[...] In this special episode of Sigma Duocast, host Rick dives into Netflix's bold and surreal mythological series Kaos. Back in October 2024, Rick sat down with actress Shila Ommi, who plays Pasiphae (Pas) in the series, for an interview originally recorded for the podcast UncleDad Talks. That interview was never released — until now.Together, we explore the twisted world of Kaos, a darkly comedic reimagining of Greek mythology created by Charlie Covell (The End of the F**ing World*). From Jeff Goldblum's paranoid Zeus to Shila Ommi's layered portrayal of Pas, the show blends satire, drama, and absurdity in a way unlike anything else on Netflix.Shila shares insights on stepping into the role of Pas, working alongside Jeff Goldblum, behind-the-scenes stories (yes, including those eerie wax figures), and what she hopes to see in future seasons of Kaos.Big thanks to UncleDad and Just Mike from UncleDad Talks for allowing this conversation to premiere here on Sigma Duocast. If you're a fan of mythology, dark comedy, or just love hearing artists break down their craft, you won't want to miss this episode.

Several challenges are raised against Shila’s interpretation of Rabbi Eliezer, who prohibits purchasing a red heifer from pagans based on a drasha on the word "vayikchu." The well-known story of Dama ben Netina—a non-Jew highlighted as a model for honoring one’s parents, illustrating the extent to which one must go to fulfill this mitzva—is cited in objection. This story raises questions both about Shila’s interpretation and about the alternative explanation that Rabbi Eliezer prohibits the purchase due to concerns about bestiality. Either way, if purchasing from pagans is not permitted, how did the rabbis intend to acquire the red heifer from Dama? Additional difficulties are posed against Rabbi Eliezer’s ruling that animals may not be purchased from pagans for sacrificial purposes.

You're not imagining it—your projects might actually be running you. If you've ever felt like your design clients are unclear, unsure, or unexpectedly intense mid-project, it's likely not a personality issue. It's a systems issue. In this episode, designer Shila Griffith of SG23 Design reveals the exact processes and boundaries that keep her projects running smooth, her team aligned, and her clients confident from start to finish. From her strategic intake forms to her “you paid for that three months ago” moment of bliss, Shila walks through the real-world fixes newer designers need to confidently lead their projects. This isn't about being cold or corporate—it's about clarity, structure, and trust. You'll learn: ✅ Why upfront pricing (yes, even 50%) calms client anxiety ✅ How to spot red flags in new client inquiries ✅ The conversation that prevents renovation freakouts before they happen ✅ What to say when clients want to buy their own stuff, and why boundaries boost your quality of life If you're an interior designer looking to finally feel in control of your client process (instead of constantly catching up), this is the episode that's going to help you get there.

Meine Kollegin Nina stellt uns die britische Serie “After Life" vor – rabenschwarzer Humor! We all get lonely sometimes. Some of us can be lonely while surrounded by people, and others of us might be lonely because we have no one else. And I'm not going to say either one is worse, but it's interesting to ask yourself which one you'd rather be. Welcome to the Just Dumb Enough Podcast. A show that acknowledges no one is always an expert, by dispelling misconceptions with real experts.  My guest today is Shila Patel. Doctor Patel was a psychiatrist for over 25 years, working with diverse ages and population along the east coast of the US. For about 15 years she was one of only two child psychiatrists in her area, able to watch and observe a generation of children becoming adults. She's since retired and written various books, one of which focuses on why we, the human race, are growing lonelier and choosing to not engage in relationships until much later, if at all. And as with most things in life these days, it's killing us. Unrelated, remember this is a featured podcast on the Podbean streaming service. Check it out if you're looking for a wonderful listening experience for all your favorite shows. They're helping me reach so many new listeners, who will hopefully also tell other people about the show... ( Www.DrShilaPatel.Com ) Let's address our isolation! I know it's a deeply uncomfortable premise, for whatever reason, but I think the best thing you can do after hearing this episode is to just call  any of your friends that maybe you haven't spoken to in a little while. It doesn't have to be a long lost friend or anything. I called one of my  best friends in the world just because it was nice to hear his voice instead of only texting him. The February rankings as we reach the end of the month are looking pretty close: 1. The United States, still led by New York, California, and Oregon. With a number of others very close behind. 2. Canada, with Quebec just barely over British Columbia.  3. Australia, still led by New South Wales. 4. England of The United Kingdom. 5. New Zealand, getting bumped down, but still hanging in there. That's it for this week! Have a great week, a great weekend, and I'll see you all back here next week for another new episode! Until the next episode, pretty please do all the things to help the show: rate, review, like, and subscribe.  Reach out to DumbEnoughPodcast@Gmail.Com or on any social media if you want to reach me personally. Most importantly, Stay Dumb!

Learn the principles, laws, or qualities of the soul as explained within Christic Buddhism: 1. DANA, the key of charity and love immortal. 2. SHILA, the key of Harmony in word and act, the key that counterbalances the cause and the effect, and leaves no further room for Karmic action. 3. KSHANTI, patience sweet, that nought can ruffle. 4. VIRAG, indifference to pleasure and to pain, illusion conquered, truth alone perceived. 5. VIRYA, the dauntless energy that fights its way to the supernal TRUTH, out of the mire of lies terrestrial. 6. DHYANA, whose golden gate once opened leads the Narjol toward the realm of Sat eternal and its ceaseless contemplation. 7. PRAJNA, the key to which makes of a man a god, creating him a Bodhisattva, son of the Dhyanis. ―The Voice of the Silence The final lecture of this course explains the Paramitas or Perfections of Mahayana Buddhism in relation to the Christic teachings: the fundamental principles in which a bodhisattva of compassion develops. Through the paramitas, the master sacrifices him or herself for humanity while developing bodhichitta: compassion for humanity and insight into the abstract nature of reality: the profound and limitless emptiness of the Absolute within Hebraic Kabbalah.
