'Drive with care' is something Kṛṣṇa points out in the Bhagavad Gita. First he says, "yānti deva-vratā devān pitṝn yānti pitṛ-vratāḥ bhūtāni yānti bhūtejyā yānti mad-yājino 'pi mām (BG 9.25)." Yanti means to go. He said, You can go any direction you want. In this universe, it's a matter of where you push your attention. Because where attention goes, energy flows. And he says you should drive with care, because, for instance, if you drive blindfolded, you're going to smash into somebody, and it's going to have a negative consequence on your life. So in the Gita, he talks about how you should be aware of how the world is comprised of three modes of material nature, and be careful where you associate yourself and how you interact with the world. Be very careful and deliberate where you go by getting knowledge about how to move towards a worthy destination and how to choose all the right circumstances so that you can keep moving in that direction. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Happy Thursday HPP Family!!The team went full throttle in July and recorded 5 shows. We loved all of them as we had football star Travis Kelce, recording artist Trevor Hall, author and Gulf War veteran Bob Taylor on talking about his new book “From Service to Success”. These are all great shows and we know you will love listening to them. We will be releasing these shows throughout August leading up to our NFL pre-season show with George the first week of September. This NFL HPP season is lining up to be very special. Of all of the shows we have recorded we chose to open the month of August with Yanti Amos, the Yogi-Ninja. Yanti and her story cross over so many interests and story lines that we believe everyone will enjoy it. Born in Australia to Indonesian parents, Yanti eventually became an international business lawyer working globally from countries in Asia as well as Europe. She was successful, making money, and thought she was living the life of her dreams. But a funny thing happened along the way. She woke up, literally. She was involved in an accident that left her laid up and forced her to take time off from work. In the space this provided she realized this was not the life she wanted and she was not the person she wanted to be. She left the practice of law and based on yoga sessions she experienced during her rehab, she got certified as a yoga instructor and within 6 years opened her own yoga studio in New York. From there the story takes some additional twists and turns eventually leading her to a black belt in karate, selling the studio, and then working fulltime with her husband in teaching Karate all over the world (as well as yoga through the Warrior Flow School). Please enjoy her humor, her wit, her resiliency, and her passion. Side note, in 2018 George and Bruce were in New York and attended a yoga class at Yanti's hot yoga studio!! Small world indeed. Enjoy the show and let's get pumped up for the 2023-24 NFL season!! Emma & Bruce-------Yanti Amos - https://www.yantiamos.comDonation Information: 1. Yanti shares her life journey with us which took her to many different corners of the world!Born in Australia with Indonesian parents, Yanti grew up looking different from others and - still to this day - had to answer how she could speak such fluent English considering her Indonesian physical traits. Yanti shares with us the origin of her name, and the importance of her Javanese origins in her life.Yanti has been a successful lawyer for 17 years in multiple countries. However, after "a mid-life crisis" as she calls it, she made a huge change and became a yoga instructor & studio owner in New York City!Towards the end of the episode, we also talk about how during the pandemic, by simply reaching out to friends around the globe, she ended up putting together a group of more than 100 women to share their stories & support each other about their domestic violence experiences.Enjoy! If you enjoy listening to our podcast and would like to support us, check out our Buy Me a Coffee page:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/jippodcastOur website:https://justinterestingpeople.comFollow Yanti on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/yanti_yoganinjaFollow us on Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/justinterestingpeoplehttps://www.instagram.com/rosieandre_comhttps://www.instagram.com/jeremieandre_fr

We learnt so much about what goes into caring for the 60+ penguins under the keepers' care at Jurong Bird Park and the research work that keepers undertake to ensure the wellbeing of all penguins. The next time you visit the park and participate in one of their guest interaction experiences, you are sure to view these birds in a different light. Rubiyanti Basuki was born in the high land of Dieng Plateau, Java, in 1979 and left home at an early age, engaging in life's lessons when most of us are cocooned in family and school. Her connection with Spirit and the land through her Kejawan roots meant that she responded to life experiences through a wider angle. Yanti believes that her path of complex life realities was, and is, a path of empowerment, held by Mother Earth, to accelerate consciousness and spiritual evolution. She sees her experiences of life and her two children as clear channels of wisdom within that evolution. Yanti is a successful business woman yet also seamlessly holds the ancient living wisdom of Javanese belief, and this fusion defines her path to complete her journey as ‘a walking mandala'. Yanti is also a leader in the spiritual and social movement called Gemah Ripah which supports others to live a real spiritual daily life.Join us as we explore the native spirituality of Java as the ‘flowing water of spirit'; the importance of harmony with all phenomenon; the relationship between the land and respect of its drive for balance; the true nature of Java's sacred sites; shamanism and structured religions and how spirituality is not mutually exclusive of success in business and life...and so much more!Find out more about Yanti here:https://www.instagram.com/rubiyantibasukihttps://www.facebook.com/solodesignyogyakarta/https://www.instagram.com/solodesign_/
Yanti Amos joins Yuliana today to share her story of how she navigated the events that redirected her life. An experienced international lawyer, Yanti was propelled by a series of events to leave her law career behind and venture to New York City where she founded Earth YogaNYC, which she and her husband, Richard, then sold in 2019. Among her many other accomplishments, Yanti is also a polo player, karate black belt, an E 66th store Ambassador for Lululemon, and is currently focused on working with Richard on building his international Shotokan Karate Organization. Yanti begins the conversation by talking about the events that reshaped her life - her divorce and an accident – as well as leaving the legal profession, finding solace in yoga, and coming to understand what yoga truly is about. She goes on to discuss the hardships that came with running a small business and how she was able to overcome them, how she got into karate, and her taekwondo background as a child. Yanti also offers her advice to do what is right for our bodies and to truly listen and confront our inner critic when in self-doubt, and the episode comes to a close with Yanti describing the one song that resonates with her life. Episode Highlights: - The events that redirected the course of Yanti's life - Leaving the law career - Finding love and understanding in yoga - Transitioning into yoga as a profession - Lessons learned from running a small business - How to embrace the struggles that come with starting something new - Starting out in the karate style, Shotokan. - Doing what is right for the body - Battling your inner critic - The one song that describes Yanti's life. Quotes: “I grew to really love and understand yoga, on not just a physical level, but I saw it as a spiritual awakening.” “It was a sanctuary but it was so much more than that.” “You have a facade and a mask on when you're in a profession like the law and you're playing a role, whereas in yoga and in the wellness world, I feel like everybody loves the realness and the vulnerability of someone fresh in the sector.” “I think we all go through second-guessing ourselves and we all wonder whether life would be better in the previous job, or whether choices you've made could have been made differently.” “I've always said to my sisters and friends, ‘One day I need to write a screenplay or write something funny about the yoga world.'” “Our job, I believe, is to get them out of that sense of competition and just really tap into what's going on internally, and to learn to actively listen to themselves to go inward. ” Links: https://www.yulianakimgrant.com/phoenix-tales (Phoenix Tales Homepage) https://www.instagram.com/yulianakimgrantofficial/ (Phoenix Tales on Instagram) https://open.spotify.com/show/1heIpPMsG6HbXXIDLmAnEe (Phoenix Tales on Spotify) https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=322043276201679 (Phoenix Tales on Facebook) https://www.linkedin.com/in/yanti-amos-she-her-hers-80ab6019/ (Yanti's LinkedIn)

I am joined by Beth Harris and Yanti Amos as they bring their differing perspectives on training and staying new. Beth is only 3 years into Aikido while Yanti brings in considerable experience in her Karate and Yoga in which she is both practitioner and teacher. Yanti Amos Yanti Amos founded Earth YogaNYC, a hot power vinyasa studio on the Upper East Side in 2009, with her Shotokan master husband Richard. As a former international lawyer who pivoted into health and wellness, Yanti is no stranger to transitions and being steadfast through change. She sold her yoga studio last year and now travels to teach yoga and karate globally. She is also a fourth degree black belt in Shotokan karate. An enthusiastic advocate of women & minorities in sports, her passions include entrepreneurship and mentoring. She is known in New York and worldwide, as a teacher who bridges the gap between the business world and the realm of yoga & meditation. She has led numerous yoga teacher trainings and continues to train women leaders in the WTKO, her husband's international karate organization. In 2019 Yanti was honored as a lululemon Ambassador at the New York East 66th store. Nothing can have prepared us for what we as a race are experiencing today. Not even the political turmoil in Indonesia in the late 90's when gunfire & tear gas in the streets was a daily occurrence, or living through personal injury, divorce, pivoting careers and knowing family tragedy. As a 56 year old yogini and meditator, Yanti has never been more ready to share her wisdom and life experience while we as a collective work together through this unprecedented world pandemic. She believes that yoga and karate are for everyone, no matter your age. Yanti looks forward to leading you through regular mind body practices to maintain a happy, confident mindset & strong immune system through these uncertain times. If there really is a God, why do 80% of the people in Indonesia, the 5th biggest country in the world, live without running water or basic human needs? Is this a theological question, or a political question? Today we're in a perfect spot to find out. Yanti Turang left her tiny Australian town called Kyneton to visit Indonesia, where her father came from, and was appalled at the sub-standard living conditions that saw members of her own family dying of preventable diseases. Yanti moved to New Orleans where she founded an organization to change all that, called Learn to Live. Learn to Live changes lives in Indonesia, South Africa, Laos, and Kenya. While Yanti was moving to New Orleans, Joanna Hale McGill's mother dragged her out of New Orleans to go live in Picayune, Mississippi, where she was subjected to blatant racism. Somehow, Joanna didn't get mad, she got God. Today Joanna Hale McGill is a rising star in the world of Gospel music - and when you hear her singing you'll know why. Joanna does her best to answer why God is good to her but letting 80% of Indonesians live in Hell; and you get the sense that if you gave Joanna another 5 minutes and one more song to sing she might turn the whole Inodnesian thing around herself. God didn't pick out Marcus DeLarge's tie, but he could have. Marcus is the sharpest dresser ever to appear on Happy Hour. And possibly the most passionate attorney. Marcus only lasted about 3 months as a prosecutor in the DA's office before he found his calling as a fighter, defending folks who need him to stand up to the justice system that's stacked against them. Andrew Duhon gets pretty close to finding God during this conversation. He also revisits and reworks an old song that time and experience have improved vastly. This conversation is a raucous but respectful romp through international politics, racism, slavery, theology, and immigration. A classic Happy Hour. Photos at Wayfare by Jill Lafleur.
