In Episode #173 of The XS Noize Podcast, host Mark Millar speaks to Michael Smyth, guitarist and founder of Belfast shoegaze band Virgins, about their highly anticipated debut album ‘Nothing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful'. The album finds the band exploring a broader sonic palette, seamlessly moving between the gaze-pop of s l o w l y, l o n g and d i s a p p e a r e r to the dance-influenced s o f t e r. To the ethereal, heavy expansiveness of p a l e f i r e and t e n d. Their captivating sound doesn't rely on recycling shoegaze tropes but brings a fresh and contemporary approach to the genre. The album follows the critically acclaimed transmit a little heaven EP released in 2022. In this interview, Michael discusses the writing and recording of the album, upcoming live shows, musical influences, Star Wars figures and more. Hannah believes that "Persuasion" is the finest of Jane Austen's work. Can Suzanne be ... persuaded ... to also endorse that point of view? They discuss four major successful and attempted persuasions throughout the book and what Jane might be suggesting about the purpose and nature of influence. They also somehow manage to go almost the entire episode before discussing perhaps the most romantic declaration of love in any Austen novel. Love the pod? You can send us some dollars! Рецензия и обзор на новый альбом Moby — All Visible Objects. После грустного, но очень трогательного и содержательного альбома маэстро Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt, я ожидал подобного.

You don't always need pumping beats or distorted guitar, sometimes you need something stable, consistent, and hauntingly, drearily beautiful. Moby's latest album Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt delivers a predominant lo-fi trip-hop electronic mood with spiritual lyrics of the approaching apocalypse. Thank you for listening! After spending the last two years transforming his nightmare visions of our modern age and his internal agonies into razor wire post-punk, Moby is back in the business of electronic pop music. And what has poured out of him on his 15th studio album are equally dark visions rendered with music and performances that feel softer. Like the warm cushion of a goose down pillow as it settles on your face to suffocate you.A review by Robert Ham.Learn more about your ad choices. So, that was fun! The guys discuss the last-minute win on Sunderland's beet patch, Thierry Henry's unadulterated awesomeness, and the specter (spectre?) of AC Milan looming. Also some mad skillz from Cristiano Ronaldo, for no real reason.
