Wild theories on ancient structures, black ops, and potential pole shifts are thrown around. 00:10:00 – More hilarious Alex Jones clips, including shirtless moments. The guys riff on Trump reportedly wanting the U.S. to join the British Commonwealth and whether it's a serious diplomatic proposal or trolling. 00:20:00 – Deep dive into the Commonwealth idea: pros, cons, trade impact, and cultural symbolism. They debate what joining would mean for U.S. independence and suggest Trump might want to rename it the "American Commonwealth." 00:30:00 – Trump's supposed leaked Signal chat about war plans sparks discussion. They joke about secure communication apps, war strategies via Snapchat, and general tech incompetence among elites. 00:40:00 – Gates predicts AI will replace teachers and doctors. They clown on creepy CDC robocalls about childhood immunizations. Then, they introduce the Bonnie Bridge UFO hotspot story. 00:50:00 – Full-on exploration of Bonnie Bridge, Scotland—a claimed global UFO hotspot. Hundreds of sightings are discussed. CIA documents and ancient tech theories come into play. 01:20:00 – Drawbridge of Donations segment. Listeners are hilariously thanked. Heavy ChatGPT users show emotional reliance and social impact. They joke about AI taking over jobs and minds. 01:40:00 – Wild story of a mistaken drug raid in the UK: cops crash into an elderly couple's home due to heat signatures from regular heaters. The couple is traumatized, and the guys mock the police overreaction. 01:50:00 – More on the Chuck E. Cheese nostalgia rabbit hole. The last location with an animatronic band in California is discussed, sparking memories and lamenting the brand's faded glory. 02:00:00 – Final thoughts include absurd, surrealist riffs about AI-generated poetry, Skinwalker Ranch spin-offs, Space Force, and Alex Jones cameos. The show wraps on a chaotic and comedic high. For episode 100 of the podcast, I talk with the legendary Jim Olson. Jim should need little introduction to most Luthier on Luthier listeners. His guitars have been played and cherished by artists including James Taylor (you can even spot the trademark headstock "O" during Taylor's appearance on the Simpsons), Paul Simon, Phil Keaggy, Zac Brown and Patty Larkin. Though he creates some of the most valuable flattop guitars around, his build process is all about efficiency and quality control. Jim talks about how his tooling and processes have changed over the years, how Bob Taylor talked him into his first CNC, early career challenges ("I couldn't give them away," he says about his first guitars), and about the subjective nature of a "better" guitar. Link: https://olsonguitars.com Luthier on Luthier is hosted by Michael Bashkin of Bashkin Guitars and brought to you by the Fretboard Journal. This episode is sponsored by Dream Guitars and StewMac. Vegas is an old Western town, so that's why steakhouses are such fixtures here … right? Well, not exactly. Culinary historian Sarah Lohman sits down with her co-host Dayvid Figler to trace the history of American steak from its home on the range, through the moneyed elite of NYC, and over to the casinos of Las Vegas. They talk about why our infamous steak and eggs breakfasts are so dang cheap, the rise of “clubstaurants,” and how one Vegas steakhouse out-bros them all (hint: DJs and a diamond-encrusted suitcase are involved). Steakhouses mentioned: Bob Taylor's Ranch House Golden Steer Circus Circus Main St. Provisions El Cortez Coffee Shop Papi Steak at the Fontainebleau Echo & Rig Cote at the Venetian STK at the Cosmopolitan Cleaver Herbs and Rye Want to get in touch? Guitarists often joke about the “quest for tone” — the illusive and seemingly endless pursuit of the “perfect” sound. A lot of truth is said in jest, and while perfection may be more of a journey than a destination, the desire for better playing, composing, and performing has remained the engine of countless sonic innovations, including the XS guitar strings designed by D'Addario and Taylor. Both companies share an unbridled dedication to advancing their craft, and who better to guide a roundtable discussion of the art of perfecting sound than Sweetwater's sound scholar, Mitch Gallagher? Jim D'Addario, Bob Taylor, and Andy Powers join Mitch at Sweetwater Studios to talk all things tone, time, and the future of guitar. Check it out!
Join Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug as they retrace Taylor Guitars' journey through the 1990s. It was a decade of pioneering innovation and tremendous growth for the company. In part 4 of our historical podcast, Bob and Kurt reminisce about the inspiration for Taylor's brand identity, the invention of the Grand Auditorium body style, the artists who inspired them, and how computer-controlled machines enabled them to design and build guitars in a whole new way.

After a tumultuous start and some early setbacks, Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug persevered into the '80s—a decade in which the music scene was not particularly friendly to acoustic guitars. As the acoustic market languished, Bob and Kurt found ways to keep their fledgling operation on its feet and growing, seizing unexpected opportunities to support the business when conditions were less than ideal. But it wasn't all cloudy skies. As Bob and Kurt discuss in the third episode of our oral history podcast, Taylor began making guitars for artists, building guitar cases in house, Bob introduced the Grand Concert model, and the company reached a milestone with its first million-dollar year.
In the second episode of our oral history podcast, Taylor Guitars co-founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug dive into the challenges they experienced in the first years of the company's existence. Though they faced financial obstacles, long night shifts and literal floods, there were also successes to celebrate, like signing their first distribution deal and seeing their guitars in the hands of household names like Neil Young. Bob and Kurt recount the lessons they took away from those difficult days as well as the early wins that helped them build momentum as manufacturers of quality guitars and forge a foundation on which the company could grow.
In the first episode of this oral history podcast, Taylor Guitars co-founders Bob Taylor and Kurt Listug reminisce about growing up in San Diego, California, their passion for music and making things, and how their paths first crossed at the hippie-vibed American Dream guitar shop. Bob recalls his obsession with building guitars as a teenager, and he and Kurt reveal the foundation of their successful and enduring partnership, which began when Bob was just 19 and Kurt was 21.
Recorded in the Taylor's home against a backdrop of sounds created by a nine-children family, Studs, Alice and Bob discuss aspects of a white family living in a predominately African-American amidst an exodus of the white, Christian community. Includes a performance of "Onward, Christian Soldiers" by the family around their piano, and "Jesus Loves Me" by two of the children.

Becoming Your Best | The Principles of Highly Successful Leaders
Statistics show that one in two veterans struggle to rejoin civilian life. Some fight silent battles against anxiety, depression, or PTSD; others don't even realize or admit they are struggling. For all of them, there are resources, answers, thousands of ears willing to listen, and hundreds of hands ready to help. It's our job to clear the path and spread the voice so this help can get to those who need it. Today, Bob Taylor joins us to raise awareness of veterans' mental health, spread an optimistic message for those transitioning from military to civilian life, and explain his service to success formula. Bob is the CEO and Founder of Alliant Healthcare and the Author of "From Service To Success: New Mission, New Purpose, and a New Journey to a Great Life." He served in the US Air Force for 21 years as a B-52 navigator, KC-135 navigator, and an Air Force Academy liaison officer. Bob's civilian life after service turned quite bumpy after a few years, which led him to develop mental health issues and deprived him and his family of his best version for almost 16 years. In understanding his struggle was the struggle of thousands of veterans, Bob found a new meaning and purpose for his life. Throughout this episode, you'll learn about Bob's inspiring story, the issues he had to deal with, and how he repurposed them into a whole new meaning in his life. You'll also hear about why Bob decided to join the Air Force, the values he learned there that helped him develop as an inspirational leader, the six years of research that birthed his book, his thoughts on the power of gratitude, and more. PART 2Feeling very grateful for the opportunity to sit down with Bob Taylor again. Part 2 goes deeper into Bob's reflection of his healing journey and practices that both veterans and civilians can use to heal and also reduce the staggering numbers of veteran suicide. Bob shares how he reframes his stress, how important it is not to isolate, what his healing funnel looks like, and how good it can be on the other side of healing. We are honored to be able to support Bob's efforts and energy with the Patriot Promise and hope that you will help spread these resources around the veteran community.Thank you for listening,Emma & BruceShow LinksPart 1 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pS-JY82q_ZY&t=530spatriotproject.orgvetsandplayers.orgMindful Monday 174 - There Is No Stress - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zs0b1g5W5uIGetting The Love You Want by Harville Hendrix, PhD, and Helen LaKelly Hunt, PhDHappy Days by Gabrielle Bernstein Blue Zones by Dan Buettner"Make A Friend Save A Veteran" article - https://usawire.com/make-a-friend-save-a-veteran-thank-you-for-your-service/
There is a very large problem in our veteran community - Every day, 640 veterans attempt suicide, 22 veterans die, and over 5,500 are thinking about committing suicide. In fact, more veterans died from suicide in a ten-year period than during the entire span of the Vietnam War. Approximately 48% of all military members struggle after transitioning from military service. They lose their team, their identity, their mission, the friends, their purpose. All with no more than a handshake and a thank you. While at the same time often facing a plethora of physical and mental health issues. While difficult and a big challenge, these struggles don't have to be, and should not be, the end of their story. There is a bright and successful future available for every veteran if we can help them help themselves to reach their greatest potential. In this part 1 of our 2 part series, Emma and Bruce are joined by Air Force Veteran, Bob Taylor. His book, From Service to Success, is a lifeline for veterans who seek to move past the pain and trauma of service and adapt to a new way of living. This book is also a resource for any civilian who knows a veteran or is connected to the military in anyway. The more awareness we can bring to these alarming numbers, the more we can break the stigma around mental health and move from a perspective of weakness and brokenness, to one of opportunity and growth, we can begin to get people the help they need. According to Bob, “We need to find forgiveness for ourselves, find a new purpose, learn new tools and skills, and press forward so we don't spend the rest of our lives in the darkness.” In From Service to Success, Bob Taylor explains that while it's very important for veterans to have the means to support themselves, it is absolutely critical that they learn ways to become a part of their community, to forgive themselves, to develop healthy living styles, and to grab onto the best that life has to offer. The three most important steps for veterans to take after reading From Service to Success: •Create a mindset of gratitude •Find a way to sleep through the night—if necessary, seek help to get there •Discover a purpose bigger than themselves We really enjoyed getting to know Bob and hearing how his own personal quest for healing has transformed his life as well as influencing the lives of so many around him.Part 2 will be available next week! Happy Thursday HPP Family!!The team went full throttle in July and recorded 5 shows. We loved all of them as we had football star Travis Kelce, recording artist Trevor Hall, author and Gulf War veteran Bob Taylor on talking about his new book “From Service to Success”. These are all great shows and we know you will love listening to them. We will be releasing these shows throughout August leading up to our NFL pre-season show with George the first week of September. This NFL HPP season is lining up to be very special. Of all of the shows we have recorded we chose to open the month of August with Yanti Amos, the Yogi-Ninja. Yanti and her story cross over so many interests and story lines that we believe everyone will enjoy it. Born in Australia to Indonesian parents, Yanti eventually became an international business lawyer working globally from countries in Asia as well as Europe. She was successful, making money, and thought she was living the life of her dreams. But a funny thing happened along the way. She woke up, literally. She was involved in an accident that left her laid up and forced her to take time off from work. In the space this provided she realized this was not the life she wanted and she was not the person she wanted to be. She left the practice of law and based on yoga sessions she experienced during her rehab, she got certified as a yoga instructor and within 6 years opened her own yoga studio in New York. From there the story takes some additional twists and turns eventually leading her to a black belt in karate, selling the studio, and then working fulltime with her husband in teaching Karate all over the world (as well as yoga through the Warrior Flow School). Please enjoy her humor, her wit, her resiliency, and her passion. Side note, in 2018 George and Bruce were in New York and attended a yoga class at Yanti's hot yoga studio!! Small world indeed. Enjoy the show and let's get pumped up for the 2023-24 NFL season!! Emma & Bruce-------Yanti Amos - https://www.yantiamos.comDonation Information: 1. In November, 1979, Robert Taylor, forestry worker and WWII veteran, experienced something terrifying in a clearing in the woods of Livingston, outside of Edinburgh, Scotland. This is perhaps the only UFO encounter formally investigated by police. Could there have been a reasonable explanation for what Bob Taylor experienced that day? Tell us what you think.
Bob Taylor is a former US Air Force Major who flew 11 combat missions during Operation Desert Storm as a B-52 navigator. He developed PTSD and has since written From Service to Success, a book that encourages vets to seek community, forgive themselves, and ultimately achieve their greatest potential. In this episode, Bob shares the stresses of combat, from hostile AAA to a close friendly fire incident to the sheer exhaustion of flying extended missions. Even away from the horrors on the ground, Bob endured hellish nightmares that affected all aspects of his life. Bob then turned to alcohol as self-help for 16 long years. When he finally went to the VA to get professional help, he was then prescribed SSRIs for 13 years. Recently, Bob discovered experimental treatments that utilize MDMA and psilocybin for the treatment of PTSD. Bob shares how the ritual cleansing washed away the anxiety that had gripped him on a spiritual, emotional, and psychological level for decades. Of the 22 million veterans, approximately 11 million are struggling, and a great majority feel that their struggle is theirs and theirs alone. Bob's message is that the tools of gratitude and compassion are what vets need to see the good in the world again and live fulfilled lives.
