Ben Mudge has been coaching for 14 years and his platforms are all about making health and fitness easier. His new book Fitness Without Limits – training to break through barriers and live fearlessly is available now. This is Ben's hat trick appearance on the podcast. Ben has Cystic Fibrosis and on top of being an inspiration for so many, I personally get so much from every conversation we have; so definitely check out previous episodes with this incredible human being if you haven't already. Here are some of the things we talked about in today's show: · Comparison can be detrimental to personal growth and happiness. · Life experiences should take precedence over physical appearance. · Worrying is a waste of imagination and energy. · Memories are more important than physical achievements. · It's essential to break free from restrictive mindsets around food and fitness. · Perspective shifts can empower individuals to make better choices. · Coaching should focus on helping clients find their own answers. Understanding individual needs is crucial for effective coaching. · Disordered eating can normalize unhealthy behaviors. · No food should be off limits to promote a healthy relationship with food. · Mental health is foundational for overall well-being and coaching success. · Life is chaotic; we must adapt our expectations accordingly. · Food is more than just fuel; it carries emotional significance. · Coaches provide accountability and structure, but clients must empower themselves. · A problem shared is a problem halved; don't minimize your struggles. Ben Mudge – Fitness with no limits. Cystic fibrosis and mental health...with TRE's Selina MacKenzie
Diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as a baby, Ben Mudge was told he could be dead before his twenties and faced a short and sedentary life. Thankfully, Ben's life today is very different from the one medical professionals told him he could have. Refusing to let his illness define him, Ben reinvented himself through fitness, and devoted himself to exploring – and appreciating – what he can do. That approach has taken him through some incredible experiences ranging from competitive bodybuilding and fitness modelling, to getting recognition as a fitness influencer, to daredevil highlining in Scotland, to working as a health and fitness coach, which he does with compassion and care. Now — with me as his writing partner — Ben has authored a new book, called Fitness Without Limits: Training to break through obstacles, live without fear, and find a better you. In this podcast episode, Ben shares his story, and offers some practical wisdom for anyone looking to break through limitations and get more out of life. Topics we cover: - What it was like growing up with CF and being told he wouldn't make it to twenty years old - Why getting and staying fit is actually WAY less complicated (and less sexy) than you probably think it is - What Ben learned from bodybuilding and getting super lean — and how he stopped judging and shaming his body - How Ben overcame feeling like he needed to hide who he was in order to be a successful fitness coach, and why he lets his nerd flag fly - Ben's most terrifying moment and the pact he made with himself that changed his life - Why you don't need to be perfect (far from it) to get good results - Why Ben chose to work with a ghostwriter (i.e. me) to write his first book, and what the process was like - How to get unstuck and get past the limitations that stand in your way Check out Ben's new book here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Fitness-Without-Limits-Training-obstacles/dp/1408733617 Find Ben on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/benmudge_
Ben Mudge is known around the world for his inspirational journey with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disorder that primarily affects the lungs. As an advocate for raising awareness about CF, sharing his story and fitness journey on social media where he has amassed a significant following, Ben has inspired hundreds of thousands of people lead healthy and active lives, and his positive attitude, resilience and commitment to making the best out of any situation is a beacon of hope and inspiration to all of us to squeeze every second of happiness out of each day.In a life-affirming interview with Unfiltered editor-in-chief Joe Warner, Ben discusses the reality of living with cystic fibrosis; how he copes with the pressures of being a role model to fellow CF sufferers, including very young children, and their families; how he's dealt with a lifetime of uncertainty over his own mortality; the role his parents played in giving him the best childhood possible; his hopes for the future and why everyone, especially men, need to talk more about how they're feeling. And in a call-to-arms for everyone, everywhere, Ben explains the magic of taking yourself outside of your comfort zone, and why everyone needs to be just a little bit braver to experience the sheer joy that comes from trying something that has always seemed just out of reach. For exclusive access to all Unfiltered's video interviews, features and documentaries visit https://unfilteredonline.com/Get in touch in the comments below or talk to us on:Email: editorial@unfilteredonline.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGSV7XVaBYUYq5YidLI12owInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/unfiltered.extraTwitter: https://twitter.com/UnfilteredExtra
Welcome to the First Rank Fire! podcast. A podcast where I get the opportunity to chat with some of the best people throughout the Warhammer 40k community. In this episode I got the opportunity to chat with an actual hero in the hobby world. Some call him Thor, most call him Ben Mudge. We chatted about such a variety of subjects throughout the episode and I especially enjoyed learning more about Cystic Fibrosis and how it impacts on Ben's life. This chat was genuinely inspiring for me and have really given me an extra push to look after myself a bit better. As always, please feel free to get in contact with me. Chatting with everyone has been a real highlight over the time I've been making the podcast and I'd love to chat more. We've now also got a discord server to make it even easier (link below)! Ben Mudge joins Tim and Steve again to emphasize the importance of appreciating what we have and cultivating a positive internal dialogue. Ben encourages his clients to focus on the things their bodies can do, rather than what they can't do, in order to improve their mental health. The conversation ties in with the quote from Marcus Aurelius about the privilege of being alive on this week's KYW episode. Quotes and timestamps: 00:13 - "We want to make that place in your head the nicest environment it can possibly be." 03:51 - "If you had to speak out every thought you had about yourself in front of your family and the people who loved you, would you be confident to say those things that you're saying about yourself?" 06:35 - "That was the glimpse into the future for me that most people don't get." 08:48 - "That fight is in your mind, and yes, you are a tough man, but really it comes from a soft source. It comes from love." 10:33 - "Thank GOD for life. I just want it so bad. I want my family, I want my happiness, and I'm going to pursue it with everything I got." 14:48 - "Can we not agree that 20% is better than zero?" 15:06 - "All of us that have that fighter mindset, we don't win every fight, we just don't go down."

It was an absolute pleasure to have this guy as a guest on this weeks Strength Chat. In this episode I was joined by online coach, and some say the Thor of the fitness world, Ben Mudge. As a coaches, we only see the potential in clients and are there to help and support them to reach their goals. To see how Ben has does this, as well as managing his own obstacles and challenges, is awesome to see. Therefore, in this episode, we chatted about his journey with cystic fibrosis, not judging a book by it's cover and becoming the person you want to be. In this episode of the Self Made Podcast, it is a pleasure to welcome Ben Mudge to the show. I met Ben many years ago at a Body Power event in Birmingham where we were both representing supplement companies. What stood out to me about the man is how much time he took with everyone who approached him. Thousands of people at this event and he took the time with every single one and this really shows you the type of person he is. Delve a little bit deeper though and you realise how inspiring he really is! Suffering from Cystic Fibrosis a condition that dramatically impacts his lung function many would feel they were dealt a bad hand but Ben's self-professed stubbornness wouldn't allow this to happen! He devoted himself to getting healthier and not being a slave to his circumstances and it is because of this he has taken his lung function from 66% up to 97%!!In this episode, we discuss living with CF, his training and nutrition that have helped him stay healthy and most importantly his sleep routine! But as Ben says at the start of the show he is more than just his training and nutrition and this episode shows the full scope of his personality from Ja rule to the MCU and even to Warhammer this is a man of many interests. If you want to know more about Ben you can find him on Instagram @benmudge_ as well as his business page @bemoreuniversity on Instagram (no, do not accidentally follow Chris Hemsworth I know they look alike). As always if you want to know more about my work you can follow me @kingsleydutton and if you enjoy the episode please share on socials tagging me and Ben.Support the show
This week Mathias and Daniel are sitting down with Ben Mudge, Ben catapulted into the limelight in 2017 with his "Thursday Thorsday '' Instagram posts and his uncanny resemblance to the popular Marvel character played by Chris Hemsworth. As a person with Cystic Fibrosis Ben used this attention two raise awareness for the genetic disorder as well as inspire people to live more active and healthy lives; something he continues to do today as a personal trainer and nutritionist. Together with the boys Ben will be delving deep into the character of Thor and crucially the differences between his Marvel and Mythological portrayal in a new segment we're calling, "Marvel versus Myth." If any of our more musically inclined listeners wanted to take a whack at making a theme for the new segment we would be happy to shout you out on the show. Shan tried but well, it's complicated. Ben Mudge shares how his work on the season 1 set of Game Of Thrones turned into a career in fitness. Ben may look like Thor but shares how his battle with Cystic Fibrosis leaves him identifying more with Captain America. We discuss our recent T Nation article collaboration and philosophy of sharing and abundance mindset. We discuss how Ben's approach to media leaves him more influential and sharing better information to where he's beating the "influencers" at their own game. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/thefitnessdevil/support
Ben Mudge on Training, Motivation, Cystic Fibrosis and Life Perspective.
Jackie Kay is the national poet of Scotland and has taken her Makar duties seriously. She has written a weekly poem during lockdown, brought art into people’s homes with the broadcast Makar to Makar and written about the Black Lives Matter protests. She joins Richard Coles and Bridgitte Tetteh to discuss the timely reissue of her play The Lamplighter which follows five characters who are sold into the British slave trade. Emily Kolltveit was the lead singer of a goth metal band for nearly a decade before she joined the priesthood. Her tour schedule saw her perform in beautiful churches around Europe, awakening an interest in God. Emily has started her new role at a church in Primrose Hill, London where she wants to spread the message of social justice. Personal trainer Ben Mudge has always lived with the threat of a deadly lung infection, having grown up with Cystic Fibrosis. Despite this, he has been the cover model for Men’s Fitness magazine and, because he looks remarkably like the Marvel character Thor, he dresses up to inspire children and other people with Cystic Fibrosis. Writer and performer Amrou Al-Kadhi founded the drag troupe Denim, whilst studying at Cambridge. Amrou recently won the Somerset Maugham Award for young writers for their memoir Life as a Unicorn which describes their transformation from a god-fearing Muslim boy to a drag queen, strutting the stage in seven-inch heels and saying the things nobody else dares to. And we have the Inheritance Tracks of singer and ex-Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley. Producer: Laura Northedge Editor: Eleanor Garland

Ben streamed in from his home in Belfast, Norther Ireland for this episode of the experience. I first come across Ben a few years back. At first I was impressed with his unbelievable physique & athleticism before becoming completely inspired by the knowledge he also suffered from Cystic Fibrosis like myself. Having a striking resemblance to Australia's very own Chris Hemsworth and the physique of a superhero, Ben took to social media dressed as Thor and has since been regarded by many of his followers as Cystic Fibrosis' very own superhero. Ben has used his social media platform to inspire children & adults alike to be proud of their Cystic Fibrosis and many others to improve their health. With this episode we hope to inspire others and I highly recommend anyone with CF to join Ben on social media and at his new website CFSTRENGTH.COM. Listen in and please understand the audio wont be as clear as other episodes as this was done over zoom but enjoy the power of this conversation.
What Ben Mudge has done both physically and with his business, would be hard for anyone. He is one of the top online personal trainers, with hundreds of thousands of loyal followers. But now, add in the fact that he has the terminal disease Cystic Fibrosis. A disease that makes it hard to just get out of bed, and has been compared to breathing through a straw.⠀⠀Ben has defied the odds, and doctors. He fought back at this destructive disease that he's had since birth. A lot of you know Cystic Fibrosis has been something very close to my life, with both my siblings being born with it and it ultimately taking my sisters life, so I know first hand just how debilitating the disease is. ⠀⠀His story is brave and so inspiring. Fitness Unfiltered ep. 38 On this episode we are honoured to be joined by Ben Mudge. The word inspirational is often banded around the hallowed ground of social media, but there are few people who deserve the description as much as Ben does. Ben is a coach from Northern Ireland who has made huge waves on social media with his positive approach to life, health and self improvement, not to mention the fact he looks like Thor. He also happens to have Cystic Fibrosis, and has used his platform not only to raise awareness of the condition, but also to inspire and help people with CF to improve their health and lifestyles. He's also one of the nicest people we've ever met, and we couldn't be happier to share his story with you on this episode. Except Dr Mike, who is furious about not getting the chance to host it.
