To var lasīt dažādos līmeņos, arī kā divu jauniešu satikšanās stāstu, bet arī citos - to saka romāna tulkotāja no japāņu valodas Ingūna Beķere. Pats Murakami grāmatas pēcvārdā raksta: "Par šī romāna kodolu kļuva stāsts, ko 1980.gadā publicēja žurnāls "Bungakukai" ("Literārā pasaule"). Tas bija vidēja garuma stāsts (vai arī pagarāks īsromāns). Manis uzrakstīties romāni visi ir izdoti grāmatās, tikai šis darbs nav iznācis ne Japānā, ne kādā citā zemē." Stāsts rakstniekam tomēr nav devis mieru, pēc 40 gadiem viņš to pārrakstīja un atgriezās "tajā pilsētā". Haruki Murakami romānu "Pilsēta un tās nedrošie mūri" no japāņu valodas tulkojusi Ingūna Beķere, izdevusi "Zvaigzne ABC". Režisora Dāvja Sīmaņa jaunākā filma „Frankenšteins 2.0” savu pasaules pirmizrādi jau piedzīvojusi Jihlavas starptautiskajā dokumentālo filmu festivālā Čehijā. Latvijā filma pie skatītājiem nonāks nākamā gada sākumā. Par festivālā pieredzēto un „Frankenšteins 2.0” Kultūras rondo studijā izvaicāsim režisoru Dāvi Sīmani. Bet īsi pirms sarunas raidījumā Dāvis Sīmanis Kultūras akadēmijā atklāja ikgadējo starptautisko konferenču sēriju "Kultūras krustpunkti XIX". Un savā atklāšanas viņš bija ļoti tiešs un, varētu pat teikt, nesaudzīgs, runājot par kultūru un izglītību.  "Mums ir unikāla iespēja pieredzēt, kā cilvēki, kam esam deleģējuši varu, ir cilvēki bez kultūras, domāšanas, idejām, ar aukstu, trulu politisku aprēķinu, izrīkoties ar valsti, kā viņiem ienāk prātā. Šī situācija ir baisa," atklājot konferenci norādīja Dāvis Sīmanis. Turpinot domu, raidījumā viņš vērtē: "Domāju, ka mēs dzīvojam ļoti kritiskā brīdī un arī ļoti skumjā brīdī, kas, es ceru, pārtaps uz nākotni vērstā." Viņš norāda, ka konferencē vairāki pētnieki dažādos aspektos runās par to, kādā veidā kultūra var sasniegt sabiedrību, un kultūras satura pieejamība ir svarīga ikvienam. "Mēs redzam to, ka šobrīd sabiedrības intereses pārstāv vienkāršu saprātu ignorējoša politiska grupa, kura principā uzskata, ka tai ir dots mandāts izrīkoties ar mūsu nākotni, kā viņiem ienāk prātā," atzīst Dāvis Sīmanis.  "Šajā brīdī ir ļoti svarīgi, lai mēs būtu pietiekami gudri, pietiekami izglītoti, pietiekami bagāti savā kultūras spēkā, lai pateiktu, ka mēs tā negribam. Hayden Manis is also one of these children.   Hayden was around five years old when he went missing from  his home in Muncie, Indiana in either 2019 or 2020 (stories differ).  He was not reported missing for four to five years. Hayden's extended family realized that he was missing in 2024.  When Hayden's father Dustin was questioned about his son's whereabouts, he gave conflicting stories.  Dustin died in December 2024 from a drug overdose and left no clue as to what happened to Hayden. Welcome back, Herders! We have a wonderful episode on the critically endangered Pangolins and we want you to hear all about them! Pangolins, sometimes known as scaly anteaters, are mammals of the order Pholidota (/fɒlɪˈdoʊtə/). The one extant family, the Manidae, has three genera: Manis, Phataginus, and Smutsia. Manis comprises four species found in Asia, while Phataginus and Smutsia include two species each, all found in sub-Saharan Africa. These species range in size from 30 to 100 cm (12 to 39 in). Several extinct pangolin species are also known. In September 2023, nine species were reported.Pangolins have large, protective keratin scales, similar in material to fingernails and toenails, covering their skin; they are the only known mammals with this feature. Depending on the species, they live in hollow trees or burrows. Pangolins are nocturnal, and their diet consists of mainly ants and termites, which they capture using their long tongues. They tend to be solitary animals, meeting only to mate and produce a litter of one to three offspring, which they raise for about two years. Pangolins superficially resemble armadillos, though the two are not closely related; they have merely undergone convergent evolution.
