Episode 59 Breakdown: Intro | 0:00 Beer Breakdown | 7:03 Metal News | 21:37 New Music | 33:00 Featured Band | 56:36 Hopwolves, you know what time it is... Epiosde 59 has Arie gearing up for some film gigs while Todd embraces his inner Stray on the PS5. We also had the absolute pleasure of hopping on an episode with our dudes Doug & Zack of Bronze Metal Podcast. Loves those homies and the hopwolves should, too! This week's Beer Breakdowns has Arie heading back to Pangea with his Puffel Hazy Juicy DIPA from Wiseacre Brewing Co (Memphis, TN) and Todd catches a pleasing island breeze with his Tropical Einhorn Tart Wheat Beer from Austin Beerworks (Austin, TX). The boys open up the metal floodgates to discuss who will be playing 2nd guitar for the God Forbid reunion shows, Job For a Cowboy FINALLY being in the studio, and Decibel Magazine's Beer & Metal Fest heads West, and lets the evil go East, later this year for the Metal News of the Week. New Music includes bangers from CELL, Pieced Up, Nicholas Cage Fighter, Hatriot, Spite, dead7, Collossuems, Silent Planet, and a feature from Miss May I's Levi Benton that will have you begging for more among a slew of other filthy tracks/albums. What's the funniest brewery name you've ever seen? Zack from Indiana jumps on with Flex and Greg to talk about “inbetweener” beers, setting the right expectations for customers, the best beer prank, more sellout breweries, and Canadian beer with a racy name.Zack is drinking Wiseacre Brewing's Bow Echo hazy IPA. Flex is sipping on ‘Scuse Me, a pale ale from Ope! Brewing. Greg is reviewing Brewery X's Signature Series Volume III. Wakeboarding is tough when you're old; just ask Greg. At least he found a new lake beer – Firestone Walker Mind Haze Light. The crew talks about an essential beer – the intbetweener. What's yours? Turns out the Midwest has a funny way of saying Modelo (thanks Flex), and the jury is still out on apricot. And Flex hammers the importance of setting expectations with beer names. And did you know there was a town in Canada called Dildo? They have a brewery. Alaska is coming back around for Ludicrous Libation Laws. Pliny the Younger brings millions in economic impact; it sounds like an important beer. Melvin Brewing is looking for a “partner”… *cough* buyer. Monday Night Brewing is expanding…again. And the highest-rated beers (so far) of 2022!Zack: www.instagram.com/og_beer_dude Flexy: www.instagram.com/flex_me_a_beer Craft Beer Republic: www.CraftBeerRepublic.com www.instagram.com/CraftBeerRepublic www.facebook.com/CraftBeerRepublicPod www.twitter.com/CraftBeerRepub (805) 538-2337 Use promo code UNFILTERED on Tavour.
Do you f'n want some?! Everyone's favorite Gary-ian Zack drops in to talk about his life as a carnie, 4th of July shenanigans, the pitfalls of “just one more beer,” weird news in the craft beer world, crazy drunk dads, and New Jersey trying to be the worst state for beer.Zack is drinking The Beach Within Reach, a Berliner Weisse from Wiseacre Brewing out of Memphis, TN. Flex and Greg are both drinking Mind Haze Hopical Crush, compliments of Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Greg talks about the upcoming emo-fest at Naughty Pine Brewing on July 16. Flex talks about his birthday extravaganza, drinking beers, not watching fireworks, and going to Wolf Lodge. Zack talks about his 4th of July, traveling food business, and being a certified carnie. Greg talks about his holiday celebrations and the Jello shots that Coley forced down his throat, as well as ending the night with multiple sours. Greg also discovered he left a drunk voicemail while in San Diego celebrating Vanessa's birthday. The crew discovers that New Jersey is trying to become the worst state. EVER. Brewery X shocks everyone and pulls out of the Modern Times purchase. Scotch Whiskey is finally a certified category in the US. Get ready for some spiked coconut water. There's a new burger/beer collaboration between Tarantula Hill and The Habit. And a drunk dad has a little too much alone time and attacks his neighbor. Episode 47 Breakdown: Intro | 0:00 Beer Breakdown | 6:34 (Independence Brewing Co's Stash IPA and Platform Beer Co's Strawberry Cheesecake Porter) Metal News | 16:32 New Music | 36:51 Featured Band | 48:02 (Afterdusk) Hopwolves you know what time it is... Episode 47 has Todd is looking to become a real life Island boi while Arie catches his first show of 2022 with some new found friends. The time has come for Todd to unveil his Independent Stash while Arie finds a collab beer in Ohio that he can feel in his Bones for the BEER BREAKDOWN. After unleashing a Radical new album, and facing inner band turmoil, Buffalo's finest, Every Time I Die have called it quits, Meshuggah aren't joking around with a new album dropping in April, and craniums are beyond recognition as Intercranial Bludgeoning drop a filthy new album we can't stop spinning. After the dusk has settled strap in for some metalcore goodness from Alabama that is very Becoming and catchy as all hell. Turn it up to 11, crack open that beer, it's about to get BREWTAL! https://linktr.ee/brewtal This week's episode features Become of Me from Alabama Metalcore Outfit Afterdusk Bio: "Formerly known as Falling For Insanity, Alabama Metalcore outfit Afterdusk is comprised of 4 best friends (Matt Boykin – vocals, Jeff Griffin – drums, Chris Rivera – Guitar, and Corey Mcleod – Bass) that love playing music. After postponing shows and tours when Covid hit, they decided to take that time to get to work on new music and come out swinging in 2022. With their first EP, Fatal Strand, out now they aren't stopping any time soon. They plan to release three more EP's this year alone, so you won't be waiting long for new music from them!" What Afterdusk are drinking: "Chris doesn't really drink beer, Corey is more of a whiskey guy, and Jeff will pretty much drink anything you put in front of him (although his go-to beer is Yuengling, and he also loves Crown) Matt, on the other hand, well I'll let him tell you: “I'm a big stout and porter guy. I tried a bunch of light beers when I was younger and I just thought they all tasted horrible haha no hate for those that drink light beers. They just aren't for me. Believe it or not the first beer I ever tried and really enjoyed was Guinness haha I'm told I'm kinda weird for that though apparently. One of my favorites is a beer called “Gotta Get Up To Get Down” it's a cream coffee stout from Wiseacre Brewing co. based out of Memphis TN. I'm a huge coffee nerd so this is right up my ally. I've also been drinking a lot of the chocolate porter from Yuengling lately as well. ALSO, though it's not a porter or a stout, I have to shoutout Pumpking by Southern Tier Brewing Company. This beer is freaking delicious, and it will knock you on your ass if you're not careful haha. That 9% ABV can sneak up on you cos it just straight up tastes like pumpkin pie and that's very dangerous for me.” This week's Beer Breakdown include Independence Brewing Co's Stash IPA (Todd's Pick) and Platform Beer Co's Strawberry Cheesecake Porter (Arie's Pick).
