We are MAD today. Oooft the rants we go on.Welcome to the land of Death and Die, it seems to be Sadie's Anatomy and no one at Seattle Grace consented to it. The interns have gotten scalpel happy. Today at Seattle Grace we are punching children over Graham crackers and struggling to find a balance between chaotic personal life with an orderly professional one. The difference between Lexie and Merediths views on family, the most uncomfortable text message and George's inappropriate job. We also talk about the fine line between fantasy and reality and how it relates to our patients Ava and Greta. We are also losing our minds as we asses the strain that idealised relationships can have on our mental well-being. There is also a hysterical pregnancy, Callie's struggle with her sexuality, Ava's desire for her body to match her face and Mark's speaking straight from a Mills and Boon.Tamzen and AylaxxxGreys Anatomy CreditsCreated by Shonda RhimesStarring :Ellen Pompeo - Meredith GreySandra Oh - Christina YangT. We're baaack. After a tiny hiatus because of surgery and some personal stuff. We are together for the second half of this chaotic double episode. How often do we truly understand the demands and challenges endured by medical professionals, especially amidst a landscape fraught with sexism and racism? The challenges of being in a relationship with a medical professional are often overlooked. In this episode, we shed light on the heart-wrenching waiting game that partners endure for quality time, and the internal struggles of characters like Tuck, caught in the vortex of these complex dynamics. Then, we take you through an insightful discussion on the racism existing within the medical profession, embodied by RAG.As we wrap up, we delve deep into the emotional struggles, the intricacies of friendship dynamics, and the striking narrative about Izzy defying the "Be a shark" trope. It's Spooky Season at Seattle Grace and we are hunting for ears. This week on Scalepls and Tequila we are stuck wondering whether we have missed an episode.Meredith is haunted by the creature lurking in her closet. Finally people start to take notice of the ghoulish way Cali has been treated. An unlikely witches bond forms between her and Christina. The black cat is out of the bag - everyone knows about Izzie and George. Bailey's husband is making her feel like a monster, meanwhile all the ladies in the hospital are making Derek feel like a superhero. Only one costume this week, but we have more questions than answers. Trigger warning this week for Eating Disorders , Disordered Eating and Body Dysmorphia. What is forgiveness? Can it be done? Where is everyone's breaking point?Seattle Grace today is full of running ducks and lost fights, punches that were never thrown and trips that were never taken. We see patients push their bodies to the limits for the benefit of other people and that makes our residents question their own limitations and how far they are willing to go to forgive and forget. Callie lets her anger out on a grieving spouse, George weasels his way out of conflict, Izzie gets her boxing gloves on and Christina gets the popcorn.Support the showThis podcast is recorded on stolen land of the Wurundjeri people. Things get really dark at Seattle Grace this week as we dive into Part 1 of the Season 6 finale, “Sanctuary,” the infamously grim active shooter episode. While plenty of tragedy and trauma ensues, we're continually wowed by Chandra Wilson and sing the praises of Jessica Capshaw, Sarah Dow and Michael O'Neill as Mr. Clark. We also can't be sure of how to pronounce “Chyler Leigh.” Plus: guest star Mandy Moore, J.A.G. cameos, lunch with John Goodman and a best supporting anniversary. That's a wrap on season 2! The interns all perform monologues for Richard while Denny tragically passes on from a heart complication, Meredith and Derek contaminate one of the hospital rooms with sexy prom sex, and George convinces Callie not to give up on him by professing that he does not love her. We're back in Seattle Grace this week to discuss the first episode of Season 3, complete with Izzie in a prom dress on the bathroom floor, dark and twisty Meredith, Adele in a yellow raincoat, Bailey's hospital room door moments with the guy from "Diary of a Mad Black Woman," the subtle rage of Addison and Yang's 11th hour declaration of love. Plus: Callie gets a spot-on monologue in the kitchen, Derek and George have zero chemistry in a locker room and we have much to say about grief food, red flags, and the aforementioned "Diary of a Mad Black Woman." This episode contains a trigger warning as we do discuss the overturn of Roe vs. Wade and also how forced pregnancy is a major storyline in this episode. It is the beginning of a new year at Seattle Grace and we have one one resolution - Derek can go straight into the dumpster fire. This lesson is Gaslighting 101 and we have to apologise to Addison, from our younger selves, for not seeing how awfully she was being treated. This episode is all about Denial. Christina and Mare denying that an 80 hour work week is enough, Weber Denying the nurses their basic rights and Ayla Denying that she has to deal with Denny coming into our lives again. George doesn't let his patient's parents deny them the truth and Tamzen fights denying their parents aren't that bad. Bailey is in denial about her pregnancy getting the better of her. None is denying the dog has to go. Did we mention Denny is here? This episode is all about communication, so with that in mind we let ourselves go off on a few tangents today and reassure ourselves that NO is not a dirty word, it is also a full sentence. CALZONA most definitely faces some ups and downs on this show (don't get us started on the #leg stuff), today we're focusing on the early days of their relationship and specifically Arizona's reaction to Callie being so new to dating women. Is this a ridiculous and hurtful rule Arizona has created for herself, or is she setting a healthy boundary? How can we be a supportive partner to somebody newly navigating their evolving sexuality and do Arizona and Callie provide us any guidance on how to do so? We'll get into all of that… and rant about George O' Malley a bit. “Doctors” Anna Bezahler and Stephanie Burchinow discuss season 2 episode 7 of Grey's Anatomy! This week enjoy learning about ass culture at Seattle Grace, gossip etiquette, AND an incredibly terrifying interview with some of the nurses from the hospital.
What superstitions do you buy into? Hot coco juju, personal scrub caps, and specific pre-surgery stretching rituals may not be enough to ensure the safety of every patient at Seattle Grace. There is also a tussle in a women's restroom, a rage fueled berating in the locker room, and *gasp* a kiss between patient and doctor. Editors note: please excuse the sound quality. We acknowledge it in the episode but we only had 1 working microphone and our pup-caster Jada was in RARE sassy form.
The year was 2005. George W. Bush was president, we listened to music on iPods, and Netflix was still a DVD-rental-by-mail service. It was also the year that marked the beginning of an era in primetime television: the premiere of Grey's Anatomy. On this episode of Not Over It, we're revisiting some of the show's most iconic moments (for better or for worse), storylines we still can't get over, and the show's most heart-wrenching character departures. Join us as we try to remember all 17 seasons of ups, downs, and close encounters in the elevator at the hospital formerly known as Seattle Grace. Your favourite TransAtlantic podcasting crew continue to try their hands at a little TV Pilot Analysis and we're having our first day as surgeons at Seattle Grace as we take a Ferry Boat over to Grey's Anatomy. We've got Ian in the pilot's chair and Ellie is scrubbing inthis week as she's never seen the show. Relocate with us as we discuss: ABC's movement to target a female audience in Primetime in the early 2000s Ellie gushes over Canada's own Sandra Oh for a while We discuss the unique (but way overdue) casting process that Shonda Rhimes decided should occur for this show We discuss which character was added after the majority of footage had been completed Is this the perfect combo pack for Desperate Housewives? Who was the character of Meredith Grey supposed to be romantically involved with originally? Ellie gives his first impressions of the series, having never seen it before Would we ground the Grey's Anatomy pilot or is it cleared for takeoff?

Grey’s Anatomy bids farewell to one of the show’s original characters, Dr. Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). The doctor fans loved to hate and hated to love wrote letters to Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.) and Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington). The letters reveal that he has moved to a farm in Kansas with none other than his life-long lost love, Izzie Stevens - who fans haven’t seen on the show since 2010. In addition to the news, Karev also revealed that the two have twins - a boy and a girl which is ultimately his reason for leaving Seattle-Grace behind for good. This week, Steve and Nadia talk with YA author Amy Spalding (@theames) about the specific topic of TV's long-running medical drama Grey's Anatomy, and its 24th episode, Season 8 finale, "Flight." We get into the doctors, Seattle Grace, the plane crash, and why Amy loves Grey's so much still. What else is filmed in Big Bear? What about the bureaucracy of hospital ownership? And exactly how many secret sisters does Dr. Meredith Grey have?! Let's do this again some time!
Callie has survived the musical episode and is on her path to healing. She can't see Sophia and it is killing her, and it is killing us watching this. This episode spans over 12 weeks so LUCKILY we get to see Callie leave the hospital with Sophia in her arms, but only after she has a breakdown. Turns out it's not just the accident that is making her anxious, it's just the fact that she is now a parent. Other side stories, Teddy and Henry are flirting hard, Karev unethically gets dragon lady to give him $100,000 to bring children from Africa over to Seattle Grace, and Cristina and Teddy are still not working together. In this episode, Pastor Jeff Hundley continues our study through the Epistle of Ephesians with a teaching of how we can seek and expect life-changing spiritual experiences of God's multidimensional love from Ephesians 3:14-21. -- In "The Church: Grace Made Visible," we explore God's design for his Church as revealed in the Apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians. What we will find is that God's Church is not a place but a people who have been gripped by the gospel of grace. Together, they form a worshipping, missional community who revel in the grace of God while carrying out their collective calling to make much of Jesus in the world that is. Admittedly, the Church does not always live up to who God created her to be, and as a result, many people have fallen out of love with the Church. Nevertheless, as we uncover what Scripture says about God's plan and purpose for His Church, we will, by God's grace, find ourselves falling in love with Her all over again. After all, Jesus still loves the Church, for it remains His eternal Bride.
Krista Flentje and L Marie break down Grey's Anatomy season 15 episode 16 "Blood and Water" in which Meredith finds herself having to side with either Alex or DeLuca during a difficult situation; Maggie reveals details about her personal life that cause a public stir; Levi struggles with whether or not to tell his family about Nico. Grey's Anatomy is an American medical drama television series that premiered on American Broadcasting Company (ABC) as a mid-season replacement on March 27, 2005, and is currently in its 15th season. The series focuses on the fictional lives of surgical interns and residents as they gradually evolve into seasoned doctors, while trying to maintain personal lives and relationships. The title is a play on Gray's Anatomy, a human anatomy textbook by Henry Gray. The show's premise originated with Shonda Rhimes, who serves as an executive producer, along with Betsy Beers, Mark Gordon, Krista Vernoff, Rob Corn, Mark Wilding, and Allan Heinberg. The series was created to be racially diverse, utilizing a color-blind casting technique. Although the show is set in Seattle, it is primarily filmed in Los Angeles, California. The show was originally to be called Complications following the obviously complicated medical procedures and personal lives of the cast. The series follows Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), the daughter of an esteemed general surgeon named Ellis Grey, following her acceptance into the residency program at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital. During her tenure as a resident, Grey works alongside fellow doctors Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh), Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl), and George O'Malley (T. R. Knight), who each struggle to balance their personal lives with the hectic work and training schedules assigned to them. They are overseen during their internship by Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson), a senior resident who works beneath Grey's love-interest Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), the head of neurosurgery; Yang's fiancee Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington), the head of cardio; and Ellis Grey's ex-lover Richard Webber (James Pickens, Jr.), the Chief of Surgery. The residents are later joined by Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew), former Mercy-West residents who join Seattle Grace following an administrative merger in the sixth season. Throughout the first six seasons O'Malley, Burke and Stevens all depart the series which has become very controversial in the media over the life-span of the series. In addition to Shepherd, Webber, and Burke, the surgical wing is primarily supervised by Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), as head of trauma; Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), as head of pediatric surgery; Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez), a resident who later becomes head of orthopedics; Erica Hahn (Brooke Smith), as head of cardio; Mark Sloan (Eric Dane), as head of plastics; Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh), as head of OB/GYN, neonatal, and fetal surgery; Teddy Altman (Kim Raver), as head of cardio; and Amelia Shepherd (Caterina Scorsone), Derek's sister who is hired to replace him as head of neuro. This week on the On Call Room the elusive and lovely Johnny K stops by to chat with Abbey and Bri. He provides some insight into his feelings of Grey's anatomy. Spoiler Alert: he thinks Callie is very beautiful and claims M.A.S.H as his favorite hospital drama show....pretty rude seeing as he was on a Grey's Anatomy podcast. This is part 2 of the mash-up episode and is focused on Seattle Grace hospital, so if you haven't listened to Part 1, STOP push pause go listen to last weeks episode. Unless, you don't give a shit about Private Practice and Oceanside Wellness, then just continue listening to this current episode. Cristina wakes up to the mother's invading her apartment. That's right folks it is wedding planning time! This provides the viewers with some humor, as Cristina is obviously super uncomfortable. She's a good sport though, trying on puffy sleeved dresses and asking people to be her bridesmaids. Spoiler Alert: The bridesmaids dresses are absolutely hideous--however to be fair, aren't all bridesmaids dresses hideous? Susan Grey gets the hiccups, which long story short she dies. Which is weird and super uncommon, cause...it's the hiccups. Regardless, it is all terrible and sad and then Thatcher slaps Meredith....which is also pretty messed up. She will be unpacking that one for quite sometime. Alex and Ava are still being Alex and Ava *eye roll*. George and Izzie are still being George and Izzie *eye roll*. While Mike was the only one alive to see the original as it came out, the gang launch into Lost In Space with gusto, wondering if the show can recapture the spirit of the original and if that was a good thing . Remember how much we talked about Ryan Gosling silent pauses? What if that was the idea of the whole film? A Quiet Place forces us to look at our appreciation of silence once more. What if Christina Yang left Seattle Grace for another hospital, only it wasn't a hospital it was a security firm? Interested? No, neither were we, but because we care about our fans we reviewed it anyway and what we found might just be a little surprising....
This week on The On-Call Room, Abbey and Bri are recording during an epic thunderstorm. Abbey admits that she's always been afraid of thunder and lightning and the two of them ultimately creep the hell out of themselves. Bri wants to feel validated about her knowledge about the surgeons and their jobs - and spoiler alert - she is in the end. Abbey praises Izzy's locker room shake down and Bri questions how Karev will ever redeem himself #mcdouche. They attempt to name their own lingerie lines (unsuccessfully), share stories about squishing bugs and speak to tampons. The characters are FINALLY being defined and Abbey and Bri continue to discuss their favorite Seattle Grace doctors.

(16:40)...Joe the Bartender as the Hogwarts ghost of Seattle Grace (19:25)...chisme and the Chief (29:45)...the confusing legal status of Joe’s “dead” body (35:00)...how love means having to explain exactly what you're sorry for (49:00)...and our BITS (54:20) which include a more-disappointing-than-usual Karev of the Week (57:25)...and Megan's truly metal Medical Fact of the Week (1:05:45).
It's the penultimate episode of our first season and the first season of Grey's Anatomy! While jogging, washing dishes, taking a transatlantic flight, please join us as we cover: the episode summary, sponsored by the ticking clock sample on GarageBand (1:20)...McDreamy's transformation into McShady (3:25)...the bitchy (but productive!) rapport between Devo (the patient, not the band) and Karev (8:10)...the full spectrum of abortion feelings as experienced by Yang and her patient Zoe (15:30)...how at Seattle GRACE you gotta have faith, faith, faith (30:48)...and our bits! (41:30) including our songs of the week (has any one heard Band of Horses and 78 SAAB play at the same time??)...our surprising Chief Resident (45:30)...and our unsurprising 007 (47:10). Thanks as always for listening and we'll see you next week for the Season 1 finale!
