Bailey looks after Izzie when she has her past come straight into her present. George forgets about Callie again, although his reason for being with Izzie today is valid it is too little too late as his wife's needs are completely overlooked. Susan has inserted herself back into Meredith's life, she is really just trying to care and 'mum' the only way she knows how. On this week's CherryPop episode, Meg welcomes actress and star of Grey's Anatomy, Kelly McCreary. Kelly shares her invaluable experience playing Dr. Maggie Pierce and how the character taught her to embrace her inner nerd. Additionally, she talks about Shonda Rhimes' impact on the industry and sheds light on the precedent set by Shondaland of a supportive and safe work environment. “Shonda's work first impacted me as an actor because it enabled me to envision myself in roles beyond just what I thought would be available to me. [...] Black women have always found a way to carve space out for themselves, but it's been hard fought—hard fought, hard won—and not a ton of opportunity, even when those spaces are made. So what was really exciting about Shonda, and the impact that she had on the industry [and] on casting, was normalization.” - Kelly McCreary “Raising a human being is work. The mental labor, physical labor, emotional labor, [are] defaulted a lot of times to women because of the patriarchy. Of course, there are lots of great men and dads out there who know how to integrate themselves or want to integrate, but let's be real, there's a fundamental assumption that women do a lot, and to know that would not cost me my job, that the work of being a mom would be unquestioningly supported by my work, is so incredibly valuable.” - Kelly McCreary CherryPicks is the best place to see what women think about movies, tv, and more. Meanwhile at Seattle Grace the entire hospital is a flutter of gossip with Meredith at the epicentre. Izzy and Christina steal a patient from Psych to lift Merediths spirit. Enough really is enough is Greys Anatomy Season 2, episode 2. Everyone has had enough, it's time for self preservation. Merideth and Christina don't want any more stupid boys. George can't keep fighting for what he doesn't believe in. A car crash prompts a family to decide what enough really means for them. Has Alex decided he's had enough of his *bad boy* persona? Ayla has had enough of Tamzen's hatred for things that start with "P". But most of all we have had enough the answer to the question is still YES YOU WERE IN A RELATIONSHIP. Happy New Year! 2022 is here and so is Seaon 2! We wanted to do something a little special this round and had a go at recording in the same room - damn we were cute. Is your new years resolution to air that dirty laundry and come clean on some secrets? No? Well the team at Grey Sloan certainly gave it a go. This episode is the aftermath of the finale of Season 1. Webber assigns George to be his super secret spy for the day - his eyes and ears - what will he uncover? Christina finally confides in Mare at Joe's Bar. Joe collapses and they run to his aid - Alex is very upset by the news - Ayla is upset by the flipped shot glasses. Addison is POWERFUL and requests the service of Meredith for the day. Derek's confessions fall on deaf ears. This is a pivotal episode where Greys Anatomy changes language and introduces "My Person" to zeitgeist and we have never been the same. We are back after a 3 week wait with Episode 7 of Season 18! We were sold a fairy tale, but delivered twisted tale. A tale that has us questioning everything we know about the way time works at least! A tale jam packed with lusty looks, crusty wigs and on-call room dalliances. A tale that leaves us wondering why Bailey has only just started to get the respect she deserves, how in the hell do you say “anaphylaxis” and WHO THE HELL IS LOOKING AFTER MEREDITH'S KIDS?! Because Nick certainly doesn't care. We missed a lot of the team at Grey Sloan this week and have some interesting theories about where this season is going with only one episode left until the break.Contact us at email - scalpelsandtequila@gmail.comInstagam - @scalpelsandtequilapodcast@missthayes and @ms_ayla_azureTamzen and Ayla xHosted by Tamzen Hayes and Ayla AzureGreys Anatomy CreditsCreated by Shona RhimesStarringEllen Pompeo - Meredith GreyChandra Wilson - Miranda BaileyJames Pickens Jr - Richard WebberKevin McKidd - Owen HuntKim Raver - Teddy AltmanCamilla Luddington - Jo WilsonCaterina Scorcone - Amelia ShepardKelly McCreary - Maggie PierceChris Carmac - Atticus LincolnRichard Flood - Cormac HayesJake Borelli - Levi SchmittAnthony Hill - Winston NduguJaicy Elliot - Taryn HelmAbigale Spencer - Megan HuntScott Speedman - Nick MarshE.R Fightmaster - Kai BartleyGreg Germann - Tom Koracick
Irina Shayk and Kanye West are OVER. According to a source (Shmim Shmarshmashian?) they had never even begun! So begins our episode... which is way more relationship-heavy than normal, but hey, sometimes Whos are splitting up and getting together and calling off their joint YouTube channels and getting engaged with horrifying photos and revealing their babies and pregnancies with spondon en masse and there's NOTHING we can do about it! In non-relationship news, the celebs were ALL at The Day of Indulgence, including one who literally shall not be named, and [SPOILER] hosted a two-day event called (this is not a joke) Kroger's Wellness Experience. Yes, that Kroger. As always, call 619.WHO.THEM to leave questions, comments and concerns, and we may play your call on a future episode. Actor and director Colman Domingo has become a star on AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, in front of the camera and behind it. Occupy Wall Street had its one-year anniversary on September 17, 2012. Civilians artists were out for that entire year conducting interviews with the protesters. We presented some of those interviews on September 17 at Joe's Pub, along with thirteen other colleges and theater groups from around the country, who also put on their own performances of Occupy interviews on the same day. This week's podcast episode, recorded at our live performance at Joe's Pub, kicks off with Dan Domingues as Billy in an interview conducted just before #S17. Next is an interview performed by Emily Rossell that was conducted after Zuccotti Park was shut down. This episode closes out with Caitlin Montclare, Alex Nolan, Amanda Ruzza, and Liz Kelly perform The Punk Prayer: the song that was performed by Pussy Riot in Russia that led to some of the members serving a two-year term in prison. Interviews for this podcast were conducted by Dan Domingues and Kelly McCreary, and the live performance at Joe's Pub was directed by Mia Rovegno. For Episode #2 – In The Middle – we’ll travel from a decrepit lot on 13th Street to a claustrophobic middle-school crush to the cold expanse of Antarctica. Guests will include Mat Smart, MacKenzie Meehan, Matthew-Lee Erlbach, Kelly McCreary, the music of Phil Pickens, and the photography of Britannie Bond.
The elevated public park, the High Line, is built on historic freight rails elevated above the New York City streets. Interviewees featured in the show include Robert, Robert's mom and dad, staff at Friends of the High Line, Bronson Van Wyck, 2005 NYC Democratic mayoral candidate Gifford Miller, Director of the Department of City Planning Amanda Burden, and Florent Morellet. The show was created for our Annual Spring Benefit at The Highline Ballroom in the spring of 2012. It was written by Steve Cosson with songs by Michael Friedman, and performed by Associate Artists Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Matt Dellapina, Dan Domingues, Daoud Heidami, Nina Hellman, Daniel Jenkins, Kelly McCreary, Greg McFadden, Maria Elena Ramirez, Robbie Collier Sublett, and Sam Breslin Wright. More Zuccotti Park protesters are featured in this next episode crafted from interviews with Occupy Wall Street demonstrators. Kelly McCreary plays Karen, who discusses what it was like to spend time at Zuccotti Park just before and during the November raid. Quinlan Corbett plays Wezel, a farmer who drove to Zuccotti Park from North Carolina. Then Daniel Jenkins performs his interview with an anarchist named Richard, during which Dan Domingues makes a guest appearance as New York State Senator Tony Avella. The legendary Axel Braun starts off this week's episode. Our interview with him inspired both this monologue, performed by Brad Heberlee, and the song "Squirting 101" in A Pretty Filthy Podcast: Part IV. This week also has Porn Charades, Round 2 (in which an audience member tries to act out a porn movie title and the cast and audience try to guess what it is), Kelly McCreary as Ms. Brown Sugar, and Lexy Fridell singing "ABC, 123" by Michael Friedman. The live performance took place at Joe's Pub. These interviews were conducted by our artists with real adult entertainment professionals for Pretty Filthy, a new musical by Bess Wohl and Michael Friedman. For more, please visit http://www.thecivilians.org.To leave a comment, please visit The Civilians' blog http://blogforthecivilians.blogspot.com/!yes
