This week we Review the Reviews of "Fantasy in Death," and these reviews are so judgy, they make us a bit angry. So, you're going to get a lot of rants from us in this episode. In the first review, we have someone who is upset about Roarke being so "perfect," but then they complain about something Roarke did, (which they misread, btw) so, he's not perfect? Then we have a judgy "author," who wants to gate keep the science fiction genre, and accuses Nora of not having EARNED the respect due a "real" science fiction author. There are more people who hint that Nora has a ghostwriter, and those same people want Eve to get pregnant already. Also one person who "threw the kindle against the wall" because Nora describing how hot Roarke looked in period costuming?? Also one who thought "the final showdown was lame"?? As Tara pointed out: THERE WAS A FUCKING SWORD FIGHT, Y'ALL! HOW WAS THAT LAME!? But, as with every "We Review the Reviews" Episode, we have several really good ones including an author that actually knows how to write a good review, readers who love Susan Ericksen, People who thought the personal interactions were hilarious and that Peabody was especially funny. We Agree!

If we're going to achieve our 1 million dreams goal for the year… we need some help. And for me… one of the biggest places I go for help… is prayer. Over the years, prayer has brought me a sense of peace in tough times… it's brought me clarity when I felt scattered… it's brought me hope when I felt like I was down for the count… AND it's brought me encouragement when I needed it. And that's what I want for you too! So that is what we're talking about in today's episode. If prayer is your jam… awesome. Or… if you're curious about prayer… hang with me. I think this will help. BUT… if prayer is NOT your jam… or… worse yet… you've felt a little beat up… or judged… when it comes to the subject of Spirituality… or prayer… I'd really invite you to stay with me in this convo. Trust me. I'm not trying to convince you that way of thinking is right… I just want to offer some stories, some strategies AND… specifically… I want to pray FOR you. See how you feel and then we'll go from there. My hope is you're going to be encouraged to keep moving forward as you go after your dreams and do more of what you were created to do! You with me? I hope so. Let's do this. RESOURCES: We've talked a little about prayer before on DREAM THINK DO. If you want to dig deeper on the subject… here are a few episodes: “Surprised By Prayer” with Melissa Johnson-Matthews: www.mitchmatthews.com/207 The “We Agree to Pray” Project with Mitch Matthews: www.mitchmatthews.com/293 “We Agree to Pray” BONUS Episode with Hope Generation's Ben Courson: www.mitchmatthews.com/285 “We Agree to Pray” BONUS Episode with Human Rights Advocate, Ashleigh Chapman: www.mitchmatthews.com/287 “We Agree to Pray” BONUS Episode with “TLC's: Say YES to the Dress'” Lori Allen: www.mitchmatthews.com/289 “We Agree to Pray” Bonus Episode with Bestselling Author, Brant Menswar: www.mitchmatthews.com/291 “We Agree To Pray” Bonus Episode with Illusionist, Harris III: www.mtichmatthews.com/293 Mitch's 6-Miracle Day Post: Click here THE “DREAM TOGETHER” APP IS HERE! So… HERE ARE THE STEPS: STEP 1: Download the app. Find “Dream Together” for your Apple Device: HERE Find “Dream Together” for your Android Device: HERE STEP 2: Sign up and enter the group code: dreamthinkdo STEP 3: Be inspired by the dreams that are already there. Then… follow and encourage a dream or two! STEP 4: Post at least one of your own dreams… and then invite friends to join you so you can DREAM TOGETHER! Let's do this! MORE ABOUT THIS EPISODE: I'm excited about this episode. In it… I want to show you a way where I get encouraged… where I get help… where I get bolstered… on those days where I'm excited and charged up… AND on those days where I'm sad… or tired… or feeling overwhelmed. So this episode is extra special for me… because I'm going to get to tell some stories… and THEN… I'm going to get to pray for YOU… yes YOU. And I believe… that even though we're not in the same room as I'm recording this… and as you're listening to this… I believe that something amazing can happen… when we pray together. So that's it. This is not a debate. This is sure not me trying to prove myself right. This is just me… wanting to encourage you… in a way that I get encouraged. To put some more tools in your tool box. If this is new to you… I invite you to be open to it. If prayer is NOT new to you… I'd still invite you to be open to it… because it might sound a bit different than you're used to… or I might point to a different version of the Bible than you're used to.. But hang with me and see how you feel. See what resonates with you. Now… if that's STILL not your thing… no harm… no foul. I'd just invite you to jump to one of our other 313 episodes of Dream Think Do… and as you do that… know you're loved and I'm sooooooooo glad that you're here. BUT… if you're still with me… I think we're going to have some fun. And again… the game plan is to: get you a few stories share a favorite scripture I'm going to pray FOR you Then… offer you a short prayer that you can pray yourself… if you want to. Sound good? Cool… Let's go for it! QUOTES ON THE SUBJECT: I like how Bono talks about his spiritual journey… “For me… it is probably more accurate to say, “I was really lost, I'm a little less so at the moment… And then a little less and a little less again. That to me is the spiritual life… it has slowly rebuilt me... It has taken years though and it is not over yet.” - Bono BY the WAY… as I was doing my research for this episode I also found this quote: “Dream up the kind of world you would want to live in. THEN… dream out loud.” - Bono ----- “Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made a burden.” - Corrie Ten Boom - Dutch Watchmaker, Along with her family - helped many Jewish families survive the Holocaust ______________________ “I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life.” - Abraham Lincoln ______________________ “Prayer is talking with God. God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart.” - Josh McDowell “BIBLICAL CREDIBILITY:” We're going to dive into some specific scripture. There are TWO THINGS I'd love for you to hear: God LOVES us… God LOVES you. He wants you to live an AMAZING life (adventure). Ephesians 3:14 - 21 - New Living Translation: 14 When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, 15 the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. 16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. 20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. The word we dig into is: perissos: “Exceedingly Abundantly Beyond…” Here's what it looks like in the Greek: click here Here's me getting my tattoo of the word (also… looking away so I don't pass out because of the needle!) click here A PRAYER FOR YOU!!!! This is a prayer you can use… and/or adapt for yourself: Lord… Thank you for loving me. Thank you that I don't have to understand how that works to know it can be true. Help me to walk with you and walk in your love today. Help me to LOVE others well today. Help me to experience more of the life you want for me and help me spread that around too. Help me to know that achievement is good but it has nothing to do with my worth… in your eyes. You are amazing Lord. You say I am priceless… that I am carefully and wonderfully made. Help me to remember that today… and help me to remind others of that they are too. Help me to DO… BE… and Experience ALL you have for me today. Help me to partner with you… to be loved by you… and to love my neighbor well… whomever that neighbor may be today. Thanks! Amen. I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: Okay… I hope you dig this. If you do… let me know. Drop a comment below. If you have questions OR an “amen,” let me know. And hey… if you don't dig it… let me know too. I want to hear from YOU! And hey… no matter what… join us on our DREAM TOGETHER app (details in the RESOURCES section above). We've got Dream Think Doers marching towards our million dreams goal and I want you there. The info is above or at: www.DreamTogether.co. Cool? Cool. Please share this episode with a friend who might need it… and when you do… tag me! I'd love to thank you personally. And know that I've got some awesome interviews coming your way… so stay tuned for those. But in the meantime… keep bringing your awesome!
There's so much division and polarization in the world right now. BUT at the same time, I think there's a pendulum swing that's happening too. There seem to be more and more people who are saying, “Enough!” Let's find some common ground and let's work from there to find real solutions. They're looking for a place to start! Because that's what we do… when we are at our very best. We find a way to find a way. We find a way to band together to help. We find a way. That's where the “We Agree to Pray” project comes in. We don't have to agree on everything, but what if a small group of people could come together to say, “We AGREE to pray.” What might happen? Well… let's talk about that! RESOURCES: To sign up for WE AGREE TO PRAY, go here: WeAgreeToPray.com. Episode 282: “Empathy - A Secret Weapon for Thriving in a Divided World.” Click here: mitchmatthews.com/282 Mitch's “6 Miracle Story.” Click here. We AGREE TO PRAY PROJECT EPISODE MINUTE-BY-MINUTE: 0:02 What to expect today 2:00 Are you sick of the polarization? 3:15 Why Mitch Learned from a Derecho 8:09 The human spirit 10:56 The phrase that sparked the idea 13:47 The power of prayer and what to do when you feel “the nudge” 27:11 What's coming up in September 32:21 Will you join us? 34:43 How to join MORE ABOUT THE EPISODE: Recently, on an early morning drive… I was reminded of how we… as human beings… find a way. That's right. When we are at our best, we find a way to help each other, encourage each other, push each other and come alongside each other. That idea planted a seed. What could we do… if we gave ourselves permission to find some common ground? As I was praying about this question, I got hit with a phrase. “We Agree to Pray.” Well… I'll be honest. At first, I pushed back on the idea. I thought, “People can't seem to agree on ANYTHING right now. They can't agree on big stuff like politics, COVID… or the little stuff like who makes the best French Fry or how to eat an Oreo. But… WHAT IF? What if a ragtag group of us was willing to put aside our differences for a month? What if we… a group of very different people… took a month to pray for healing, hope, grace, unity, solutions and breakthroughs? What might happen? Now… here's the deal. Prayer may not be your thing. If that's the case… TOTALLY cool. No harm no foul. We're good. And hey… if you want to drop out of this episode… that's totally fine. We can TOTALLY still be friends AND you are still TOTALLY part of the DREAM THINK DO family. Because we are TOTALLY willing to recognize and honor our differences and our similarities here! At the same time… if prayer IS your thing… or you've always been curious about it… cool. Let's keep talking. See… prayer hasn't always been big for me. But over the years… prayer has brought me a lot of peace, hope, strength, grace, AND love. PLUS… it's also become a part of our core business strategy and something I depend on as we navigate the wild waters of life (especially in 2020!!!). Now, I don't do it perfectly. When I pray… it's messy. It ain't poetic. It's not beautiful. #IloveJesusbutIcussalittlebit But it has become powerful… and amazing. In the episode, I share some examples, plus I mention our “6 Miracle Day.” (Click here to read that story: mitchmatthews.com/our-6-miracle-story/ Most importantly, we've seen the power of prayer help people to experience a sense of peace, hope, and strength. And we've seen incredible things happen when a group of people comes together to pray. So… for the month of September, we're wanting to do something we're calling the WE AGREE TO PRAY project. It's where people from all walks of life agree to pray… together. We'll send out a daily email to: Offer some encouragement Provide a shared prayer focus for the day Share some stories and breakthroughs
