Y del toque recio del conjunto sonero pasamos a la grandiosa sonoridad de los jazz bands cubanos. El formato orquestal que con fuerza inusitada llegó a los salones y parques de diversiones de la isla a comienzos de los años 20 desde los Estados Unidos, trajo consigo géneros como el one step, el two step y el fox trot. Aunque muy pronto pasó a ser fuerte competencia para orquestas danzoneras y agrupaciones de sones ya, para la década siguiente, mostraba una notable "cubanización" incluyendo en sus partituras sones, guarachas, congas, montunos y boleros, entre otros tantos géneros del espectro rítmico cubano. Buen pretexto para volver a una de las jazz bands más notables de finales de los años 30. Fundada en 1937 la Orquesta "Casino de la Playa" efectuó muy pronto para la etiqueta Víctor, sus primeras grabaciones. El clásico danzón "Almendra" de Abelardito Valdés, nos permitirá iniciar este segmento con algunos de aquellos registros históricos. Aunque su cantante estrella fue Miguelito Valdés, durante los años 40 y 50 la "Casino de la Playa" le brindó acompañamiento a muchos otros vocalistas. Entre ellos el trompetista Walfredo de los Reyes, Antonio Cheché de la Cruz, Orlando Guerra "Cascarita" y Carlos Díaz. En la localidad villareña de Calabazar de Sagua, el 26 de septiembre de 1903, vio la luz Chanito Isidrón. Desde muy pequeño, como la inmensa mayoría de sus contemporáneos entregados al arte de la décima y el repentismo, fue puliendo su talento natural en fiestas familiares y en las típicas canturias. En pleno auge y esplendor la radio independiente, compartiendo micrófono junto a figuras de los años 40 como Clavelito, La Calandria, o el Indio Naborí, entre otros, su ingenio y fino humor le permitieron ganarse el reconocimiento popular como uno de los grandes cultivadores de un género que caló hondo en el campesinado cubano. Dos piezas de Chanito Isidrón grabadas durante su estancia en Puerto Rico. En su voz con las guitarras de Miguel Ojeda: "La mujer y el radio" y "Una cita en el bohío". Su presencia en la discografia cubana la descubrimos repartida en décimas, guarachas, puntos cubanos, o en simpáticas piezas como la titulada "Chino no son bobo" grabada para la etiqueta "Puchito" por Zoila Gómez y Aníbal de Mar con el respaldo de un conjunto típico campesino. Buen recuerdo para el también llamado "Rey del Punto Cubano". Chanito Isidrón falleció en La Habana en 23 de febrero de 1987. En los minutos finales la sonoridad más contemporánea de los jazz bands cubanos. Un lujo regresar siempre a la innovadora obra del gran Emiliano Salvador, retomada en un excelente trabajo discográfico producido en el 2000 bajo la conducción del maestro Juan Manuel Ceruto. Traduciendo es ponerse hablar de si alguien murió por una intoxicación sin buscar que le intoxicó.Lo peor es que ese periodismo del espectáculo se irrita con lo que queda de ejercicio profesional. El periodismo que critica y que cuestiona, sus legiones de seguidores víctimas de la sociedad del entretenimiento hacen el resto.El periodismo decente lucha hoy en el mundo entero. El demo iniciatico del grupo veía la luz por esas fechas sumando en poco tiempo otros talentos, cada uno con caminos independientes pero bien marcados por la afinidad musical, dando mayor sentido a la premisa que durante dos décadas han continuado defendiendo en los escenarios, dentro y fuera de Cuba : "interactuar es una fuerza". Músicos y vocalistas aportando, en plena libertad, la diversidad de sus mundos creativos recorriendo corrientes tan diversas como el funky, el rock, el folk, el jazz y, por supuesto, la música popular cubana, augurando nuevos aires a las tendencias más alternativas de la isla desde lo eminentemente bailable hasta lo más conceptual, vibrando en la misma frecuencia de una audiencia que vio reflejados en parte de su repertorio los asuntos claves que aún nos lastran como nación. Insostenible la inercia social, económica y política en la isla, Roberto Carcassés replanteó "Interactivo" en Madrid, la capital española. Poco tiempo antes de emigrar vio la luz el álbum "En Fa sostenido", producción del 2022, celebrando los 20 años de la banda en la escena. Buen momento para regresar al inmenso legado de Emiliano Salvador, figura indispensable en la evolución de la pianística cubana del siglo XX. "A Puerto Padre", clásico escrito por el desaparecido genio musical, dio título en el año 2000 a una formidable producción de la etiqueta Unicornio conducida musicalmente por el maestro Juan Manuel Ceruto. Regreso a la sonoridad de los legendarios big bands cubanos. De manera notable asumió la responsabilidad interpretativa de los temas de Emiliano el jóven pianista Tony Pérez, por entonces uno de los talentos más prometedores del ámbito jazzístico. "Danza para cuatro" y "En una volanta actual" son los cortes que escogemos para seguir viaje por el catálogo sonoro de Cuba. Aprovecharemos los próximos minutos para regresar a la era dorada de la discografia independiente cubana teniendo como referente el sonido de los conjuntos soneros. El paso de los años 40 a los 50 en los catálogos de las etiquetas independientes Panart y Puchito nos devuelve el cambio de guardia que provocó la decisión del tresero Arsenio Rodríguez de trasladarse definitivamente a los Estados Unidos en 1951. El conjunto del ciego maravilloso, rebautizado con el nombre del trompetista Felix Chappotín, con un concepto rítmico y armónico más abierto y renovador, deslumbró a su fanaticada desde las producciones de Ramón Sabat y Jesús Gorís respectivamente. Volvemos a otro importante cambio de guardia en el devenir de los conjuntos soneros. Nuevamente nos valemos de los catálogos Panart y Puchito para recordar la transformación del conjunto de Ernesto Grenet en el conjunto del músico matancero Senén Suárez. Marcó la sonoridad de ambas agrupaciones el cantante cienfueguero Laíto Sureda. En 1950 la agrupación liderada por Grenet pasó a manos de Senén Suárez adoptando el nombre del guitarrista y compositor. Registros históricos que vale la pena recordar.
