Nem is tévedhettem volna nagyobbat. A menopauza természetes folyamat, amely egy bizonyos kor után minden nő életében bekövetkezik, és erőteljes kihatással lehet az élet minden területére, az egészségtől a párkapcsolaton keresztül a munkavégzésig. Mégis nehéz róla beszélni. Ezt a könyvet azért írtam meg, hogy segítsek azoknak a nőknek, akik már a beléptek a változókorba, és miközben nem tudják pontosan, mi történik velük, de szeretnék visszakapni a testük és lelkük feletti felett kontrollt. Emellett azoknak a nőknek is szól, akik még a menopauza előtt állnak. Old and new research, has this been good for osteopathic education? I contrast and compare the work of Denslow and Korr to the later work by Fryer et al and see the effect on undergrad education. Many thanks to Mervyn Waldman and Alain Abehsera. The sequelae from the papers by Fryer et al, over the last 25 odd years, have been instrumental in removing traditional osteopathic concepts from undergraduate education. The use of these concepts has been observed to work in the clinic and has helped millions of patients around the world over the last 120-plus years, often leading patients away, as they vote with their feet, from mainstream medical care to an osteopathic system of care. This podcast is about how Fryer et al have attempted to reproduce Denslow and Korr's experiments from the 1940s, I have compared and contrasted their laudable attempts at reproducing these experiments by taking a deep dive into both the Denslow and Korr research and the Fryer et al research, the findings are surprising. I have been working on and sitting on this for a couple of years now. With the help of Mervyn Waldman and Alain Abehsera, we knocked my 10,000-plus words of notes down to a more journal-like length of 2-3000 words. However, we had to leave out so much of the detail as it is a long and complex subject covering lots of papers, and doing that just didn't do it justice. So, I have decided to publish it here on the Classical Osteopathy Podcast which over time more people will listen to than would have read it in a journal.

A 20. századi magyar történelem számtalan „forró” korszakával szemben a Rákosi-kor kevéssé áll emlékezetpolitikai viták kereszttüzében. Mindez nem a történelmi távolság miatt van így, hiszen a megelőző évtizedek, az 1944/1945 utáni átmeneti időszak vagy a Horthy-korszak megítélésében koránt sincs konszenzus. Az 1948/1949 és 1956 közötti periódusban ugyanakkor a késő sztálini szovjet rendszer erőszakos átültetése zajlott, és kevesen vitatják, hogy egy olyan diktatúra épült ki, amelyet a belső és külső ellenségkeresés, a gazdasági irracionalitás, a mindent átható propaganda, a hétköznapi mozgósítás és a nemzeti szuverenitás teljes feladása jellemzett. Ráadásul már a Kádár-korszakban elhatárolódtak a Rákosi-kortól mint a „személyi kultusz időszakától” – még ha ez ellentmondásos módon, azt egészében meg nem tagadva, alapvető intézményrendszerét megtartva történt. Egyetért ezzel a korszak két ismert kutatója, Feitl István, a Politikatörténeti Intézet tudományos tanácsadója és Baráth Magdolna, az Állambiztonsági Szolgálatok Történeti Levéltárának nemzetközi szakmai tanácsadója is. A Napvilág Kiadónál nemrég megjelent Kérdések és válaszok a Rákosi-korról című könyv szerzőpárosával kollégánk, Takács Róbert beszélgetett. Musik finns i naturen. Och naturen finns i musiken. Det här utforskar vi i ett special-Naturmorgon som görs tillsammans med programmet Klassisk morgon i systerkanalen P2. Fältreporter den här morgonen är Pernilla Eskilsdotter, till vardags programledare för Klassisk morgon. Hon finns på plats i Korrö naturreservat mitt i Smålands skogar för att utforska och filosofera kring ämnet musik och natur. Till sin hjälp har hon författaren Staffan Börjesson, som skrivit flera böcker som knyter ihop musik och natur, och slagverkaren Sofia Gustafsson. Hon får uppgiften att under morgonen skapa ett musikaliskt verk av det naturen har att erbjuda. Dessutom träffar vi fiolbyggaren Anita Matter. Chances are, if you were one of the 700 million people who watched the 2010 World Cup, you likely heard mention of the soccer games that prisoners on Robben Island played during the decades of apartheid rule. The stories of these soccer matches on the barren island, played by political prisoners sentenced to years of hard labor, were cast as evidence of the sport’s power to lift the human spirit, to bring inspiration in the midst of oppression. But the matches on Robben Island were much more than a diversion from the tedium and harshness of prison life. Hundreds of inmates participated in creating a fully organized league, the Makana Football Association, with multiple divisions, clubs governed by constitutions and officers, fixtures and tables, and league administrators. The workings of the association produced hundreds of pages of documents that ended up in 1993, by chance, in the hands of American sports historian Chuck Korr. Drawing from these boxes of materials and from interviews with the men who played on Robben Island, Korr produced a complete and moving account of soccer in apartheid’s most notorious prison.  This book, which he co-wrote with British writer Marvin Close, is More Than Just a Game–Soccer vs. Apartheid: The Greatest Soccer Story Ever Told (Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press, 2010). Korr brings to this story the perspective of an experienced historian of sports. And as he explains in the interview, never has he encountered such dedication to the ideals of sports as he discovered in researching the book. It is a story based on a sport, he explains, but it is also about the struggle for dignity and the conveying of values. Sudda Ola-operation på SvTUppmärksamheten kring att Ola Lindholms testats positivt för knark fortsätter att dominera i spalterna. Och på Sveriges television pågår nu en Sudda Ola-operation - där allt som har att göra med programledaren ska bort. Trots en hängiven publik har SVT valt att stoppa de sista avsnitten av serien och vill man se de tidigare avsnitten på SvT Play möts man av beskedet att videon saknas. Till och med stillbilder har plockats bort.
