It's been a long time/we shouldn'tve left you/without some more podcast to listen to.... And just like that we're back like we never left. A lot of things have changed, but ya boys are still the same. Let's get it goin' with episode 18 of the Say No More Podcast. Starting this one off on a sad note RIP to Jahseh Onfro aka XXXtentacion as well as Jimmy Wopo from Pittsburg. June 18th was a bad day for the culture of Hip-Hop. Now that May 25th to June 23rd is over and the smoke has cleared, an apology needs to be given to Kanye West. It has been a G.O.O.D. Summer and Def Jam is back on top. We drop a few opinions on these evens, but they really deserve a whole episode, per album. Good Friday’s felt like Def Jam Survival of the iLLest CD /Tour, remember the bonus green cover and CD? Who won the battle LL RipperStrikes Back vs 2nd Round Knockout? What's next for Pusha T vs. Drake? Never meet your heroes or favorite celebs, MJ (Michael Jordan) vs Hip-Hop. This week I stopped down ID Labs to talk to Ryan Haynes or more commenly known DJ Afterthought. I fucked up and didn't hit record and noticed 5 minutes in but we made it work. Honestly I had no idea what to expect with Ryan. We had only spoke briefly once but I knew that the dude was making moves. Working with artists like Riff Raff, Wiz Khalifa, PK Delay, Jimmy Wopo, and SOOO MANY MORE you tend to hear about who's really grinding and making a buzz in the city. I always saw him at different shows I went to and he was always involved with all kinds of shit in the city. He told me about how he threw a couple events with Bubba Sparxxx and Ying Yang Twins and created a little Hip Hop Scene in Butler of all places and how he started out in WVU. I enjoyed talking to Ryan. I learned a lot about him that I would have never guessed like his crazy love for hockey and how he coached for a few years. Its always cool to hear about what people in a different time in life. I hope you enjoy the talk we had. PLEASE TAKE A SECOND TO SUBSCRIBE, RATE, REVIEW, AND LEAVE SOME FEEDBACK. The duo goes from Jay Rock, Nas and Jay Z & Beyonce to how pissed they are about Madden ratings and what NFL players would be great soccer players. They get right into Take or Tangent on giving athletes second chances, the ESPN body issue and who might get fired first. Touchdown or Turnover continues the petty G.O.A.T Terrell Owens, Alex Smith, Martavis Bryant, Aaron Donald and the sexual assault case of Jameis Winston and former Houston Texans wide receiver Keith Mumphery's lawsuit against his former school Michigan State. The duo ends the show on an emotional note from Kenny and Pete's stand for LiAngelo Ball not being drafted and how the media scapegoats him.

It is almost full-blown summer. As my birthday month comes to a close I'm going to be pointing out some things. Things that common sense or basic respect earns you. Reasons people go APE. We lost 2 rappers within the last 24 hours. Xxxtentacion and Pittsburgh rapper Jimmy Wopo, both gunned down. One was 20 the latter 21. It's about to be a cruel summer. We work hard all winter, up here in the north. Our winter was damn near 6 months long. When summer hits we like to pop out, not realizing some people want to pop OFF. Now that is a reason to go APE. As you should already know I got that new Beyonce and Jay Z track for your listening pleasure.

Everything is Love!!! The Culture Nouveau Team is back to talk Bey and Jay (of course), Nas and more. Later in the episode we discuss getting to the bag, and pay respects to the families of XXX Tentacion and Jimmy Wopo.
This dude's rise on the rap scene has been impressive and I hope he continues to blow up. We've had Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller make it big out of Pittsburgh and all signs point to Jimmy Wopo being next. I saw Wopo's material like way back in the summer and knew I wanted to get him on the podcast. He got the look, swag and talent. It's tough to describe. That "It" factor I guess you can say. He mentioned in our episode that "all (his) life (he) wanted to be somebody" and I think he's about to be. We did this interview backstage at his concert at Mr. Smalls Theater on April 28th. It was real dope. I appreciate Wopo for giving me the time and Taylor for linking us for the podcast. Wopo's a really interesting and thoughtful dude and I'm honored to share his insight/journey. In this conversation we talk about: His Creative Process Building Mental Toughness Rapping on The Radio at a Young Age Importance of Mentoring the Youth How Elm Street Blew Up/ Lessons Learned Success/ Finding Happiness How he got the name Jimmy Wopo Follow Jimmy Wopo on Social Media Instagram Twitter Listen to Wopo on Soundcloud Spotify Youtube
