On episode 399, we speak with military veteran, retired police detective, and UFO investigator, James Clarkson. After lecturing about government secrecy pertaining to UFOs, an elderly woman approached him and told him that she agreed that the government wasn't sharing with the public all they knew about UFOs. Upon asking her how she knew, Clarkson was intrigued by her answer; "Because I worked there." This is the story of June Crain, the USAF, and UFOs. Clarkson runs us through some of the more compelling aspects of both June Crain's life and her handling of possible materials from the Roswell UFO incident. Joining me is ufologist, James Clarkson. We'll discuss UFO cases and the relevance of the history of debunking and disinformation efforts, such as the Turkey Springs/Travis Walton case; James' personal encounter with Philip Klass; and how it all helps us to understand the current status of UFO/UAP disclosure.James Clarkson is an Investigator who has stood in two worlds for many years – a career professional investigator in the criminal justice field and as a lifelong researcher of the UFO Mystery. He has been a plainclothes military police investigator, a 20-year career city police officer and fraud investigator who has had many titles: patrol supervisor, detective sergeant, fatal accident team manager and training officer. After retiring with 20 years' service, he became a child abuse detective and then he completed another decade of service as a fraud investigator for a Washington state agency. For over 30 years he has studied the mystery of UFOs with the same attention to detail that he applied to criminal investigations. He was an Investigator for the Mutual UFO Network from 1987 to 2017. He served as the Washington State Director for his last 10 years in MUFON. Today we are honored to have a distinguished guest with us, Mr. James E. Clarkson, a seasoned police detective with over thirty years of experience. Not only has he dedicated his career to law enforcement, but he has also ventured into Ufology. As the former State Director of the Mutual UFO Network in Washington State, James has collaborated closely with notable researchers in the field, including Peter Davenport, Director of the National UFO Reporting Center, and William Puckett, the Director of UFOSNW. Despite the common media perception that those involved in Ufology are mere enthusiasts, James emphasizes the serious academic and professional credentials that many in the field hold. James expresses his pride in serving Ufology and championing the public's right to knowledge. Today, he joins us on UAPSP to delve into his extensive investigations and experiences, particularly focusing on two compelling events discussed in his books. James is the author of "TELL MY STORY: June Crain, the Air Force & UFOs" and "Westport UFO Crash Retrieval Event." The latter book explores the mysterious incident that occurred in Grays Harbor County on November 25, 1979. A fiery object fell from the night skies, prompting military intervention that included blocking logging roads at gunpoint to keep residents away. James, drawing on his background as a retired police sergeant and seasoned researcher, shares the known details of this perplexing event and the lingering questions that surround it. Without further ado, let's dive into the conversation with Mr. James E. Clarkson - Hope you enjoy it. Jason & Michael
