After you're done networking at a business networking event, the first thing you should do is immediately set up 1 to 1's with the people you found interesting in the room. In this episode, I'm going to walk you through 8 questions you should ask someone to do an effective 1 to 1 plus you're going to hear me do a real 1 to 1 with Johanna Hooper. Johanna is the CEO of Limited Peak Performance. I won't give a full background on Johanna because that's what our 1 to 1 will uncover.  The goal of a 1 to 1 is to give you the opportunity to get to know the person better and understand how you can help them reach their goals. In return, the other person is getting to know you and your business goals as well. Your job is to educate them, you should educate them like they're your mini sales person! I would avoid trying to sell to the person that you're meeting with and instead focus on building a relationship with them first.  I hope this episode inspires you to book in a 1 to 1 with someone you find interesting at your next event and if you need a list of questions to ask, you can find my questions in the podcast description. This episode is super special because you'll get to meet my two business partners for Cutclass, Leslie and Sho. In this episode we demonstrate a retrospective. A retrospective is an exercise that we do after a launch or project or at the end of the year. This exercise allows our team to talk about our desired outcomes, talk about what worked, what didn't work, what was missing, and most importantly show gratitude for one another and acknowledge one anothers contributions. Usually, I have a pretty structured episode flow, but this episode is going to be very much conversational, real, and organic. We haven't rehearsed any of the questions we're going to review today, so you're going to get a real behind the scenes look at how we run our business.  Before we get into the nitty gritty, let me give you a little background on 2 of my most favorite people and business besties, Les and Sho.  Les has launched over 50 brands, owns 2 businesses, Cutclass and a branding Agency called Brands Etcetera. While I focus on helping people build their business through networking and adding key foundational processes and systems in place, Leslie focuses on helping people transition from their 9-5 jobs to launching their own businesses.  Leslie has so many ways people can work with her, through her 10 week course called Out to Launch Academy or through her many free resources like her podcast called Out to Launch or through the many tips, tools, and strategies she's drips out on her TikTok account called Let Go and Discover.  Sho has also launched multiple brands and she too owns 2 businesses, Cutclass and her branding Agency with Les, Brands Etcetera. Sho is a design, branding, and art directing wizard. Everything that you see on our social channels, podcasts, website, business cards or opt-ins is touched and worked on by Sho. While she hangs out in the background of our brand, she is very much in the forefront of everything that we create. Our brand wouldn't be where it is today without her bringing our visions to life. If you haven't had the chance to catch up on that episode, pop back to episode 29 and give it a listen. And this week, you're going to get to meet another client and friend, Nadia Scott.  Nadia is the Managing Director for Geon Training Solutions. A government funded training provider in the North East of England. Nadia's team is responsible for drawing down funds from the government, creating training programmes for people that are out of employment or people that are seeking to upskill themselves. This training is geared to sectors that are most in need, meaning, these sectors are growing and need employees, however, people don't have the skills to enter that market. For example, the construction sector or digital sector are two areas of need, Nadia's team finds candidates for these sectors, provides them with training + qualifications they need, and then specs them out to these sectors with their respective employee partners.  They also offer a commercial programme for CPD units, one of their most recent clients in this area is: Greggs.  As you might imagine, there is A LOT that goes into the operations of Geon. From bidding for funds, to marketing to potential learners, to resourcing learners, to onboarding, nurturing, and offboarding learners, keeping track of tutors and timelines, to following compliance procedures and setting our employer partnerships…I mean, wow! It's A LOT to keep track of, right? In this episode, Nadia is going to share a bit about herself, her business, and what it's been like to work with me on her team. He'll share how our time together has leveled up his business game in terms of saving time and implementing a structure and system in place to keep all areas of his business under control. He'll even talk about how he lost business because he didn't have a system in place.  Fahmy is a rapper, Independent Artist, and CEO of The Street Coldest.  The Streets Coldest is a creative agency that is revolutionizing productivity and ease of access for independent artists within the music industry.  Their dedicated team of musical connoisseurs take on a number of projects with both new and established artists to grow fanbases through content creation in the form of videography and graphic design. With so many moving parts to his business, he needs a little guidance on how to exactly manage it all while also still keeping the money rolling in.  I wanted to do this episode for you because I know as we head into 2022 there are going to be several New Year resolutions that you might have for your business.  And if you've ever considered hiring a coach to help get you to the next stage in your business, I thought I would interview one of my client's so you can get a real behind the scenes look at what working with a coach like me could do to transform you and your business.  I focus on teaching small businesses how-to network to create connections, collaborations and of course sales for their business, but I also focus on teaching small business owners how to add foundational business structures and systems to view their business in one place. The benefit of this is that they can see every part of their business in one AREA. As a small business owner, one of the challenges that often comes up is: selling the things that we love to do and provide for the world. A lot of us start our businesses because we're great at a certain skillset, we're passionate about something we do, or we realize we really love to do something that's outside of a 9-5...and those somethings are monetized in some fashion, such as you really adore plants and gardens and maybe you've opened a flower shop, or maybe you binge podcasts so you decide to create a podcast, or maybe you geek out on fixing up your home and you open a handyman/handyperson business.  But when it comes time to sell what we love to do, it can be very confronting and challenging. Have you ever felt judged because of the way you looked or the type of job you have or because you're unemployed or a student? Or have you judged others and later felt bad about it? Getting judged and our judgments of others plays an integral role when you network for your small business. Sometimes people on the networking circuit often won't take the time to get to know another person because they think they might not add any value to their business and on the other hand, they will make a b-line to someone they think will give them tons of business. In both cases, the results aren't on par with what they originally thought.  I don't know about you, but I've sure have fallen victim to my own judgments of others. I've met people and then later spent more time with them...and realized they're actually great people. Not only were they great people, but they added immense value to my business. After finding out how wonderful they are and the value they added to my life and business, it really made me feel terrible for having judged them in the first place.  This is your friendly reminder that another human being can always teach you something, give you their time, expertise, or lend a helping hand in order to add value to your life and business. Value while it is subjective, it doesn't always equate to finances.  Tune into this episode to learn how to avoid writing people off while networking to build your small business.  To get in touch with Rochelle: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsrogroh/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RochelleGroh  What type of networker are you? Creating a business network isn't centered on generating sales. It's centered on how you can help the people around you and how well you can create and collaborate with others to leave the world a better place. And that's what this particular episode is all about: creating, collaborating, and leaving the world just that tiny bit better.  In this episode, I had the pleasure of collaborating with my friend Alison Qualter, founder of Press Play on Life, a coaching program focused on helping people to live more mindfully and joyfully, and gain clarity in their personal and professional development.  When you meet Alison, she instantly gives you that good vibe feeling. Her energy is so intoxicating it can withstand the test of time. Here are some areas where Alison shed's light:   How to add more play into your life. Play is often only reserved for children, but what would happen if you added it back into your life? How your ego can drive you, but your soul will whisper so loudly it can change your entire life course. We often aspire for the big house and fancy car, but what happens if we attain those things and throw it all away? And more importantly, what occurred to make that “throw it all away” action take place? How to believe in your confidence and how it can be used when you're “stuck” How people can make a conscious choice to make the most out of the 1 life they've been given. Alison has an awesome philosophy when it comes to business and life. I know what she shares today will not only help you on your networking journey, but whatever you are getting up to in your life.  To find out more about Alison: Website: https://www.alisonqualter.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alisonqualter/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/alison-qualter-berna-9a194931/ To get in touch with Rochelle: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsrogroh/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RochelleGroh What type of networker are you? When Things Don't Go to Plan

Last week I had planned to record 2 podcasts with guests. I had prepared everything, I did pre-interviews with my guests, did research on each of my guests, wrote introductions for them, and blocked out 3 hours in my day to get the recording and editing complete, but 1 guest didn't show up and the other had tech issues. My day didn't go to plan! I was a bit disappointed because I was excited to have some guests on the show for some fun and valuable content, but it just didn't work out. Have you ever had a day that just didn't pan out? When things don't go to plan, it can lead to big upsets. These upsets can last for minutes, hours, days, and even weeks. But what if you could choose to set a limit on these upsets?  If we set a limit on these upsets it'll keep us committed to what we are meant to do in the world. If we try to create work, meetings, or ANYTHING from a place of upset, that will bleed over into whatever we're creating.  In this episode, I talk about how my day didn't go to plan and what I chose to do about it.   To get in touch with Rochelle: 1 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itsrogroh/  2 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/RochelleGroh  3 What type of networker are you?
