How about Briggsy's first win? How about Iassc Cummings kickin' his first ever with bomb monster? How bad is Josh Kelly's ankle? The 40th edition of Tongues Out features none other than Local ‘Ditch-Kid’ and 'Beer league Wizard’ Ryan Morgan! Ryan talks glowingly about former Jet Kyle Wellwood, and recalls growing up on the rinks in Westdale here in Winnipeg. His story about one of the biggest goals he ever scored as a kid should hit home with all the kids who grew up playing hockey from a young age. As the conversation continues, our guest stays and helps break down the Josh Morrissey signing, and of course the crew share their opinion on Blake Wheeler’s interview on TSN from the previous day. Phil Kessel is also a good guy, evident by the story released in the Players Tribune by Golden Knights Defenseman Shea Theodore, who openly shares about a diagnosis he received at the World Championships in Slovakia this spring. In a small serving of WHL talk, Timmy also has a VERY hot take on the ticket prices for WHL games here in Winnipeg. Intertwining the big news, Briggsy recalls a story of Timmy being pushed into a pool with five or six cel phones in his pocket. You know the pod wouldn’t be complete without a ridiculous story like that, right? The season is right around the corner, and there are no shortage of topics to talk about. Big thanks to Ryan Morgan, who stuck around for what has now become the longest (and possibly the funniest) episode in Tongues Out history.
The gents return for their unofficial second season after a four month summer hiatus, so it’s catchup time! With WHL training camp already under way, Timmy gets you primed for the inaugural ‘Dub’ season in Winnipeg. Is Kevin Cheveldayoff back from the cottage yet ? What will Kyle Connor and Patrik Laine command in salary? As they are two of the premier names remaining unsigned in RFA-land. Late in the episode, we are pleased to be joined by a former teammate-turned-standup-comedian Scott Gray for a short, fun chat, recalling Scott’s dazzling skill on the ice, how he found comedy in his new hometown of Brandon, MB. Briggsy does his best ‘pissed off’ Torts impression, and hits Timmy with a brand new segment inspired by his three year old. The guys show little rust, restoring faith that Tongues Out is the place to go to get the best(or worst) opinions and news on the game today!

Welcome to a very special Friday night episode! Your favourite hosts re-unite and it’s clear they missed each other. We dive into the middle of round two, and Timmy is friggin’ pumped the Islanders got swept after what they did to his poor Penguins. Jordan Binnington looks more rattled than Timmy in a beer league game.... and that’s not exactly a good thing for the Blues. We touch on every series, offering up some of the best opinions in the business! Briggsy recalls a story of a guy intentionally shooting him in the nuts during a game back in junior as well. Congrats are in order for the Portage Terriers, for winning the Anavet Cup, and the MMJHL Final was an apparent thriller between Pembina Valley and the local St. James Canucks squad. Enjoy our first weekend edition of the show !

We’ve got more coaching casualties for ya, we discuss teams odds in Tuesday’s draft lottery. We obviously give you our professional opinion on how the Stanley Cup playoffs will play out. This episode is pretty simple: we have a ton of fun tonight talking Trade Deadline Winners and Losers. How smart is Jarmo Kekalainen really? And did the Calgary Flames do the right thing (despite a few trades that didn’t happen for them) ? An Important topic is discussed as well: The State of our Jets! Timmy recalls a story of he and Briggsy meeting Sharks GM Doug Wilson, and the boys wish a happy no-birthday to the forgotten people born on February 29! Enjoy an extremely entertaining improv’d episode !
We skipped out on ya last week, so we spent a little time catching up to begin the episode. Timmy tells a tale of his car dying twice in the -48 cold a week ago, while Briggsy kept it Riel over the weekend, and even suited up in some goalie gear! A big friend of the show gets ENGAGED as well! As far as relevant news to you guys, we talk everything from Panarin sh*tting his pants to Cory Schneider FINALLY winning his first game in 14 months! THE DEVILSSSSSS! We conclude the episode with an in depth look at the looming NHL Trade Deadline, and we watch in disgust(live) as the wheels completely fall off the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday night against the Colorado Avalanche. Enjoy The Show!
Friend of the show Cody Cleave join the podcast for the entire episode, but it's Timmy who kicks off this weeks eppy discussing his new personal trainer, Gavin McHale! We briefly discuss the success of the New England Patriots, and dive into the details of the Winnipeg Ice, the WHL's newest team. Timmy breaks down their temporary home, new arena details, and players to watch including captain Peyton Krebs, and Winnipeg product Duncan McGovern. The boys also discuss what this move will mean for the Manitoba Moose, and how they better lower their friggin' beer prices! Shifting gears to the NHL, we focus on the Predators, who added a pair of solid players via trade. Briggsy then recalls hilarious from his first Junior B tryout. The boys also look to the rest of the league to discuss some trades, and talk Auston Matthew's new contract, and what it may mean for other upcoming RFA's. Jets bench boss Paul Maurice hits 1500 games, and we get into a spirited debate on what is wrong with Patrik Laine. We close out the episode hitting on some news around the league involving the Ducks sucking, Philly's ‘Prodigy in net’, and we laugh at Elias Lindholm’s ballsy troll job in Carolina. Enjoy the show, and thanks for tuning in!
The all star panel is together tonight, and this episode contains... a little bit of everything! Manitoba Curling sensation Derek Blanchard and MJHL Referee Keith Buffie join the pod this week and offer up there expertise throughout the episode, including the NFL refs completely blowing it, how sick Blanch is at Curling, Peter Chiarelli being sh*t canned by The Oilers and the boys put their GM hats on to decide what’s best for Alberta’s Capital. Timmy and Buff get into it about their love for pizza pops, and Blanch talks about his meeting with KJHL legend and Red Wing Darren Helm. Briggsy caps the eppy by running through his Tongues Out No-Star team, and we take some #tonguesoutpucktalk questions, including a spirited debated about Theo Fleury and Rick Nash’s HHOF chances. Thanks for listening, and don’t forget to subscribe !!
Welcome to 2019! Tongues Out returns with its first episode of the year, and Timmy is on his game! We highlight Finland’s performance and our favourite moments from the World Juniors, and briefly touch on the Spengler Cup, including a great story on Canada’s Kevin Bieksa. We shift gears to talk All Star Game snubs, and have a message for all the ‘ASG’ complainers. Crosby and Ovechkin are currently tied in career points, and Journeyman Mike McKenna is the Flyers 7th goalie to dress this season. What a graveyard! We wrap up the episode reviewing the leagues 8 true contenders, and Timmy delivers an epic birthday segment, with a mega blunder before wishing Briggsy a happy 30th bday. Shoot the hockey !!!!
Briggsy was born and bred in the Yarra Valley and couldn't imagine living anywhere else. As soon as he started taking photos, he absolutely knew that this is what he want to do. Being fortunate enough to be able to give up 'normal' 9-5 life is an incredibly fulfilling and amazing feeling, to be living this dream each day.
This week, we had the California cup, and have special guest Briggsy and returning guest Ray talk about their experience at the cup, and being Valiant fans. The last of the previews, We waste no time dismantling our favourite division from top to bottom. It’s well documented that Timmy loves the Penguins and Briggsy is a Devils fan, so there’s no way you can predict who Timmy projects to win the division !Maybe the Penguins should have kept Fleury? We dabble in everything thing from puck to politics and sweet potatoes. We’d be remiss if we didn’t mention a mascot named ‘Gritty’ absolutely crippling the internet at the moment.....Of course,Timmy gets heated as per usual which is always great for a laugh! Enjoy this surprisingly unbiased episode! A very special ‘German Rocket’ turned 30 last week as well, so the boys pay tribute to a big friend of the show over in Berlin!
Roles are reversed, as Timmy hosts and brings you his own preview of the ‘Best Division in Hockey’ Central Division(recorded sep 19). We venture off as usual, including some talk of Duncan’Stu’Keith being a former teammate of ours. Briggsy’s creative juices are flowing, as he may or may not have had a few tough guy sodas, which is evident by the amount of pee breaks. Good thing Timmy is hosting !We wonder why we know so many Avalanche fans, and question the depth of the Jets goaltending .We recorded this bad boy way past our bedtimes, so please bear with us. Enjoy!
Episode 12 kicks off with the triumphant return of 'Blanch'. We touch on the Humbolt Broncos, and dive straight into some big trade talk this week, with a surprise voicemail from Habs GM Marc Bergevin. We reflect on some Adam Pardy memories, and some other Ex Jets. Blanch provides a breakdown on the Steve Yzerman situation, who is his life long man crush. Timmy finds a beauty on Tinder, and Briggsy challenges the boys to some trivia. Timmy ends the episode with his new WHL Segment 'Rollin' on Dubs'. Enjoy the pod ya puckers!!
We kick off episode 09 with some major news regarding a new co host joining full time. We celebrate the signing with some quick CFL Talk (obviously) and then delve into some of the best goalie tandems of the past and present. We touch on Timmy’s cool demeanour between the pipes, NHL Tough Guys, concussions, and revisit some old memories like Briggsy (attempting) dropping the gloves. The episode is capped with some opinions on the Ottawa Senator situation. Enjoy this marathon of a pod!
David returns from a running weekend in Spain to talk about his race with Briggsy and Jody recounts Libby's Brighton half marathon endeavours in this partner-focused episode. But not before taking aim at a certain Radio 1 DJ... In this episode you'll hear: Why Greg James might be the new Eddie Izzard (and why he's the unluckiest guy on earth picking this time to do his Three Peaks Challenge) Why Drake is the dullest pop star in the history of music (no idea...) David tries out some Eminem-style rapping (the result is just as bad as it sounds) Why going to Barcelona is a bit like visiting Wales David makes a bold claim about the finish at Seville Marathon... ... and reveals his cheeky miscalculation which resulted in a PB for Briggsy Jody reveals his "blind training run" strategy for getting Libby's mileage up on his final long run before the Brighton Half Marathon Jody also reveals his one and only snowboarding experience and why he's unlikely to do it again Why Jody's training in the last few weeks has been horrific (even though his body reckons everything's ok) Where you need to be on your marathon plan for London Marathon, Brighton Marathon or any of the spring marathons Book recommendation: How Not To Die Why making your own milk is a total disaster (as per Scott Jurek's suggestions) Jody's scathing review of How To Get Fit on ITV (he lasted until the cycling segment) Again no Silk Cut on this episode... it's just BBR chat!
