Ali (r.a.) onu son vasfında şöyle demiştir: "Onu aniden gören mehabetine kapılırdı. Onunla sohbet edip tanıyan onu hemen severdi." Bu hususlarda Allâh (c.c.) ona öyle özellikler ihsan etmiştir ki (dünya kurulduğundan bu yana) ondan başka hiç kimsede bunlar bulunmamıştır. Nebi (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurmuşlardır: “Kimde şu üç özellik bulunursa o kişi imânın tadını almıştır: Allâh ve Resûlü'nün kendisine diğer herkes-ten daha sevgili olması, sevdiği kişiyi sadece Allâh için sevmesi, Allâh kendisini küfürden kurtardıktan sonra tekrar küfre dönmekten, ateşe atılacakmışçasına nefret etmesi.”Yine Enes bin Mâlik (r.a.)'den rivayetle, Nebi (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurmuşlardır: “Hiçbir kul, beni ailesinden, malından ve bütün insanlardan daha çok sevmedikçe (kâmil) imân sâhibi ola-maz.” Hz. Ömer (r.a.): “Yâ Resûlallâh! Sen bana canımın dışında her şeyden daha sevgilisin!” dedi. Onun bu sözüne karşılık Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz: “Hayır, canımı kudret elinde tutan Allâh'a yemin ederim ki beni canından da çok sevmedikçe (kâmil) imân etmiş sayılmazsın!” buyurdu. Hz. Ömer (r.a.): “Vallâhi şimdi sen, bana canımdan da çok sevgilisin yâ Rasûlallâh!” dedi. Bunun üzerine Allâh Rasûlü: “İşte şimdi oldu ey Ömer!” buyurdu.İbn Abbas (r.a.)'in rivayetine göre, Nebi (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurmuşlardır: “Size, rızıklanmanız için nimetlerini gönderen Allâh'ı seviniz. Allâh'ı sevdiğiniz için beni sevin. Beni sevdiğiniz için de ehl-i beytimi sevin.” Muhabbet ve sevgi beslemenin sebebi, sa-dece Allâhü Teâlâ bizi rızıklandırdığı için değildir. Aslında O (c.c.)'un, sayısız, hesapsız nimet ihsâ-nı, nihayetsiz lütuf ve nimetleri vardır ki bunları saymaya gücümüz yetmez. Bütün nimet, servet ve devletler, yalnız ve yalnız O Rahmeten li'l-â-lemîn'in rahmet ve bereketindendir. Bunun için hepimizin O (c.c.)'a karşı nihayetsiz muhabbet ve sevgi beslemesi îcap eder. İbrahim el-Halebî (r.âleyh), Haleb-i Kebir adlı eserinde bunun müstehap olduğunu söylemiştir. Birinci rekâtında Fatiha-i Şerife'den sonra “Kafirun” suresi, ikinci rekâtında “İhlâs” suresi okunur. İbn Ebi Şeybe (r.âleyh), el-Musannef isimli eserinde bu konuyla ilgili olarak Peygamber (s.a.v.) Efendimiz'den naklen şu rivayete yer verir: “Sefere çıkmak isteyen kişinin, ailesine bırakacağı en hayırlı şey iki rekât namaz kılmaktır.” (İbn Ebi Şeybe)Enes b. Malik (r.a.)'den rivayete göre kendisi şöyle buyurdu: “Peygamber Efendimiz (s.a.v.) iki rekât namaz kılmadan konakladığı bir yerden ayrılmazdı.” (Sahih ibn Huzeyme) Yola çıkarken Allâh (c.c.) rızası için iki rekât namaz kılmak müstehap olduğu gibi yoldan döndüğünde de kerahat vakti değilse iki rekât namaz kılmak müstehaptır. Bu namazı yolculuğa çıkarken evde, yolculuktan döndükten sonra da mescitte kılmak daha faziletlidir. Yolculuğa çıkarken bu namazın kılınması; işlerini kolaylaştırması ve sağ salim, kazasız, belasız yuvasına kavuşturması için Allâhü Teâlâ Hazretlerine duâ etmek anlamı taşımaktadır. Yolculuktan döndükten sonra bu namazın kılınması ise; kişinin, eşine, dostuna, çoluk çocuğuna kavuştuğu için Allâhü Teâlâ Hazretlerine şükretmek anlamı taşımaktadır. Bunların yanı sıra bu namazın kılınmasında daha birçok hikmetler de vardır.(Sualli Cevaplı İslam Fıkhı, c.2, s.364-366)

Akâbe gecesinde katılanlardan biridir. Peygamber (s.a.v.) için katiblik yapardı. Hz. Ebu Hureyre (r.a.)'ın rivayet ettiği bir hadiste Peygamber (s.a.v.): “Abdullah b. Ravaha ne iyi birisidir” buyurmuştur. Bir başka hadisi şerifte ise Peygamber (s.a.v.) “Allâh İbn Ravaha'ya rahmet etsin. Zira o Meleklerin övündüğü meclisleri sever.” buyurdu. Peygamber (s.a.v.) hutbedeyken Hz. Abdullah bin Ravaha (r.a.) geldi. O sırada Peygamber (s.a.v.)'in “Oturun” dediğini işitti. Hz. Abdullah (r.a.) henüz mescidin dışında olmasına rağmen bulunduğu yerde oturuverdi. Hutbesini bitirince ona buyurdu ki: “Allâh, Allâh'a ve Resûlü'ne itaatini artırsın”Hz.Abdullah bin Ravaha (r.a.) hastalandı ve ona baygınlık geldi. Peygamber (s.a.v.) onu ziyaret ettiğinde şöyle buyurdu: “Allâh'ım! Onun eceli gelmişse bunu ona kolaylaştır. Eğer eceli gelmemişse ona şifa ver.” Bunun üzerine bir hafiflik hissetti. Hz. Enes (r.a.)'in rivayet ettiği bir hadiste: “Peygamber (s.a.v.) Umretu'l-Kaza'da Mekke'ye girerken Hz. Abdullah b. Ravaha (r.a.) onun önünde şu şiiri söylüyordu: “Çekilin kâfirler Nebi (s.a.v.)'in yolundan bugün, Vururuz yoksa boynunuzu inkâr etmiştiniz dün, Öyle bir vuruş ki ayırır gövdeden başı, Hatırlatmaz insana ne dost ne arkadaşı.” Bunun üzerine Hz. Ömer (r.a.) ona: “Ey Abdullah! Harem'de Allâh Resûlü (s.a.v.)'in huzurunda mı bu şiiri söylüyorsun?” dedi. Peygamber (s.a.v.)'de: “Bırak onu ey Ömer! Söylesin. Örümcek de kapının ağzına ev yaptı. Kureyş'in eşkiya ve bedbahtları silâh ve ışıklar ile dağın her tarafını dolaşıp mağaranın kapısına geldiler. Baktılar, yumurtalarla güvercinleri ve örümceği gördüler: “Buraya adam girmişe benzemez” dediler. İçlerinden birisi: “Hele bir içeri girip bakın. Belki buradadırlar” dedi. Umeyye bin Halef denilen melun dedi ki: “Görmüyor musunuz, burada Muhammed doğmadan önce örümcekler yuva yapmış ve güvercinler yumurtlamış.” Velhâsıl mağaranın kapısında bu haller varken içeri girip yoklamayı ahmaklık sayıp hiç kimse girmeye kalkışmadı. Dönüp gittiler. Enes bin Mâlik (r.a.)'den rivayet edilmiştir ki, Ebû Bekir Sıddık (r.a.): “Eğer kâfirlerden birisi ayaklarına baksaydı bizi görürdü” dedi. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Efendimiz buyurdu ki: “Ya Ebâ Bekir, sen ne zannediyorsun o iki kişi hususunda ki, onların üçüncüsü Hâkk Teâlâ Hazretleri olsun” buyurdu. Yâni Hâkk Teâlâ Hazretleri yoldaş olunca kâfirlerden zarar mı gelecektir, demektir.Rivayet ederler ki, Ebû Bekir Sıddık (r.a.) kendilerinin ardınca gelen kâfirleri görünce hüznü şiddetlendi. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Efendimiz için çok mahzun olup büyük bir ıstırâba düştü. Hz. Ebû Bekir (r.a.): “Eğer beni öldürürlerse ben yalnız bir kimseyim, ama sana bir zarar eriştirirlerse bütün ümmetin helâk olması lâzım gelir” dedi. Resûlullâh (s.a.v.) Efendimiz de: “Ya Ebâ Bekir! Lâ tahzen, innallâhe meanâ” dedi. Yâni: “Yâ Ebâ Bekir, mahzun olma.Muhakkak ki, Allâh bizimle berâberdir” buyurdu.(İmâm Kastalâni, Mevahib-ü Ledünniye, s.97-98)
