Upcoming Albums, Tours, More _ _ __ _ _“Last weekend, progressive rock band TOOL faced a backlash from fans at their inaugural TOOL In The Sand festival in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The event, which featured performances by Primus, Mastodon, and Coheed and Cambria, was marred by TOOL's decision to play similar sets on both Friday and Saturday nights. Despite promises of unique performances, the band repeated four songs—"Fear Inoculum," "Rosetta Stoned," "Pneuma," and "Jambi"—leaving fans feeling shortchanged and prompting boos at the end of the second show. The high cost of attending the festival, which required purchasing vacation packages, further exacerbated fan disappointment, with some even considering a class-action lawsuit. This reaction highlights the high expectations fans have for TOOL's live performances, which often feature complex and atmospheric music that explores philosophical themes.” (Perplexity) ______Hosted by: Luke = https://bsky.app/profile/rockednet.bsky.social Alex = https://bsky.app/profile/voiceofalex.bsky.social Rowan = https://bsky.app/profile/rowbuck01.bsky.social

Ever taken a trip down memory lane to compare your childhood days to the kids of today? We certainly did in this week's session, sparked by Sam's recent trip to the circus, which oddly was more fascinating to her than the kids. We got talking about how the digital age has shifted perspectives and had us reminiscing about the value of exploration and discovery in our own upbringing. From childhood memories, we transitioned into a raw and honest conversation around a sensitive topic: celibacy. Brittany shared her personal journey, the challenges she faces, and her struggle to find a partner who shares her beliefs. We further navigated the complex issues of body count and societal double standards towards women's past. From Brittany Renner's self-proclaimed body count to PJ Washington's child support situation, we left no stone unturned.Things took a dramatic turn as we delved into the recent controversy surrounding Jason Derulo and his alleged sexual harassment lawsuit. It had us debating, not just about the lawsuit and its effect on his music and image, but also navigating the ever-changing landscape of dating and relationships in the modern age. We rounded off with some insights on the importance of honesty in relationships. Get ready to be intrigued and provoked in this tell-all episode. Please Like♥️, Share

No one did more for me in my first few years in comedy than Big Jay Oakerson. Jay got me started in comedy - so you can either thank or blame him. When I was 19, Jay performed at my college and I laughed my balls off. He mentioned being from Philly, so after the show I told him I was interested in trying stand-up; he told me where to go, who to talk to and … I did my very first set a week later. We talk about the night we met, his early days in comedy, driving from Philly to NYC with Kevin Hart everyday and share some cool memories of shows we did together when I was brand new. Pat House is a nationally-touring comedian based out of Philadelphia. A regular performer in comedy clubs, casinos, and theaters all over the country, Pat has been a choice opener for Sebastian Maniscalco, Tom Segura, and Dan Cummins. He recorded his first album Biggest Thing in 2013, and his latest album Heard Enough Yesterday, hit #1 on the iTunes comedy charts. Both can be heard on iTunes, Amazon, and Pandora.Big Jay Oakerson is one of the most beloved and easily recognizable comedians in New York City. His easy charm and dirty delivery endear him to audiences every night. Jay’s comedy career spans two decades and a journey from “comic’s comic” to mainstream fame. Beginning as a standout in the Philadelphia comedy scene, Jay quickly became a favorite among other comedians after his move to New York City. He’s no stranger to the rest of America, either, regularly headlining across the country and playing festivals including Bonnaroo, Jager's Korn tour, RockStar Energy Drink's Mayhem Fest, Gathering of the Juggalos and Funny or Die’s Oddball Festival. Jay has also been featured on This Is Not Happening with Ari Shaffir, Comedy Underground with Dave Attell, FX’s Louie, Inside Amy Schumer, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon & Conan. Jay co-host's “The Bonfire” on Comedy Central Radio Sirius XM 95 alongside Dan Soder Monday through Thursday 6-8pm EST. He is also the co-host of two wildly popular podcasts - “The Most Offensive Podcast on Earth” Legion of Skanks with Luis J. Gomez and Dave Smith and The SDR (Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll) Show with Ralph Sutton both on The Gas Digital Network. Jay’s debut hour special "Big Jay Oakerson: Live At Webster Hall" premiered on Comedy Central in 2016 & was filmed at the legendary music venue in New York City providing the perfect heavy metal vibe for the show. Jay's comedy is raw, compelling and honest to the core, as he takes viewers on a journey of brutal truths. His second special premiered in 2018 as part of “The Degenerates” on Netflix filmed in Las Vegas. He has 3 albums on Comedy Central Records, The Crowdwork Sessions: What’s Your F@#king Deal?! Volumes 1 & 2 recorded live at The Stand & The Village Underground that capture Jay’s raunchy, off-the-cuff essence with a full hour of crowdwork. They join Jay’s first album, An American Storyteller, a one-hour onslaught of unbridled awesomeness and raunchy rock n' roll hilarity.Oakerson has hosted 2 seasons of "What's Your F@#king Deal?! Crowdwork & Off The Cuff Comedy" on Seeso. Jay asks the audience to let go of pretension and leave egos at the door as he leads a pack of comics in a completely improvised show based on interactions with the crowd. The atmosphere is loose and no-holds-barred, so you'll see a side of the performers you've never seen before. Longtime fans of Jay’s will also remember him as Neil, the sexually ambiguous owner of a NYC rock club, on IFC’s Z-Rock, and from his appearances on Comedy Central's Premium Blend, Comedy Central Presents and Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn. He’s wowed audiences at the prestigious Just For Laughs Montreal festival an impressive four times, both on The Nasty Show and with his solo show, The American Storyteller. And he’s a fan favorite guest on Sirius XM’s Bennington (previously Ron & Fez).

We asked FEST brands and businesses to send messages, news, promos and deals our way so we could help share and support what they're working on as, well, everything around us all shifts and changes. For listeners, the gems in this week's episode are twofold. First, you're likely to find a business you want to support or a deal you want to take advantage of (I know I found several). Second, the show is an excellent overview of how ethical and sustainable brands are responding to the need for continued marketing and connection with their audiences amid COVID-19. There are surprisingly creative approaches, as well as tried-and-true marketing tactics. You'll learn that not everything costs as much as you thought it might thanks to some recently-announced promotions from brands that sell FEST products and services. At at the same time, you'll also discover that it's not always necessary to offer a discount or a deal. There are other ways to generate interest and connection and other ways to inspire people to purchase. There are examples of each in the show, as well as a number of uplifting messages from other founders who know exactly what it's like to be where you are right now.  We'll also be sharing the deals and offers on Instagram this week and next. Visit us there for more -- and visuals to go with the brands' messages on the show. If you'd like to submit a deal or message, you can still do so here.   Sign up for the PressDope weekly email to get DIY PR tips and The Dope List of media opps, calls for pitches, FEST events and more ways to raise your visibility.

They joined us in the studio for the entire episode. We spent most of the episode taking callers from fans who asked the band about their new album, The Black Crown which hits stores on July 12th. In the second hour, we played everybody's favorite game show, Death or No Death, where we get a list of bands and have to decide which band is fake. During the music breaks we played a few new tracks from the band's new album. Here is this week's playlist: Suicide Silence – You Only Live Once Meshuggah – Rational Gaze (Live) Suicide Silence – Fuck Everything Devin Townsend Project – Sumeria (featuring Joe Duplantier of Gojira and Paul Masvidal of Cynic) Veil Of Maya – Dark Passenger Suicide Silence – Human Violence Suicide Silence's The Black Crown is out July 12th on Century Media. The band will be spending the summer on the road for Mayhem Fest. We are giving away tickets to EVERY stop of the tour; Enter here! Want to keep up with Livecast updates? Add us on Facebook.

Even though this week's Livecast was without Noa and Sean, it was still all over the place. We were of course joined by Buz McGrath of Unearth, about 45 minutes into the show. Buz talked about the band's upcoming release, including revealing the title of the record. He also spoke about touring this summer on the Mayhem Fest (enter our ticket giveaway) and more. Besides Buz, we spent time talking about Vinnie Paul giving the thumbs up to things, we paid tribute to Peter Steele a year after his death, we learned about Jenny's sexcapades with other women, we talked about the new Shotime show, Gigolos and we played the new single from Bangs, Hi Hater, which sounds like he's saying hello to a certain Nazi. Here is this week's playlist: The Human Abstract – Digital Veil Megadeth – Paranoid Fleshwrought – Programming the Herds Unearth – Endless Lamb Of God – Terror And Hubris In The House Of Frank Pollard Born Of Osiris – Recreate Wormrot – Deceased Occupation Agoraphobic Nosebleed – Moral Distortion

Disturbed was part of the amazing lineup of Mayhem Fest during the summer of 2008.  I sat down with lead singer David Draiman in his dressing room a few hours before they hit the stage.  His intelligence and demeanor impressed me quite a bit.  This guy is one the smartest people I've ever met and despite his great success has absolutely no ego issues.  He rocks!
