Peter takes us back to a quiet stretch of motorway in Warwickshire, where an ordinary drive home turned into a moment that reshaped his understanding of what can be seen in the night sky. What began as a bright white orb drifting low over the fields soon revealed itself as something far more structured and deliberate. But this isn't the only strange moment in Peter's life. Years earlier, he lived in a new-build flat in Digbeth that carried a presence no one could explain. Comment les médias français s'emparent-ils de la question du réchauffement climatique ? Peut-on encore parler de déni climatique ? Il est aujourd'hui difficile de trouver des médias en France qui soient ouvertement climato-sceptiques. Les chaînes généralistes et l'audiovisuel public ont même fait de la sensibilisation à la question climatique un axe central de leur responsabilité sociale (RSE). On trouve donc des sujets sur le dérèglement climatique et des experts en plateau sur TF1 ou des reportages et un journal météo-climat sur France 2. Mais cela ne veut pas dire pour autant que les projecteurs soient suffisamment braqués sur l'incendie, et de la bonne façon. D'abord, parce que ces sujets ont été moins présents sur les chaînes en 2024 qu'en 2023, d'après l'Institut national de l'audiovisuel, et qu'ils sont encore très minoritaires : près de 3,8% des reportages en 2021-2023, selon Climat Médias. Ensuite, parce que le dérèglement climatique peut encore sembler lointain si on montre ses effets sur l'Arctique ou la déforestation amazonienne. Or, il est important de faire le lien entre des inondations ou des canicules en Europe et le réchauffement climatique. Enfin, parce que comme dit le président de la COP30, André Correa do Lago, il faut « changer la perception qu'on ne peut pas combattre le réchauffement climatique », donc éviter tout défaitisme qui conduit à un aquoibonisme ou une anxiété, et montrer les solutions. Les moins bons élèves sur la question Trois ONG, Data For Good, QuotaClimat et Science Feedback, ont épinglé fin octobre des cas de « mésinformation climatique » qui proviennent essentiellement de médias privés comme CNews, Sud Radio et Europe 1. Ce s'est vu à l'occasion de la prise de fonction de Donald Trump, lors d'une canicule, du débat sur les zones à faible émission ou à propos de la politique de l'énergie. On retrouve un certain relativisme face à l'urgence de modifier nos comportements, une mise en cause de l'efficacité des énergies renouvelables, et une propension à problématiser l'action des écologistes, et plus encore l'idée de décroissance, plutôt que celle des industries polluantes. Apparition de nouvelles menaces Sur les réseaux sociaux, où l'on sait que les jeunes s'informent en grande partie, des vidéos trafiquées avec Sora, une application d'OpenAI, conduisent à des vues biaisées et pour finir à une certaine déréalisation de catastrophes comme l'ouragan Melissa en Jamaïque. Il y a aussi Grok, l'IA d'Elon Musk, qui nie la validité des rapports du GIEC. Le collectif d'ONG Action Climat contre la désinformation et l'Observatoire pour l'honnêteté de l'information, évoquent une recrudescence de 267% de la désinformation sur des sujets liés à la COP entre juillet et septembre de cette année. Becky McKiddy-Gydesen was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio where she lived in a haunted house with her mother, grandparents, and aunt. She was always very aware that there was “more out there” and respectful towards it. Later, as an adult, she lived in a haunted apartment. She was curious about what she had been experiencing from a young age, but was told these things weren't to be talked about. One day, as she was flipping channels, she came across the show Ghost Hunters. Here was a group of people searching for the answers she also wanted to find. She became an instant fan of the show. From there, everything seemed to fall into her lap. Becky bought the Tucson Ghost Tour rights in 2013 and was able to start the Tucson Ghost Company which does a walking tour, 3 different ghost hunts, and special events. She was also able to form the non-profit investigational team, Tucson Ghost Society. Some war stories never leave the battlefield — even when the soldiers do. In tonight's chilling true account, a Vietnam veteran recalls the only brush with the supernatural he's had in 74 years of life — and it happened deep in the Mekong Delta. While serving night duty at a Special Forces C-team, he was tasked with monitoring communications and handling emergencies. One night, a wounded American, Sergeant T, was flown in after a grenade trap nearly destroyed his airboat. His injury was minor but serious: a small hole above the eye, possibly pressing on the optic nerve. Medics recommended evacuation to Saigon, and the sergeant was flown out. Two days later, reports came back thanking the officer for returning Sergeant T. Confused, he went to retrieve the man — only to be told by multiple soldiers that they had seen him walking around, bandaged head and all, even heading to the showers. His girlfriend in the village was questioned. Everyone swore he was still alive. But when the officer returned to headquarters, the truth hit like a bullet: Major Jay handed him the paperwork. Sergeant T had died the night before, on the operating table in Saigon. Yet at least three men swore they saw him walking the barracks that same night. Was this a case of a spirit lingering behind, unaware of his death? A phantom farewell to comrades? Buddy Thayer founded Ocean State Paranormal on October 15, 2012 but he had investigated with a now defunct group. However, he did have the benefit of learning from a former member of TAPS. He was not a cast member but had the traveled with the team to Tombstone and worked on the sidelines but learned from Grant and Jason. He was Buddy's teacher and gave him some of what he needed to start Ocean State Paranormal. Another part of Buddy founding his own paranormal group was a sense that he knew how to occur when in the presence of a spirit. Not that he is saying that he is an empath or a sensitive or medium, it's a very specific physical sensation, it starts as tingles moving from his head to shoulders to abdomen, hairs stand up, he feels suddenly like he's on stage, like he is being watched and even at times have felt urges to leave immediately or even to cry. These symptoms began when he was a young child but he did not understand nor have any further ghostly experiences that he can remember until later on in life. His father was also a fan of history and took Buddy across the eastern half of the US to many historical sites including Monticello to name one of many, he would have these sensations. The final parts of Buddy founding OSP is that he earned a Bachelor's Degree in History at Rhode Island College, however since then he has worked in Human Services and Mental Health. So the research Buddy does prior to any case allows him to use the education he received at RIC. Also in working for years professionally helping people, a paranormal group, whose soul purposes are to provide answers and realistic solutions (FREE) and so they can help to educate others and advance the science. That is OSP. His professional career involves working with people who suffer from mental illness in a hospital setting. As this is another area of his expertise, he is also a member of the Dominion Ministry as their Mental Health Specialist. The search for answers sometimes lies inside someone's mind and isn't always unexplained. Being a native Rhode Islander Buddy is dedicated to local history and it's preservation as well. Both Dan's stories seem to present exceptionally strong evidence for life after death. The first comes from the state of Illinois and is the exceptionally strange late 19th century tale of the Watseka Wonder. Then his second story takes us back to the early 18th century to Canterbury, England. Did famed English author Daniel Defoe write the first based-on-a-true story ghost encounter claim? Lynze begins the back half of the show with a creepy encounter with a shadowy figure inside of the mind of someone playing a game. Ignite Adaptive Sports mission is to provide snow sport opportunities to people with disabilities. They believe that everyone should be able to enjoy winter sports, regardless of skill or ability level. We are a volunteer based organization that provide snow sport lessons to athletes with disabilities out of Eldora Mountain Resort. In 2024, 320 volunteers gave 22,390 hours of their time to provide 1,690 snowsports lessons to 459 athletes. Ignite Adaptive Sports provides sit skiing lessons, cross country and snowshoe lessons, downhill skiing, snowboarding and ski biking lessons. They rely on grants, donations, an annual fundraising gala, and our host mountain Eldora to be able to provide this much needed service. Dan and Lynze had the pleasure of meeting Sam Brady who works with this great non profit. Sam shared with us that Ignite Adaptive Sports is run by almost all volunteers with only 2 paid staff members. They typically receive funding for disabled veterans to be able to receive lessons at no cost to them. However, this year, due to budget cuts in the DEI space, it's not looking good. Sam asked if we'd be interested in supporting this cause and supporting disabled people, especially disabled veterans. We sent $11,600 over to them and put another $1250 into the scholarship fund!
