Welcome back to another episode of The Lawcast! This time The Death of WCW, Part 1 concludes as our hosts reach a major turning point in WCW history with Spring Stampede 2000. It's the crazy time they brought back Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff and tried to get them to work together. What results is one of the most chaotic and insane shows in wrestling history, although there is some promise here. The hook of the show is that in this new era of WCW all champions have been stripped of their titles and every title will be decided. So we have separate tournaments for the WCW, United States, and Tag Team Titles. Jeff Jarrett takes on Diamond Dallas Page in the finals of the WCW World Heavyweight Title Tournament. Plus lots and lots of other matches. 14 of them on this night.Plus our hosts discuss the latest results in the AEW Continental Classic, MJF claiming his contract is about to expire, and the reports that Mercedes Mone will not be signing with AEW.
Regarded as the last "good" WCW PPV, Spring Stampede '99 does generally deliver. The cruiserweights tear it up, Scott Steiner goes full Big Bad Booty Daddy, and DDP does the thing. We are at the tail end of the "Real Sports" era, with a pending Hulk Hogan looming large over Spring Stampede '94. The card certainly feels like a big time event, but the finishes lead a lot to be desired. Nick Bockwinkel, do your job! We're taking a trip down memory lane to revisit one of the least memorable events in WCW history, Spring Stampede 1998. You'd think that with the list of big names on this show, it would've been a hit, but that didn't work for us, BROTHER! There were some good matches, like Booker T vs. Chris Benoit, Ultimo Dragon vs. Chavo Guerrero, Chris Jericho vs. Prince Iaukea for the Cruiserweight Title, and even Raven vs. DDP for the US Title was a mess...but a fun mess. Other than that, Rick Steiner and Lex Luger continued their boring feud with Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell while the heels faked injuries, Curt Hennig and British Bulldog put on a bland match that was secondary to the shenanigans outside the ring, a severely injured Macho Man faced Sting to a meh match in the main event, and Hollywood Hogan teams with Kevin Nash to take on The Giant and Roddy Piper in a Baseball Bat on a Pole match...and it sucked a high, hard one. The NWO is exploding here, so at least we'd soon get the Wolfpack. In the news, Ric Flair and Eric Bischoff are at odds over Flair's contract, many WCW wrestlers are thinking of jumping ship to ECW or WWF, ECW gets kicked out of another hotel, WWF breaks WCW's 83 week winning streak, Phil Mushnick craps on wrestling...AGAIN...and much more! We begin our 'Summer of WCW' with Spring Stampede 1994! We review this April classic from 29 years ago. Flair vs. Steamboat Sting vs. Rude Austin vs. Muta Rhodes vs. Buck Chicago Street Fight! And more!
Are you juicy? This week we talk about, “The Juicy One”, and that's why this week's internet bullshit list is about the top 10 juices?! Our match this week features one of wrestling's one hit wonders, Blitzkrieg. If you don't know Blitzkrieg go back and watch his matches, we are sure that you will see moves that are in almost every wrestler's repertoires today. Although he was ahead of his time and had a significant impact on wrestlers today he only worked for WCW for a year before moving on to a career in I.T.?!?! His opponent in this match is Juventud Guerrera the man who ripped off the Rock's gimmick and turned it into one of the most funny wrestling parodies of all time. We talk about some of the things he said and if you have never heard Juventud speak on the mic before going back and listening to his in ring promos is definitely worth your time. This match comes from WCW Spring Stampede 1999, and if you have access to this PPV go back and watch it in its entirety. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sixmantagpodcast/support

The main event was a continuation of a classic rivalry as WCW World Champion "Nature Boy" Ric Flair defends his title against Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat. John reviews all 8 matches on this PPV, shares the star ratings by Dave Meltzer and also talks about history of WCW leading up to this PPV. It was the night the "Macho Man" Randy Savage said, "I think I want to take the Diamond Cutter tonight!" And take it, he did! This is the match that made people look at Diamond Dallas Page as a bonified main eventer. Also on this card, we see Booker T & Stevie Ray (who were a team at the time) taking on The Giant & Lex Luger (who were a team at the time) in a Four Corners match. Yeah...only 1 winner, and it's every man for himself. Booker hilariously drops the N-word in his promo about Hulk Hogan. We also open the card with Rey Mysterio, Jr. taking on Ultimo Dragon, Akira Hokuto faces Madusa for the WCW Ladies Title, the Public Enemy faces the odd team of Jeff Jarrett and Steve "Mongo" McMichael, both Kevin Nash and Rick Steiner lose their partners and have to go one-on-one for the Tag Titles, and much more! There's also some interesting wrestling and MMA stories going around post-WrestleMania 13 that the Marks (Troy & Greg) discuss!ALL PODCAST, SOCIAL MEDIA, & MERCHANDISE LINKS: linktr.ee/MainEventMarksCHECK OUT OUR MERCHANDISE: MainEventMarks.redbubble.com & bonfire.com/store/maineventmarksGET FUELED WITH SHOCKED ENERGY: https://shockedenergy.com/collections/all?sca_ref=1814354.mOXH7RrwKh&sca_source=MainEventMarks (promo code: MainEvent for 10% off)ORDER FROM SWIFT LIFESTYLES: SwiftLifestyles.com, use PROMO CODE: MainEventMarks at checkout for 15% offLISTEN EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 9PM EST: tikilive.com/channel/BURNS

Eric Bischoff spoke with WrestleZone ahead of his appearance at Supershow Live in Dallas. Bischoff spoke about his excitement in getting to share the stage with William Regal and Jeff Hardy, seeing Steve Austin's WrestleMania return, WCW Spring Stampede and how the live event schedule has changed, Scott Steiner's Hall Of Fame induction and much more.
Our WCW entry for the "Best You Got" series takes us to Spring Stampede 1994. Chicago welcomed World Championship Wrestling with open aarms, and who wouldn't? DDP, Steven Regal Cactus Jack, and a not-yet-Stone-Cold Steve Austin accompany a Bunkhouse match (which is apparently just a no DQ match in street clothes) on the undercard and it all leads to a classic matchup in the main event as Ric Flair takes on Ricky Steamboat. Bischoff is there, but at least he doesn't make an appearance. Follow us on Twitter and Instagram @SnarkMarksPod and subscribe to our YouTube channel!
