Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are here tonight, Sat, April 17th., 2021, to breakdown the ‘UFC VEGAS 24: ‘WHITTAKER VS GASTELUM’ event & discuss some of the action from the Triller ‘PAUL VS. ASKREN’ Boxing PPV event, too. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. (SPOILERS...) Returning to the octagon for the main event, we had a middleweight clash between Robert ‘The Reaper’ Whittaker, aka: Bobby Knuckles, who was coming at this bout on a two-fight win streak, with a 22-5 career record and Kelvin Gastelum, who was coming off a victory to Ian Heinisch at UFC 258, he now carries a 17-6 career record. In the co-main, we had anticipated a lightweight bout between Drakkar Klose, and Jeremy Stephens, but in an odd turn of events that bout was cancelled at the last minute due to an injury Klose incurred due to a shove from Stephens at the weigh-ins. Prior to that, in our new co-main event, we had a surprising decision victory by fight veteran, Andrei Arlovski over the oddsmakers favorite, Chase Sherman. Prior to this decision, we had a six out of our ten-bout card end in various types of decisions. Our two finishes included an exciting KO/TKO via left hook and hammerfist at the one and a half minute mark of the second round between Tony Gravely and Anthony Birchak in our opening prelim, as well as a sweet Power Guillotine Choke just two minutes into the first round when Gerald Meerschaert faced Bartosz Gabinski. Overall, this now whittled down 10-bout card saw that one exhilarating first round KO/TKO finish, as well as that one submission, and eight decisions - including four Split (one technical), and a five-round Decision for our main event. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Tony Gravely and Gerald Meerschaert; FOTN honors went to Robert Whittaker vs. Kelvin Gastelum. Not only did we enjoy a UFC Fight Night, we also had that big PPV Boxing Event/music concert tonight from the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA, promoted by Triller Fight Club and headlined by social media superstar Jake Paul (2-0, 2 KOs) in an eight-round professional bout versus former Bellator and ONE champion Ben Askren, who was making his pro boxing debut. What a night of fights we have to share with you, join us to discuss all the action... Zane Simon & Connor Ruebusch are back with the MMA Vivisection PRELIMS SHOW, breaking down a set of seven bouts on this now 12-bout UFC VEGAS 24: 'Gastelum vs Whittaker' Preliminary Card. "Another card that doesn’t seem likely to electrify fans—at least not on the face of it. Robert Whittaker is hoping to keep his spot as middleweight’s de facto top contender against Kelvin Gastelum in the main event. Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado are back to breakdown the card with hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. Sign up for #ESPN+ and watch #UFCVEGAS13: #SANTOSVSTEIXEIRA - #UFCAPEX — Nov. 7th., 2020 at: http://go.web.plus.espn.com/c/482924/566982/9070?sharedid=BloodyElbow Tonight, Sat., Nov. 7th., '20, the UFC showcased a card featuring a Light HeavyWeight bout. We had Thiago “Marreta” Santos vs. Glover Teixeira going at it in the main event of the UFC VEGAS 13 card. Overall, this 10-bout card saw 3 swift finishes in Rd 1, 4 subs, a total of 3 KO/TKOs, & 3 decisions. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Giga Chikadze & Alexander Romanov; FOTN honors went to Raoni Barcelos vs. Khalid Taha tonight. What a wild night full of fights we have to share with you, we even almost watched an ear ripped off a guy, crazy! Thiago Santos, entered the octagon as the #1 Ranked UFC Light HeavyWeight, making him an easy favorite, despite having lost his last bout against Jon Jones at UFC 239; via controversial Split Decision back in July of '19. Prior to that, he was on a 4-fight win streak. He now holds a 21-7 record. The 36-yr-old Brazilian brawler fighting with the Tata Fight Team in Rio, was pitted up against our opponent, the #3 current best Light HeavyWeight veteran: Glover Teixeira. Our Brazilian-American combatant, was on a 4-fight win streak, holding an impressive 31-7 fight record, & entered the octagon a slight underdog. The 41-year-old grappler had no height or reach advantage going for him in his efforts to defeat Santos tonight, as they are both 6’2” tall with a 76” reach... but that didn’t matter when it was all said & done. Also on the card, a HeavyWeight scrap for our co-main event; it was a battle between the younger competitor, Tanner ‘The Bulldozer’ Boser, who entered the octagon a moderate fave with his 2-fight win streak, boasting a 19-6 record at 29-yrs of age; taking on a solid competitor in fight veteran, Andrei ‘The Pitbull’ Arlovski, with a 29-19 fight record, at 41-yrs of age, coming at this bout under the banner of American Top Team, having won his last bout against Philipe Lins earlier this year in May, via Unanimous Decision. As if that’s not enough, we also had an exciting, heavily anticipated women’s StrawWeight tilt between Cláudia Gadelha, who faced off against up-n-comer, Xiaonan Yan - which was preceded by a fully-packed undercard; Join us to discuss all the action... Here’s a look at the UFC VEGAS 13 RESULTS & UPDATED FIGHT RECORDS: ESPN+/ESPN2 MAIN CARD | SAT. NOV 7 10. Glover Teixeira (32-7) DEF. With all the UFC 200 talk, it's been easy to overlook UFC Fight Night 90. Rear Naked Choke Radio's Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jason Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) took a look a UFC Fight Night 90 competitors and betting lines. They want you to make better bets, optimize your opinions and limit risk. UFC Fight Night 90 takes place on July 7 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The event features a main-event lightweight title fight between the champ, Rafael dos Anjos, and the challenger, Eddie Alvarez. Rizzo and Kelly examined the bout and the betting line, which lists the former Bellator lightweight champion as quite a significant underdog to dos Anjos. Other fights discussed on UFC Fight Night 90 were Roy Nelson meeting Derrick Lewis in a heavyweight tilt, Anthony Birchak facing Dileno Lopes, John Makdessi taking on Mehdi Baghdad, and Gilbert Burns vs. Å?ukasz Sajewski. Rizzo and Kelly also took a quick look at the remaining bouts, betting lines and over/unders on UFC Fight Night 90. Anthony Birchak, the UFC bantamweight and our pal, joined Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA) to catch up on being a dad, being a fighter and being a gym owner, as well as give his thoughts on the media and their shenanigans. Birchak (@ABirchakMMA) was let down his guard and allowed feelings flow about being a father and how life has changed since turning 30. "El Toro" talked about being away from his children for Father's Day in order to fight Dileno Lopes at UFC Fight Night 90 on July 7 in Las Vegas and how it motivates him to show his kids how to strive and sacrifice to achieve their goals. On a lighter note, Birchak recalled being mistreated by the media and how he's learned to refrain from saying what's really on his mind. He talked about a certain Periscope incident was blown out of proportion and Birchak explained how his wife now screens his tweets from time to time. Being a mixed martial artist, part-owner of Luta Elite Management and having other business endeavors wasn't enough to keep Birchak busy, so he is opening a 10th Planet gym in Tuscon, Ariz. Birchak talked about the facility and how the opportunity came about, as well as a possible promo video coming former Kelly co-host and battle rapper Corey Charron. Prior to competing in mixed martial arts, he was an NCAA division II wrestler. He joins the Mind Of The Warrior to discuss the proposed ban on IV fluids by the UFC and the United States Anti-Doping Association (USADA). The USADA IV fluid ban, set to go into effect in the UFC in October, would prohibit fighter from receiving more than 50ml if intravenous fluid. The purpose for the ban, how it is to be implemented, and how it will affect fighter safety, has been the subject of much recent debate. Anthony Birchak, in RNC Radio tradition, re-joins the show a week after appearing ahead of his performance at UFC New Orleans. Birchak (@ABirchakMMA) finished JOe Soto in 97 seconds as part of an epic UFC card. It was one of seven first-round finishes on the night. RNC Radio (@RNCRadio) has a rich tradition of bringing back a guest from the previous week's show, giving listeners the unique perspective of hearing fighters before and after. Birchak (12-2) was driving through the desert while he took time to talk with Joe Rizzo (@RearNakedChoke) and Jay Kelly (@JayKellyMMA). He was on his way to the UFC offices to talk about what is coming next for him in the competitive bantamweight division.
UFC's Anthony Birchak and MMA Mania's Michael Stets provided a fun and free show. Birchak, a man who is admittedly looking for a fight, thinks he will get one when he meets Joe Soto at UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 68 in New Orleans. The pair of combatants were scheduled to meet in their UFC debuts, but outside circumstances led to Birchak taking the night off and Soto getting a last-minute title shot. Now, after Soto lost to UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw and Birchak lost to Ian Entwistle, they both sit at 0-1 in the UFC and "El Toro" believes this will be the fight he's looking for. The former MFC champ, who was stripped of his belt for odd reasons, spoke on his exit from the Alberta-based promotion, what he hopes to accomplish in the realm of sports management with Luta Elite, the debacle that is Jon Jones and much more in a revealing one-on-one interview. Stets joined the show to talk about the weekend in combat sports, but the conversation quickly turned into a humorous chat about 1980s martial arts movies and Seinfeld. Ninja topics were covered, but they managed to highlight UFC: Ultimate Fight Night 68 and Glory 22, yet stay with the theme of fun. Join us. Have fun. Admission is free.

Anthony Birchak discusses his career as well as his championship fight at MFC 38: Behind Enemy Lines which goes down October 4th, live on AXS TV. Holding an impressive 10-1 professional record, Birchak has quickly made a name for himself by defeating talented competitors such as Ryan Benoit and Matt Leyva.
On this episode of MMA Cypher Radio on the MMA DieHards Radio Network, hosts Jason Kelly (Twitter: @JayMMADieHards) and Corey Charron (Twitter: @charronkotd) welcome a trio of superb guests. First up is Anthony Birchak (Twitter: @abirchakmma). Birchak put on one of the most exciting performances of the year at MFC 37, when he defeated Ryan Benoit via decision in a 25-minute brawl. The victory set up Birchak for a MFC bantamweight title shot at MFC 38 against Tito Jones on Oct. 4 at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. The card includes three title fights, therefore, the MFC has left it up to the fans to decide who fills the coveted main event slot. To vote for Birchak, fans can log on the Fakebook.com and “Like” the photo in the hyperlink or hit up Twitter and tweet, “@MaximumFighting @abirchakmma #MFC #MFC38 #Bantamweight.” Friend of the show, Alex Gasson (Twitter: @Pecker17) also lent some time to talk MMA, Ontario combat sports and share some hilarious stories as usual. Owner of Pecker Promotions and manager of Adrenaline Training Centre, Gasson was busy promoting grappling tournaments and MMA events earlier in the year, but has been relatively quiet as of late. However, he made us aware something is in the works, so be on the lookout for Gasson’s upcoming projects. To cap the show off, Provincial Fighting Championships president Jamie Champion (Twitter: @JamieChampion) informed us on the details surrounding the promotion’s inaugural event. PFC 1 is taking place on Oct. 26 at the Agrilex Building at the Western Fair District in London, Ontario. The event is headlined by MMA veteran Chris Horodecki, and showcases a plethora of talent from the venue’s locale. Champion shed some light on constructing an MMA event, as well as some of the talent the Muay Thai practitioner hired in the front office.
