Do you know the difference between neuromodulators and dermal fillers? Did you know "Botox" is simply a brand-name? In this highly anticipated episode, 15-year injectables veteran, Heidi Fell, RN explains best practices and provides invaluable advice for those who are looking into what I like to call "the elixir of the gods." I started "baby" Botox when I was around 28 and now I wish I had started sooner. You'll hear why as Heidi takes us through every step. We discuss men getting injectables and also the "weirdest" places people have fillers injected! BONUS YOUTUBE CONTENT for this episode! You will find footage at the end of the episode on my channel of Heidi injecting me with my neuromodulator of choice, Dysport. Whether you are contemplating, researching, or currently seeing a provider, make sure to listen in for Heidi's advice. She is the most talented in her field, at her level, without a doubt. This, of course, is my opinion; however, I'm extremely picky! So you will go into your first (or next) appointment armed with some serious new knowledge. If you are in the Houston area, Heidi is offering a free consultation ($50 value) to those who mention the podcast! You can contact Heidi and her assistant, Moon, here. "Women Supporting Women" seems to be on its' way out. At some point during the past two years, there are, in fact, women who have started undermining their colleagues, their friends, their boyfriend's ex... you get the picture. Why aren't we lifting each other up? Not all toxic relationships are romantic! So, what is toxic femininity? I turned to Ginger Dean, psychotherapist and founder of "Loving Me After We" to learn more; how to identify toxic feminine energy and to understand it - that it is routed in primal wounding, rooted in the idea that she "is not enough." Unfortunately, each women is on her own - there is no one coming to save us on a white horse... except for, guess who? YOUR OWN DANG SELF. So let's all get on board and dump the "Mean Girl" routine once and for all: it's difficult enough as it is for us all. Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! https://stephaniejoplin.com/

Women are steadily becoming the breadwinning powerhouses of the social media and branding landscape. For the first time in Lord knows how long, women influencers are getting the bigger brand deals. “But with great power comes great responsibility!”, they say! Cue digging 10 years into a 31-year-old's past to unearth random thoughts of an obscure Stanford co-ed. Still just a fledgling in this great big world, Christina Najjar (aka Tinx) likely never fathomed in a million years that anyone would care what she tweeted. “Tinx is climbing dangerously high on that success scale, so let's throw a banana peel at her feet.” This is how I imagine the scenario. “Let's knock these women with power down a few pegs so we can better digest them.” When my 10 year Facebook statuses pop up on my memories, I absolutely CRINGE. I was always projecting my own insecurities on to others, because I didn't understand myself yet. That is why having someone like Tinx is SO crucial for these 20-somethings: by her own admission, she's made the mistakes so you don't have to make them yourself. It's a platform she and I share and, let me just say, there is no part of my 21-year-old EQ that I want to recover. Tinx has come under fire for doing the very thing she set out to do: cultivating a safe space for women to ask questions and make mistakes. I hope this mini episode resonates with you all. Culturemap food editor and podcast host Eric Sandler really knows the way to my heart - talking about food! He has come up the ranks from a blogger to really making his mark as one of the most trusted food editors in the city. Heck, the state of Texas. We talk about how food service changed during the pandy with a shift towards safety protocols and outdoor dining and how the leaders in hospitality here in Houston really stepped up to help those that were out of work or furloughed. We discuss pet peeves in dining and go into detail about Eric's take on why seemingly popular restaurants might fail. I also talk about "chef ego" and why I think it's time to move away from "uppity" dining experiences. If you are at all into the food scene, wherever you are, this is the episode for you! Bianca Perez, aka "Yung Nihilist" has become a friend through MJ Corey and Marie from Between Two Salads," and tbh I couldn't be happier about it. I immediately was drawn to her incredibly straight forward attitude and her love of all things weird. I mean, I am definitely weird and I know I can be totally myself with Bianca. That is pretty much what happened during this episode. We both got baked and had a conversation and this was the result. The way this woman scours the internet to serve us the the absolute best memes and takes all the internet drams with a grain of salt is truly sensational. Oh, and she's a total Ariana Grande stan, so there's a discussion on that, too. Enjoy! Love the show? Subscribe, rate, review, and share! https://stephaniejoplin.com/

At some point in the last few years, you are sure to have come across Sabino Curcio's viral (and cultural) sensation called "Growing Up Italian." The platform (a podcast, YouTube Channel and various social media accounts like TikTok and Instagram) lovingly pokes fun at growing up in an Italian, first generation American household. The concept is clearly relatable to other cultures, as well, hitting the nail on the head with the majority of viewers and listeners. Sabino and I discuss the resurgence of cultural synergy amongst millenials and gen z, being raised in a strict, Catholic faith in an increasingly liberal climate, the "Nonna" phenomenon, working with family, and the inception of "Growing Up Italian" with his sister, Michela, and cousin, Rocco. Marisa Peer may very well be the most delightful, soothing and radiant woman I have met in many years. In all of my interviews, I am often the one commanding the room with questions, while politely deferring to the experts in their various subjects of mastery. In this episode, the tables turn. Marisa seems to know, intuitively, exactly what I (what we all, really) need to hear this Christmas season: about holiday FOMO, New Year's Eve traditions, the holiday “spirit,” (do we have to?!) and even that toxic “rise and grind” mentality with resolutions that inevitably come when the new year rolls around, setting expectations that will leave you feeling even more disheartened than before. In this special episode, RTT inventor Marisa leads us in one of her world-famous guided meditations and leaves us with an explanation as to why it is so important for us to forget what we've learned before about harnessing our power, and to simply begin “telling ourselves a better lie.” Enjoy! The keys to building your own empire are just ahead, on this episode of TLD with Christy Mack! Christy and I have been through a lot together over the past decade, so when I started TLD, I knew she had to be one of my first guests. Her wit and sarcasm (at my expense, typically), set her apart, of course, but I have always been so impressed with how she has handled her branding and finances right from the start of her career in porn. As a sex worker, it's often difficult to navigate these bumpy roads because, typically, you do not have a team of people behind you giving you advice. With the surge of women on OnlyFans and the like, I wanted to make sure men and women had a resource in Christy's expertise. Even if sex work is not your chosen profession or side hustle, you will absolutely benefit from her wealth of knowledge regarding executing a vision, staying the course, and setting boundaries. I always loved Logan Reed from afar. I first laid eyes on her at her father, Chris Reed's, funeral in June 2019. I saw her strength as she delivered the eulogy for a man I truly loved as a friend and mentor. I can only sympathize with Logan's pain of losing a parent at such a young age, a parent who was her soulmate and her best friend in life. I know so many of us out there have experienced loss and don't know where to find the strength to carry on. Logan talks to us about her abusive relationship that took a huge toll on her recovery, not only in grief but in addiction. A few short months after Chris's passing, Logan unexpectedly fell pregnant, and she knew life was about to change for her radically, yet again. So grab a box of tissues for this one, besties: Logan's perseverance, poise, and sense of family are what saved her, and it will save you, too.
