Friends of the Rosary,Shortly after the Annunciation and before the birth of St. John the Baptist, we celebrate the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary to her cousin Elizabeth. This feast of medieval origin includes many key events: the cleansing of John the Baptist from original sin in the womb of his mother at the words of Our Lady's greeting; Elizabeth's proclaiming of Mary—under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit—as Mother of God and "blessed among women"; and Mary's singing of the sublime canticle of praise of the Magnificat, which has become a part of the daily official prayer of the Church. The Holy Virgin proclaimed prophetically that henceforth she would be venerated down through the centuries:"My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior. Because he that is mighty, hath done great things to me, and holy is His name." (Lk. 1:46).The Visitation is frequently depicted in art and was the central mystery of St. Francis de Sales' devotions. The Mass of today honors Mary, who in her womb bore the King of heaven and earth, the Creator of the world, the Son of the Eternal Father.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New York• May 31, 2025, Today's Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ETEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! At a pagan festival in Thrace, when the Governor of the region was offering sacrifice to the idols, St Glyceria entered the temple and declared herself to be a handmaid of Christ. When the governor commanded her to make sacrifice to the gods, she overturned the statue of Zeus, smashing it to pieces. For this, and for her continued refusal to deny her faith, she was seized and subjected to many tortures. First, the governor had her sealed in a prison cell with the intention of starving her to death; but an angel appeared to Glykeria and gave her heavenly food. When enough time had passed that the governor was certain that Glykeria had perished, he opened her cell, and all present were astonished to see her alive, healthy and full of joy. At this her jailer, Laodicius, confessed Christ and was beheaded. Glykeria was then thrown into a fire, but stood in it unharmed, praising God like the Three Children in Babylon. Finally she was cast to wild beasts, where she gave up her soul to God. A healing myrrh flowed from her relics.

Friends of the Rosary,As we read today in the Gospel (John 8:12-20), Jesus spoke to the Pharisees, saying,“I am the light of the world.Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”This week, the Gospel of John continues to give us insight into Jesus' suffering soul.Christ's total self-surrender on our behalf, consummated on the Cross, will culminate on Holy Friday. His sacrifice is an urgent call to us to respond to his great love for all men and every one of us.Faced with this unfathomable mystery of Love, I should ask myself, what do I do for him? How do I respond to his love?“For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.”March 21, 2025, marked the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. Friends of the Rosary,On this fifth Sunday of Lent, the final Sunday before Holy Week and sometimes referred to as “Passion Sunday,” we reflect on the mystery of forgiveness.Lord Jesus shows his merciful love and offers us his forgiveness, as He did with the woman caught in adultery.Like us, the woman was given a new life with Christ, who said, "Go, and from now on do not sin any more."Jesus, who is the Holy One, does not condemn the woman, whereas people who are sinners pass sentence of death.God's infinite mercy should always move us to have compassion on those who commit sins because we are sinners and need God's forgiveness.Today, in Mass, we will see crosses and images covered. This practice will take place until the beginning of the Easter Vigil.March 21, 2025, marked the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. But then, our Lord is immediately accused of being in league with Satan. The Prince of Darkness is always one of scattering, pushing the tendency to divide. But Christ Jesus is the voice of communio, the Holy One bringing things back together. From the beginning of His ministry, Jesus was fighting against Satan; at the time of His passion, He entered the final combat until victory. The struggle against Satan goes on in our lives as baptized members of the Church. Friends of the Rosary,Today, amid the Lent's austerity, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, the most sublime moment in the history of time, when the Second Person of the Holy Trinity assumed human nature in the womb of the Virgin Mary.At midnight, when the most holy Virgin was alone and absorbed in prayer, the Archangel Gabriel appeared before her and asked her to consent to become the Mother of God in the name of the blessed Trinity.Saint Irenaeus, a holy bishop and martyr of the second century, showed us that Nazareth was the counterpart of Eden. The angel of darkness, the serpent, tricked Eve, who longed for the forbidden fruit and was impatient to enjoy independence. She ate the fruit, and death took possession of her: death of the soul, for sin extinguishes the light of life; and death of the body, which, being separated from the source of immortality, became an object of shame and horror and finally crumbled into dust.Meanwhile, the spirit of light in Nazareth respectfully bowed before her, speaking heavenly language: “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with thee! Blessed art thou among women!”Mary heard the angel's explanation of the mystery, and the will of heaven was made known to her. She, the humble maid of Nazareth, experienced the ineffable happiness of becoming the Mother of God. Mary told the divine messenger, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord: be it done to me according to thy word.”The obedience of the second Eve repaired the disobedience of the first. The eternal Son of God became present in the chaste womb of Mary, and He began His human life. A Virgin is the Mother of God, and, consenting to the divine will, conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost. The Mother of God, the Immaculate Conception, would become the Queen of all creation. This is Solemnity Day, “Lady Day” or Annunciation, when our Lenten penance obligations are lifted. We should celebrate with some special food or dinner. This feast day forecasts the event of Christmas. The Roman Martyrology commemorates St. Dismas, the Good Thief, and St. Margaret Clitherow (1556-1586), wife and mother, one of the English martyrs.March 21, 2025, marked the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. Friends of the Rosary,While we were still sinners, God proved his love for us through Christ dying for us on a death in the cross. In yesterday's Gospel, Jesus told the parable of the fig tree, signifying that the Lord expects us to bear spiritual fruit. After all, this is the consequence of the Spirit's presence in us. The Spirit is this stream; when planted near it, we blossom. And what are these fruits of the Holy Spirit? In the fifth chapter of Galatians, Paul enumerates them: “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”God—“I am who am”—is calling us from the flaming bush that doesn't consume, as He spoke to Moses—and we also learned yesterday in the first reading (Exodus 3:1-8a, 13-15).March 21, 2025, marked the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. Friends of the Rosary,As we recite in the entrance antiphon today and learn in the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:1-3, 11-32), Our Lord is kind and full of compassion and mercy.God only desires our good. The Father “ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.” With the troubled older son, He does the same. He wants nothing more from us today than our “yes,” by which we “come to life”—everlasting life. The prodigal son's parable tells us about our relationship to God. He gives us everything, and we exist through him at every moment. But the sin appears, and we break with him. Rupture or division dominates our life until we come to our senses and return to the Loving Father.God sees us coming and cheerfully runs to meet us. He puts a ring on us, symbolizing the reestablishment of the right relationship between us and the Divinity.“The Bible is not the story of our quest for God, but of God's passionate, relentless quest for us,” explains Bishop Barron.Yesterday, March 21, 2025, marked the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. Friends of the Rosary,Today, March 21, 2025, marks the fifth year since we started praying the Holy Rosary of Mary daily within this community. We are grateful and rejoice in the Holy Virgin as we have found favor in her Rosary — a special grace given to us!Just before his Passion, Jesus tells the parable of the wicked tenants (Matthew 21:33-46) to illustrate the consequences of rejecting God's messengers and his son.A landowner planted a vineyard, built a fence, a winepress, and a watchtower, and then leased it to some farmers. The landowner then went on a journey, and when harvest time approached, he sent his servants — the prophets sent by God — to collect his share of the produce. The tenants beat, killed, and stoned the servants and even the landowner's son (a representation of Jesus).Later, the tenants — who represent the religious leaders of Israel — were destroyed, and the vineyard was given to others who would cultivate it properly. The fertile vineyard represents Israel, God's chosen people, but it could be broadened to include the world. The Father made a place for his people to find rest, enjoyment, and good work.We — Israel, the Church, the world — are not the owners of this vineyard; we are tenants. One of the fundamental spiritual mistakes we can make is to think that we own the world. We are tenants entrusted with caring for it, but everything we have and are is on loan. Our lives are not about us.We must ask, How are we using the gifts that God gave us? All is for God, and thus, all is under God's judgment.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Saint Joseph, Pray for Us!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary!+ Mikel Amigot | RosaryNetwork.com, New YorkEnhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! She was born to a pious, noble and very wealthy family in Thessalonica. When both her parents died while she was an adolescent, Anysia consecrated herself to Christ, the heavenly Bridegroom. She cast off all her jewels and fine clothing, dressing herself as a commoner. She freed all her many slaves, giving each of them a generous sum of money to establish themselves. She gave away all of her inheritance, which included large estates. Thenceforth she spent her days visiting the sick, helping widows and orphans, and, especially, aiding Christians suffering under persecution. She would visit those in prison, bringing them food and water and tending their wounds. All the time not devoted to aiding the poor or oppressed she spent in prayer in a small cell. One of her prayers was that she, like those that she helped, would be granted the crown of martyrdom.   One day, while she was walking to church, an imperial soldier accosted her and roughly questioned her. When she plainly declared herself a Christian, the soldier seized her and dragged her to a temple of the idols, where he commanded her to make sacrifice. In response, she only spat in his face. The enraged soldier drew his sword and thrust it into her side, slaying her. Some pious Christians took her body and buried it outside the city. When the persecutions had ended, a church was built in her honor at the place of her burial.

"This Martyr was the daughter of most distinguished and noble parents named Philip and Claudia. Philip, a Prefect of Rome, moved to Alexandria with his family. In Alexandria, Eugenia had the occasion to learn the Christian Faith, in particular when she encountered the Epistles of Saint Paul, the reading of which filled her with compunction and showed her clearly the vanity of the world. Secretly taking two of her servants, Protas and Hyacinth, she departed from Alexandria by night. Disguised as a man, she called herself Eugene [Eugenios -ed.] while pretending to be a eunuch, and departed with her servants and took up the monastic life in a monastery of men. Her parents mourned for her, but could not find her. After Saint Eugenia had laboured for some time in the monastic life, a certain woman named Melanthia, thinking Eugene to be a monk, conceived lust and constrained Eugenia to comply with her desire; when Eugenia refused, Melanthia slandered Eugenia to the Prefect as having done insult to her honour. Eugenia was brought before the Prefect, her own father Philip, and revealed to him both that she was innocent of the accusations, and that she was his own daughter. Through this, Philip became a Christian; he was afterwards beheaded at Alexandria. Eugenia was taken back to Rome with Protas and Hyacinth. All three of them ended their life in martyrdom in the years of Commodus, who reigned from 180 to 192." (Great Horologion)

Friends of the Rosary, This Fourth Sunday of Advent, so close to Christmas, the Catholic Church invites us to focus our attention on Mary. She, the Ark of the Covenant, visits St. Elizabeth (Luke 1:38-45) in the hill country of Judah, near Jerusalem. The Church Fathers saw the parallels between the Old Testament wooden Ark containing the divine presence and the Virgin about to give birth to the God-child Jesus. As the ark was brought to Jerusalem, King David, with awe, said, "How can the ark of the Lord come to me?" The Ark remained in the hill country for three months, bringing great blessings to Israel. In today's Gospel, Elizabeth asked Mary, "Who am I that the Mother of my Lord should come to me?"  She tells how her baby, John the Baptist, leaped in her womb as she became filled with the Holy Spirit. Finally, Mary remained for three months before returning to her home. The Holy Virgin recited the Magnificat: “All Generations Shall Call Me Blessed.” Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You! She lived in Rome during the reigns of the Emperors Decius and Valerian. At an early age she left all to embrace a life of unceasing prayer, entering a small monastery in Rome, directed by a nun named Sophia. For her Christian faith, she was seized and brought before the governor Probus and, when she boldly confessed Christ and refused to honor the idols, was subjected to a series of vicious tortures, under which she died. An angel led Sophia to retrieve her holy relics, which are now venerated at the monastery of Grigoriou on Mt Athos.   We are sometimes told that monasticism developed in the Church after Christianity became accepted and grew more worldly. The story of St Anastasia is one of many evidences in the lives of the Saints that what we now call monasticism was present from the earliest days of the Church.

Friends of the Rosary, Today, nine months after the Immaculate Conception, the Catholic Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We rejoice in her birthday. In Mary, all human nature is exalted. This is one of the three birthdays in the Church Calendar—the Birth of Jesus (December 25), the Birth of John the Baptist (June 24), and the Birthday of Mary. Mary was born to be the mother of the Savior of the World, the spiritual mother of all men, and the holiest of God's creatures. The Holy Virgin was conceived and born immaculate and full of grace. Through her, Queen of heaven and earth, all grace is given to men. Saint Augustine described the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary as an event of cosmic and historic significance and an appropriate prelude to the birth of Jesus Christ. "She is the flower of the field from whom bloomed the precious lily of the valley," he said. The fourth-century bishop affirmed that "through her birth, the nature inherited from our first parents is changed." The Blessed Virgin occupies a unique place in the history of salvation, and she has the highest mission ever commended to any creature. Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You! Come, Holy Spirit, come! Friends of the Rosary, Today, on the Saturday following the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, we celebrate the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In 1944, during the Second World War, Pius XII instituted this feast to obtain, through Mary's intercession, “peace among nations, freedom for the Church, the conversion of sinners, the love of purity and the practice of virtue.” At that time, Pius XII put the whole world under the special protection of Mary by consecrating it to her Immaculate Heart. However, this devotion is not new. Simeon's prophecy, with its representation of Mary's heart pierced with a sword, paved the way for this devotion. The Holy Virgin “cooperated through charity,” as St. Augustine says, “in the work of our redemption.” Today, the Immaculate Heart expresses Mary's interior life, including her joys and sorrows, virtues, and hidden perfections. It's a living reminder of her virginal love for God, maternal love for her Divine Son, and compassionate love for her sinful children below. Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You! Come, Holy Spirit, come!

Friends of the Rosary: Yesterday, February 11, was the 32nd World Day of the Sick, a commemoration instituted by Pope St. John Paul II. The World Day of the Sick takes place each year on the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes. On this day in 1858 in Lourdes, France, the 14-year-old peasant girl Bernadette Soubirous saw the Virgin Mary, wearing a white dress and holding a rosary. It would be the first of 18 appearances of Holy Virgin in Lourdes. In one apparition, on the feast day of the Annunciation, Mary said, “I am the Immaculate Conception.” Since then, Lourdes has been a popular travel destination. Thousands of people say their medical conditions have been cured through pilgrimage, prayer, and the water flowing from a spring to which Bernadette was directed by the Blessed Virgin. Experts have verified 69 cases of miraculous healing at Lourdes since 1862. Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You! Friends of the Rosary: Today, December 8th, is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. On this feast, we celebrate with great joy God's gift to humanity in Mary. From the very moment of her conception, in the womb of her mother Anne, Mary received the grace of salvation in Christ. She was conceived free from original sin. The Holy Virgin was granted this extraordinary privilege because of Her unique role in history as the Mother of God. In 1854, Pope Pius IX's in the solemn declaration of "Ineffabilis Deus” proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. "The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin." The Church of Christ holds Mary as a model for all humanity in Her holiness and Her purity in her willingness to accept the Plan of God for her. Mary's Fiat — “Let it be done to me according to Thy Word,” — in response of the Angel Gabriel's greeting, is the response required of all Christians to God's Plan. Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You! Friends of the Rosary: Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal is commemorated today. We recall when Our Lady appeared to St. Catherine Labouré and revealed to her the images of the miraculous medal. In the year 1830, the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Labouré, a Daughter of Charity in Paris, and told her that God had a mission for her. The Holy Virgin held her hands outstretched in the manner of a loving mother. On her fingers were rings with gems that emitted rays of light. She told St. Catherine: "These rays symbolize the graces I shed upon those who ask for them. The gems from which rays do not fall are the graces for which souls forget to ask." Framing the image in an oval were the words, "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee." St. Catherine then saw an image of an M upon which was a cross. Underneath the M was Our Lord's heart crowned with thorns and Our Lady's heart pierced by a sword. Surrounding this image were 12 stars. Upon the globe at her feet, Mary stood atop the serpent's head. The Blessed Virgin instructed St. Catherine to have a medal made of these images, and she promised many graces to all who wore it. Friends of the Rosary: Eight days after celebrating Mary's Assumption into Heaven, we commemorate the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary. This feast is a prolongation of the celebration of the Assumption. Down through centuries, Popes, Doctors, and Fathers of the Church have given authoritative expression to the truth of the Queenship of the Holy Virgin. This title is applied to the Mother of God since she is closely associated with the redemptive work of her Son — "The King of kings and Lord of lords" — and the Mediatrix of all graces. In October 1954, Pius XII, by his encyclical letter of October 11, 1954, following a unanimous desire of the faithful, instituted the Memorial of the Queenship of Mary. The same union of Mary with Christ Jesus is the fountain of the efficacy of her motherly intercession in the presence of the Son and of the Father. Pius IX wrote in his Apostolic Constitution Ineflabilis Deus: "More than all the angels and all the saints has God ineffable freely endowed Mary with the fullness of the heavenly gifts that abound in the divine treasury; and she, preserving herself ever immaculately clean from the slightest taint of sin, attained a fullness of innocence and holiness so great as to be unthinkable apart from God Himself, a fullness that no one other than God will ever possess." Friends of the Rosary: Merry Christmas! Today is the Feast of St. John Apostle and Evangelist. St. John, the son of Zebedee and brother of St. James the Great, become the beloved disciple of Jesus. He wrote the fourth Gospel, three Epistles, and the Book of the Apocalypse or Revelation. St. John was present with Peter and James at the Transfiguration of Christ and witnessed His agony in the Garden. At the Last Supper, he leaned on the Master's breast. At the foot of the cross, Jesus entrusted His Mother to his care. He was the only one of the Apostles who did not forsake the Savior in the hour of His Passion and Death. John's pure life kept him very close to Jesus and Mary for years to come. St. John described in his Gospel the pre-existence of the Word, who by His Incarnation became the light of the world and the life of our souls. He was later exiled to the Island of Patmos, where he wrote the Apocalypse, but afterward returned to Ephesus to take care of the Holy Virgin. St. John died in peace at Ephesus, at the age of ninety-four years old. “My dear children, love one another,” was the message of his preaching. Ave Maria! Jesus, I Trust In You!

Friends of the Rosary: This Sunday, November 27, in addition to the First Sunday of Advent, was the feast of the Miraculous Medal, which represents the coming triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. On November 27, 1830, the Virgin Mary appeared to St. Catherine Laboure in a small chapel in Paris. Our Lady was clothed all in white. She was standing on the earth. Under one of her feet was the head of a green serpent, representing Satan. In her hands, she held a golden ball surmounted by a cross, which represented the world. From rings on her fingers, rays as symbols of graces were emitted. These rays were shed upon those who ask for them. The Holy Virgin asked St. Catherine Labouré, a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, to have a medal struck after this model. And promised: “All who wear the medal will receive great graces; they should wear it around the neck. Graces will abound for those who wear it with confidence.” Since then, so many miracles have occurred for those who wore the medal. Ave Maria!
