Prioritizing mental health in your organization is critical for student leaders! At 28, William Walker has worn a lot of titles—author, fraternity president, cancer survivor, board chair. But the most honest title might be: in process. He was 22 and had his whole life planned—until cancer stole his vision. Will was 5 when leukemia first taught him that life doesn't follow your timeline. He has rebuilt his life through vulnerability, structure, and community support—and that rebuilding process becomes the foundation for leading others through their darkest moments. In episode 590 of the Fraternity Foodie Podcast, we find out how Will's experiences with leukemia, bipolar disorder, and leadership roles in Phi Kappa Psi shaped the way he views leadership today, what he means when he says his struggles qualified him for leadership, what are the early warning signs of a personal crisis within your student organization, how vulnerability, structure, and community support helped him to rebuild, what crisis taught him about leading when no one's watching, what does "creative capital steward" mean, a moment when a dream he had for his life died and what replaced it, how storytelling, journaling, or poetry actually make us better leaders, and how to prioritize mental health in your organization. Enjoy! Connect with Will on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/william-walker-fpqp%C2%AE-a82a3534b/

Niko Moon is a country pop singer known for upbeat and positive songs like "Good Time" and "Better Days." Behind those feel-good songs, though, are some tough times. He's struggled with anxiety and panic attacks, and he almost quit music when he couldn't break into the industry. But he found help with therapy, and now he establishes simple daily routines that help him build mental strength. Some of the things he talks about today are: How he figured out he needed professional help The difficulties he endured that caused heartbreak How he overcame the stigma associated with therapy Why it may take four different therapists before you find one who is a good match for you The most important lessons he learned in therapy (and the one thing he overlooked but he says is probably obvious to everyone else) The importance of having a structured daily routine The simple morning and bedtime routines that were game-changers for him Why he keeps his music so positive Subscribe to Mentally Stronger Premium — Get weekly bonus episodes, monthly bonus content, and cool gifts (like signed books)! This week, Jason is joined by entrepreneur, real estate agent, podcast host, and reality TV star, Savannah Chrisley! Over the past 10 years, Savannah and her family gained recognition for their rapid success from their hit reality show, Chrisley Knows Best, with over 200 episodes and several successful spinoffs including Growing Up Chrisley, which featured Savannah and her brother as the stars of the show. Since then, Savannah leveraged her reality TV success with various entrepreneurial endeavors, including starting her own personal beauty brand, hosting her own podcast, and starting her own luxury reality company in Nashville. Although her career accolades have proven Savannah's ability to succeed in whatever she puts her mind to, she has to endure it all through unique personal struggles from those close to her, including her parents being sent to prison for tax evasion and the tragic passing of her ex-fiancé. Savannah gives insight to how her life could be adapted into a Lifetime movie, starting on reality TV at age 15, how mental health should be prioritized and reform for minors in the entertainment industry, what negotiating looked like with family, the difference in pay between the two shows, how she spent her money in her late teens/early twenties, how the family was able to utilize their leverage with the network due to the value they brought, and how the show was impacted after her parents were found guilty at trial. Savannah also reveals how honesty and transparency allowed her to thrive, how she looks at money at this current moment, how her dad's former business partner played a critical role in the trial, how complex the case against her parents was, advocating their innocence, the biggest takeaways she has learned from the entire court cases, getting into politics from a people perspective about the broken prison system, and the role her faith plays in her daily life. How did the Chrisley's end up with a reality show in the first place? Was she making more on the show or social media? Is money a motivator? What was her time on Special Forces like? Savannah reveals all that and so much more in another episode you can't afford to miss!
