Jets would counter with a Brady Cook TD pass, the first of his career, to AD Mitchell to make it 14-7.  That was as close as the Jets would get before Jacksonville ran away with it. Rookie running back Bhaysul Tuten pulled in a 16-yard TD reception to make it 21-7 before the team traded field goals to push the score to 24-10 before Jacksonville managed two more TD passes on a day in which Trevor Lawrence had five scoring strikes. On offense, the Jets just couldn’t keep up.  In his first pro start, quarterback Brady Cook completed 66% of his passes, going 22 for 33 for for 176 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. The loss drops the Jets to 3-11 and moves them from 7th to 5th in their draft position for the 2026 class. The post Jets Mauled by Jags 48-20 as Defense No-Shows Again appeared first on JetNation.com - New York Jets Blog & Forum.

BT & Sal dive into the state of New York football, declaring the Giants' season "over" and shifting focus to the Jets, whose "stock is trending up" due to better infrastructure, young talent development (like AD Mitchell), and winning three of their last five. They contrast this with the Giants' lack of cap space and the need to "fire everybody" from the front office down. The discussion pivots to baseball, debating the contentious question of Pete Alonso's next contract. Sal defends his $180M/6-year line in a fiery exchange with a caller who suggests the Mets should let Pete walk and rely on Mark Vientos—a prospect Sal vehemently dismisses. Finally, they cover the Saint John's Johnnies Report, noting the team's surprising four-and-three start and the need for Pitino to tighten the rotation and defense. The segment ends with the "Call of the Day," a shocking, dumped-out call that leads to a hilarious discussion about Juan Soto's patience and the viral Wes Steinberg fake news tweet that garnered 25 million views.
