This week's episode is a lyric review of the song "I Speak Jesus" by Here Be Lions, also sung by Charity Gayle. Do the lyrics of this song actually glorify God or ourselves? Is this a song we should be offering as worship to God? Mackenzie dissects the lyrics of the song as well as comparing the theme of the song with Scripture and different New Age beliefs. Hi, I'm Mackenzie. I'm a music artist, worship leader, wife, mom (I wear a lot of hats), and host of the Godly Whistleblower podcast. I seek to shine a light on popular teachings and music in the church today and share what Scripture teaches on how we are to worship in spirit and in truth within the church gathering. My desire is to learn together with my listeners how Christians are to live lives ultimately as a pleasing worship to God. If you enjoyed this episode, I'd appreciate so much if you left me a review! Jesus says 'I am the resurrection and the life" in the midst of deep grief for the loss of a loved one. This is the story of Lazarus. Not only does Jesus offer new life to Lazarus, He points to hope, restoration, and reveals a central truth of who God is. We love nothing more than when our guests share stories of how they've grown in their faith even if those stories cover situations not widely talked about. The pressure on women to be married by a certain age is still a real thing in our churches and Charity Gayle's wonderful testimony has all of us contemplating how we can grow in contentment.Charity is known for a lot of amazing songs right now that include I Speak Jesus, Thank You Jesus For The Blood, and We Need A Miracle, but we've known Charity for almost a decade when she first hit the Song Discovery stage singing the songs that the Holy Spirit gave to her. We know her heart to be pure and we couldn't be more thrilled to see how her voice has been amplified. She's a person worth listening to because she truly lives out her faith. The scripture she references is worth reading daily:Luke 12:27 Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin,[d] yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 28 But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29 And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried.Lord, we too pray for all our listeners to breed contentment in their daily lives through a life of faith and trust in your Word. We believe your Word to be true. Charity houses a powerful voice that has a fresh yet reminiscent sound. She loves the Lord with fierce faith and was raised in a home full of worship and has been involved in ministry since she was a child. Growing up in Buffalo, NY, Charity was a part of a culture that thrives in the spirit of unity while celebrating diversity. Surrounded by worship and the Word, her love for praising Jesus through music grew as she did. One of her favorite things growing up was watching her mom direct choir at Thursday night choir practice and by the age of 16, she was directing multiple choirs herself. “I love harmonies in gospel music. I think about Heaven being full of every type of voice from every nation, finding their part and praising God at the top of their lungs together around the Throne.”She spent two years in Nashville in 2014 and 2015 where she fell more in love with the art of writing songs for the church. Focusing on bridging the gap between worship and gospel music, she has authored songs like ‘Amen' ‘Psalm 100 (Enter In), Cleansed and ‘New Name Written Down in Glory'. Her first record, ‘Lord, You are my Song, debuted at #1 in the Christian and gospel genre in January 2018. She recently released her sophomore album ‘Endless Praise' in Sept. 2021, featuring the song ‘Thank You Jesus for the Blood' also debuting at #1. Most recently, Charity received a Dove Award for the song ‘Benediction (As You Go)' on Selah's record, “Firm Foundation”. Charity lives and leads worship with her husband, Ryan Kennedy. They are cultivating a movement for 24-hour prayer and worship called GatherHouse, and are continuing to write and spread the gospel in the US and globally.

We've all walked through experiences where we've been asked to do something that we didn't feel prepared for. Those situations often cause us to be stretched beyond what we believe we're capable of. The U.S. Navy SEALs have a saying: "Get comfortable being uncomfortable." Now, we're not all called to become Navy SEALs, but as followers of Jesus we are automatically members of the Lord's army. That means we're faced with embracing the uncomfortable situations of life that Jesus puts us in. In this episode, we travel back with Dustin Smith to his early days of ministry and learn about how he became a worship leader that could also play the piano. That led to an anointed career as a songwriter, musician, worship pastor, and now senior pastor at Hope UC in Nashville. Dustin's encouragement to step out and not let insecurities get in the way of what Jesus has for you makes for a great episode of our devotional podcast, The Walk. - - - - - - Please subscribe to our social channels for more information and great content surrounding building a lifestyle of worship. You know Jesus. You have for a long time. But maybe it’s time to rediscover who he really is. Jesse Reeves is church planter and a prolific songwriter. Among his songs, How Great Is Our God, Lord I Need You, Indescribable, Our God, and I Speak Jesus. Jesse toured with Chris Tomlin for 17 years. After that he helped plant Austin Stone Church a mega church in Austin, TX. Then he helped plant Passion City Church in Atlanta. But in 2017 the Lord challenged Jesse through his wife to reboot his life in Jesus. First, when Jesse’s wife Janet said: “Jesse, you’ve been paid to be a Christian since you were 15; you need to quit going to church for a year to rediscover who Jesus is.” Then, Jesse says, “We have everything in the west, mega-churches, vast resources to reach people for Jesus, but it’s not happening. What if we stripped everything down?” Next, Shawna admits, “I’m so busy, even with Jesus stuff, but I can miss making Jesus the center of my life.” Then, Jesse Reeves explores why hundreds of thousands of people in America aren’t coming to know Jesus. Next, if you’re a follower of Jesus, you’re a priest, you’re a bridge from people to God and from God to people. This has the power to change your ordinary life into the extraordinary, and bring spiritual awakening to America. Last, Umar went to a church in Nigeria intending to kill Christians, but Jesus had something entirely different in mind. This episode is brought to you by the Worship Leader Institute. When is the last time you spoke the name of Jesus over someone? Has God ever asked you to do something radical like walk away from the Church for a year to rediscover him? In today's episode, we feature a remarkable story followed up by an uncomfortable challenge surrounding our “priesthood” from Jesse Reeves. He's a church planter and a prolific songwriter with hundreds of titles to his name including How Great Is Our God, Lord I Need You, Indescribable, Our God, I Speak Jesus and a bunch more. He bases his challenge on this verse from 1 Peter. I Peter 2:9-10 says, “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." It's important to note that both Jesse and all of us here at Authentic Media and Worship Leader are massive fans and supporters of the local church. Please listen to this episode through the filter of iron sharpens iron and don't be afraid to reevaluate the status quo. After hearing this episode we challenge you to pray for the Holy Spirit's guidance and just see what God says. Such an encouraging message whether you're currently in this season or have a friend who is. We encourage you to listen and share with a friend. AND we included "I Speak Jesus" from worship that night because it's just flat out powerful so you can listen to it on the go.
Join Pastor Chris McRae as he leads Sunday worship in song with a unique rendition of "I Speak Jesus" by Here Be Lions and Darlene Zschech. Pastor Chris McRae is also joined by Pastors Kevin Chaote and Terry Moore in prayer.

As we continue our week on loving people well, we’re going to fix our eyes on Jesus. What better example or model is there for how to love than the One who laid his life down for the world? Today may you catch a glimpse of this beautiful King who loves perfectly. May you not only get a picture of how you could love others, but experience his incredible love for yourself afresh. Our Scripture for today comes from 1 John 3:16, and today's worship is I Speak Jesus by Here Be Lions. Check out our Worship for the Weekday playlist on Spotify! ________ First15 Worship is here! As believers, we want a real connection with God every day, not just on Sunday. We want the peace and passion that comes from living with God, not for God. But when Monday morning rolls around we’re left thinking: “Now what?” “How do I find and keep a daily connection with my Creator on my own?” At First15, we know that meaningful worship isn’t just for Sunday. Every believer should be able to find a daily connection to God with fresh worship created specifically for their weekday. _____ First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. If you would like to learn more about the First15 app, books, blogs, videos and our other resources, please visit first15.org. You can always reach out to us on our contact page on the website.

Worship was fantastic! I shared some new songs and a spontaneous one about the faithfulness of God. The presence of His love was heavy. I cried a few times and my voice broke somewhat. It was an intimate and powerful time of praise. Listen, worship along, and be blessed! Songs played or attempted ;) He Reigns, Tremble, I Speak Jesus, Evidence, How Great is Our God, Spontaneous song about God's faithfulness, Break Every Chain --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/praise-wo-ceasing/support
