Season 17, Episode 17: Brew Session (Unctus, Grand Metatect) Unctus, Grand Metatect does it all. It draws a million cards, assembles infinite combos, and provides tempo and aggression. It powers up Mox Amber and keeps your artifact density high. Interested in devotion pips? Life loss? Graveyard synergy? Unctus does that too. In Modern, Unctus has shown great promise in the proven artifact shells, where Urza's Saga, Riddlesmith, and Ovalchase Daredevil make great use of the graveyard. It also provides a brilliant combo with two copies of Fatestitcher. In Pioneer, the artifact shells are less established, but no less tantalizing. Unctus sets up combos with Paradox Engine, Kiora's Follower, Chief Engineer, or The Locust God. It also backs up aggression from Patchwork Automaton, vehicles, artifact creature tokens, and much more. Cavedan and David have been noodling on this card for a while, and today they plunge deep into the Metaverse of artifact combos. We've got six new decks to test and another half dozen still to discover. What will you do with Unctus in Modern and Pioneer? Like our content? Support us on Patreon and join our brewing community! In this episode, the divas discuss Clone War episodes "Blue Shadow Virus" (s1e17) and "Mystery of a Thousand Moons" (s1e18). It was strange watching an episode about the Jedi struggling to contain a lethal virus during COVID, so the episode 'hit' a bit different than it has in the past. The divas do not hold back, sharing their criticisms of these episodes. Why was a Batman villain in the show? Why did the Jedi forget they have powers, and why doesn't clone trooper armor protect against microscopic organisms when it protects them in the vacuum of space? Listen to another hilarious episode of Dark Side Divas now!
This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-e, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw the Line this week it’s Jo d’Arc from Dunfermline in Scotland. Weaving alt-punk roots through driving tribal techno beats, Jo D'arc creates a swirling mix of pounding, dark techno music. She’s performed at free parties and raves all over the country and has played underground venues in unique locations - from castles to boats. As a producer, she’s released tracks on Booty Shake Records as well as remixing various acts including Colonel Mustard and the D’jon 5, Ciaran Mac and Girobabies. Most recently, she’s focused her energies on a new project ‘Minerva Wakes”. She’s also one half of punk duo, The Twistettes, who make loud thumping punk music. Jason Arriola and Dominic Chavez dig into the soundtracks for a couple of NES games. ECHONOMIST on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/EchonomistMusic - SoundCloud: @echonomist HOW I MET THE BASS on: - Facebook: www.facebook.com/howimetthebass - Twitter: www.twitter.com/howimetthebass - Mixcloud: www.mixcloud.com/HowIMetTheBass 3 QUESTIONS to ECHONOMIST: Q: Thanks for the epic storyteller. Tell us in a few words: How did you meet the bass once? A: If you mean about the club scene, the first moment I was amazed by the atmosphere and the vibe of a club was from a party that happened to my hometown every sunday! The club name was "Nani Nani" and the DJ was John Valavanis! But in general my first love in electronic music was Trip Hop and Drum n Bass! So artists like Stereo Nova, Ltj Bukem, Dj Krush and DJ Shadow were a big influence to my music. Q: You´re born and raised in Thessaloniki/Greece. How would you describe the development of electronic music in your city/country? A: From the late 1990's till 2009 there were a lot of things happening here regarding the club scene! After the economic crisis most of the clubs were closed! Things started to moving a bit more the last 2-3 years but it still needs work to be done and people to follow and support the scene. Q: Talking about the present. You recently released your album "Nebula" and the remixes on Upon.You. Which further projects are coming up soon? A: My "Ossain" EP will come to the newborn label of Chaim and Jenia Tarsol "Blue Shadow" and another EP to be confirmed on MicroCastle! Also my remix for Kiko Navarro at BBE music is coming up on April and my remix for Argy at Rebirth records on May.
