Rabbi Dunner explores the significance of water as a metaphor for Torah and spiritual sustenance. Beginning with the story of Rabbi Akiva's realization of the power of water, prompted by observing water drops wearing away a rock, Rabbi Dunner cites the dreadful story of the water crisis in Flint, MI, comparing it to the biblical narrative regarding the water stopping its flow from Miriam's well in Parshat Chukat. Rabbi Dunner emphasizes the importance of pure, untainted leadership and continuous spiritual nourishment for the Jewish people.

Water, whether calm or raging, is a metaphor for how we can move through life. Shannon Lee, author of "Be Water, My Friend" and daughter of the legendary Bruce Lee shares her story. Raised in California by her mother Linda after her father's untimely death (she was just 4 years old), Shannon has carved her own path as a martial artist, actress, producer, and president of the Bruce Lee Foundation. Despite the challenges of living up to her father's iconic status, Shannon has embraced her own unique identity and achievements. She is a dedicated mother to her daughter Wren, striving to instill the same values of resilience and authenticity. Tune in for an inspiring conversation about living with courage, focus, and wisdom. In this fourth episode, host Emily Harwitz chats with Daniela Peña Corvillon about her work as a water architect, a term she coined while studying landscape architecture and realizing that water is the foundation for life in any landscape. Where water flows, life grows, and water always finds a way. Redwood ecosystems are a great example of that, like at one of Daniela's favorite projects, the ‘O Rew Redwoods Gateway. Through Daniela's stories about her artistic perspective, design philosophy, and ecological thinking, this episode will change the way you experience landscapes and open your eyes to the way water shapes us all. Daniela Peña Corvillon is a Chilean Architect who holds an MLA in Environmental Planning from UC Berkeley (2013). She focuses on the design and restoration of natural ecological functions at the interface of human and wild spaces. As owner of the architecture firm Wild LandArch, Daniela plans, designs, and manages multi-scale projects that integrate humans into natural areas and restore natural functions in the urban environment in California, Chile, and abroad. Daniela defines herself as a Water Architect due to her profound connection with water and her deep understanding of water systems.
Humanity has a primordial connection to water. For Indigenous peoples, such as the Māori, Water is an Ancestor, a living entity to be communed with, revered and treated with sacred reciprocity. We owe our lives to the oceans, rivers, lakes and streams of the world. And although marine ecosystems have often been viewed and studied through the abstract lens of economics or science, today, traditional Indigenous knowledge and cultural relationships with marine life and water in all its forms, are at the forefront of a new weaving that blends the ancestral past with the present. There is a growing wish to restore traditional concepts of marine and aquatic cultivation and care, to address climate change, microplastics, health of marine life, contaminants, and aquaculture. If water is an ancestor, what is our obligation to it? How do we restore a harmonious relationship with water, that supports future generations of life, and preserves the lifeways and worldviews of Indigenous peoples? What do the waters of the world ask of us? What should stewardship of marine ecosystems look like? What might we learn from the Māori, expert navigators of the waters, who have long held that their relationship to the land and waters is sacred. To them: Nature is everything. In this episode, join Heni Unwin, Kairangahau or Research Scientist with the Cawthron Institute [https://www.cawthron.org.nz/], in pondering these questions from her diverse perspectives as a Māori descendant and marine scientist. Episode Synopsis: Did James Cameron raise the bar of the motion picture industry again, or, is his latest Hollywood blockbuster embedded with so much spiritual messaging, he may not be aware of it all? We talk about this and much more, including: Is the concept of Avatar an expansion of Hindu beliefs and is the film being used to emotionally convince us that Satan is simply misunderstood? What astonishing detail did James Cameron reveal about the origins of Avatar and could it have any spiritual significance? What is the marine kingdom and why do we keep seeing it emphasized in films? What is it about the television that makes it such a dangerous platform? Why do our minds run full neurological simulations while we watch movies? Are character names significant in conveying hidden meaning to an audience? How does the Avatar franchise fit into the Satanic Control Matrix?
