Critics have been brutal, calling it everything from "boneheaded" to an "unintentional comedy" — so Joshua puts it to the test. Joshua Hunter takes a trip back to the year 1996 for a review of James and the Giant Peach, Henry Selick's part-live-action, part-stop-motion adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved novel, produced by Tim Burton. The film follows orphaned James Henry Trotter as he escapes his cruel aunts and sets off on a fantastical journey to New York City inside a giant, magically animated peach, alongside a cast of oversized insect companions voiced by Richard Dreyfuss, Susan Sarandon, and Simon Callow. Joshua breaks down why the film's stop-motion visuals and offbeat storytelling still hold up nearly three decades later, digs into Randy Newman's score(how did I not know this was his score?), and gives his honest verdict on whether this one deserves its status as a certified-fresh family classic — or if it's aged like a rotten peach.

Can a drunken hip fracture actually turn your life around? Joshua Hunter reviews Late Bloomers, Lisa Steen's comedy-drama about Louise, an aimless 28-year-old Brooklyn musician whose reckless stumble lands her in physical therapy alongside Antonina, a cantankerous elderly Polish woman who speaks no English. No sugarcoating — Joshua gives it to you straight: is Karen Gillan's performance strong enough to carry a script that leans hard on familiar tropes, or does this one collapse under its own sentimentality?

Is this the worst thing Ashton Kutcher has ever starred in? Shockingly, the answer might be yes. Joshua Hunter revisits Killers, the 2010 action-comedy where Kutcher and Katherine Heigl play newlyweds whose marriage gets upended when it turns out he's a retired assassin with a target on his back. Joshua doesn't hold back — breaking down how flat and checked-out Kutcher's performance feels throughout, from the action beats (including a horrible fight against Rob Riggle) to the comedic timing, and why his chemistry with Heigl is shockingly absent in every way it needs to be to make this film work. Joshua gives his honest verdict: is this a fun, trashy watch worth revisiting, or a movie that should stay buried in the past where it belongs?

Joshua Hunter reviews Queen of the Ring, Ash Avildsen's biopic about Mildred Burke, the pioneering wrestler who broke into a sport banned for women across most of America and became the first million-dollar female athlete in history. Emily Bett Rickards leads the ensemble as Burke, with Josh Lucas playing her husband, promoter, & abuser Billy Wolfe, with fan favorite Walton Goggins rounding out the cast as promoter Jack Pfefer. Joshua breaks down whether the film's gonzo, genre-blending chaos earns the comparisons to Ready or Not, digs into Beetz's go-for-broke performance, and unpacks the stacked supporting cast including Heather Graham, Patricia Arquette, and Tom Felton.
