Remember Amy Clark from the early You Beauty days? The OG Ubies are about to squeal with delight because Mamamia's lifestyle editor is BACK! Amy's been on quite the beauty industry journey since we last saw her - from Adore Beauty to Alpha H, she's seen it all from behind the scenes. And honestly? Her skin looks even more incredible than it did 6 years ago. This week on The Formula, I'm catching up with Amy about her surprisingly minimal skincare routine (spoiler: she barely cleanses in the morning!), the juicy industry secrets she's picked up, and why that expensive serum might actually be the same formula as your drugstore favourite. Plus, Amy dishes on her most memorable celebrity interviews - including Trinny Woodall's iconic office visit complete with cigarettes and an instant bra size assessment - and shares her life-changing advice for anyone who's ever stood in the shower wondering "should I wash my hair today?" Forest Grove drugstore responded to city's ban on recreational alcohol by adopting the 'marijuana dispensary' model for medicinal booze, and opening a blind pig in the back. The city fathers were not amused, but when they tried to crack down, things did not go as they'd planned ...

The latest exhibit at the Tennessee State Museum, “Eight Days in Dayton: 100 Years of the Scopes Trial,” will be on display June 24–October 12, 2025. It offers a rich, immersive journey through the State of Tennessee v. John T. Scopes, one of the most iconic legal and cultural events in American history. In this episode, the museum's chief curator, Richard White, and K-12 education manager, Christopher Grisham, share details about the trial, discuss what makes this such a pivotal moment in Tennessee history, and take listeners behind the scenes of the planning and implementation of the exhibit and the educational tools that accompany it. The exhibit centers on the 1925 Scopes Trial in Dayton, Tennessee, where John T. Scopes, a Dayton high school teacher, was prosecuted under Tennessee's Butler Act for teaching human evolution—a law that prohibited denying biblical creation in public schools. Framed as a challenge to the constitutionality of the law, the trial was staged to ignite both legal and social debate over science versus religion. At the time, it was considered the trial of the century. The exhibit brings the courtroom battles to life and features photographs, tintypes, daguerreotypes, and enlarged press images of Scopes, Darrow, Bryan, and the Dayton community. Visitors will also find authentic courtroom furnishings from the trial, alongside the original microphone used for live radio transmission, the biology textbook Scopes used to teach evolution at Rhea County High School and the table and chairs from Robinson's Drugstore where local civic and business leaders met in May 1925 to hatch the idea of challenging the Butler Act in court. Archival trial documents and an engaging audiovisual history guide visitors through the unfolding drama and its aftermath. This episode is brought to you by The Citizens Bank.

Jess & Jenn ponder the future this week! We talk more about kids having birthday parties at beauty stores, and then: why beauty shopping at drugstores is so unpleasant; advice for switching hair stylists; layoffs at Estée Lauder Companies; Paulina Porizkova returning to Lauder; navigating trade shows; manicures featuring NFC (Near-Field Communication) chips; glycolic acid as deodorant (and a new version of whole body deodorant); and faux flower arrangements that are especially good for cat owners.Episode recap (with links to look up your medical providers' credentials): fatmascara.com/blog/ep-565Products mentioned in this episode: shopmy.us/collections/1269089Sponsor links & discount codes: fatmascara.com/sponsorsPrivate Facebook Group: Fat Mascara Raising a WandTikTok & Instagram: @fatmascara, @jenn_edit, @jessicamatlin + contributors @garrettmunce, @missjuleeSubmit a "Raise A Wand" product recommendation: text us or leave a voicemail at 646-481-8182 or email info@fatmascara.com Become a member at https://plus.acast.com/s/fatmascara. Walgreens has announced plans to shutter 1,200 of their US stores. It's the latest in a trend; CVS reported they would soon close 900 locations and Rite-Aid has already closed 500 stores after filing for bankruptcy. So why are the days of finding a brick-and-mortar pharmacy on every corner becoming more and more a thing of the past? FOX Business correspondent Lydia Hu breaks this down with FOX Business' Kelly Saberi in Chicago. They discuss consumer habits, invasive anti-theft protocols, and pharmacy competitors that are straining the success of America's drugstore chains. Photo Credit: AP Learn more about your ad choices.
