16th episode of the third season of ''Star Trek: Deep Space Nine''
POPULARITY
The Grand Nagus is acting kooky and it takes us several acts to find out why, but when we do, oh boy!.....we know then. But buckle up, because Dr. Bashir is nominated for an award, and Andy and Matt can't wait to hear who the other made-up nominees are! Several times. And someone's mispronouncing something, but you might be surprised who it's not.[Episode discussion begins around 1:27! I wish I could say the digressions end there.]For more information and extra content, visit patreon.com/startrektnc

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Series 3, Episode 16. First broadcast on Monday 20 February 1995. Basically nothing happens on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine this week, as Nathan undergoes a religious experience which inspires him to be terribly nice to people for a change, while Joe anticipates failing to win a major podcasting award. Still, sometimes it's just nice to hang out with the people you love, isn't it?

Matthew (he/him) and Jo (she/they) find their own “Prophet Motive” as they talk about money, money, money. The money that politicians acquire through insider training, the money that is inherent in a capitalist structure that this episode seems to support and the money that Paramount is sucking out of it's fans while canceling shows like Prodigy. Matthew questions Rom's drinking habits and Jo celebrates the arrival of the famous dart board on DS9. Also, we fully support stealing from your boss and from corporations, because both aggressively steal from you. Negas Zek is on the station and he's re-written the 'Rules of Aquisition!' Has the economic leader of the Ferengi changed his tune, or is there something deeper going on? Also, the good Doctor is up for an award or something. Keith & Mike sit down to do a long-form review of Star Trek DS9. Rebinging Star Trek DS9: Prophet Motive Hello Star Trek fans! Welcome to Season 3 Episode 16 of Deep Space Nine: Prophet Motive. The Grand Nagus is back and so, obviously, is Wallace Shawn! When the Nagus acts uncharacteristically generous and kind, Quark and Rom try to figure out what's wrong with him before he gets them all killed. Prophet Motive The Nagus makes an unexpected appearance on the station and takes over Quark's quarters. This all seems quite normal until he presents the new rules of acquisition which seem to be the exact opposite of all of the existing rules! Give people their money back? Latinum tarnishes, but family is forever? What is happening!? Quark starts a quest to find out who or what broke his beloved greedy Nagus. What's this rebinge thing? It's a re-watch of a thing you've already seen but love to watch and talk about. We go deep with every episode, walking you through every scene and analyzing all of the characters and story lines. Trek Untold: The Star Trek Podcast That Goes Beyond The Stars!
Today's guest is only one degree of separation away from Patrick Stewart, and Kermit, the Frog! Juliana Donald got her start in Hollywood with a major role in "The Muppets Take Manhattan." She followed it up with appearances in many other shows and films en route to appearing three times in the Star Trek universe.Juliana first appeared in the season three episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" titled "A Matter of Perspective," and followed it up a few years later in the third season "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" episode where she seductively rubbed Quark's ears in "Prophet Motive." Her last appearance saw her in the bizarre interactive video game, "Star Trek: Borg."In this episode, we discuss working on one of the hardest to shoot episodes of TNG that was ultimately panned, being directed on DS9 by Rene Auberjonois in his first time under that role, a hilarious story about Armin Shimmerman, and why the Borg video game was the death knell for her career in Trek.Plus, Juliana's theatre background, working on her first film with Jim Henson and The Muppets, working with Woody Allen and Mia Farrow on "The Purple Rose of Cairo" doing voiceover work in Anime before it was as popular as it is today, being on an episode of "Murder She Wrote" with Angela Lansbury, Roddy McDowall, Bill Maher, Dee Wallace, and Brad Dourif, working on "Walker, Texas Ranger" with Chuck Norris & Sheree Wilson, "The X-Files," and Dennis Franz on "NYPD Blue," and much more.Don't forget to subscribe to the show and leave a rating if you like us!The views expressed on air during Trek Untold do not represent the views of the RAGE Works staff, partners, or affiliates. Everything is the Prophets' fault on DS9 this week! First up, giving a dude a prophetic vision 3,000 years ago leads to some loose interpretations during a scientific experiment in "Destiny"! After that, Grand Nagus Zek has seemingly turned over a new, altruistic leaf and Quark can't deal with it in "Prophet Motive"! Also this week: pun types, that guy from everything, and adapted from a "Taxi" script. [Timestamps: "Destiny": 02:28; "Prophet Motive": 42:24]
Mercy after inadequacy. A shipyard for building arks . Iran as the imitation game. And $5k to join the new economy.

A homily delivered on 9-29-18 at St. Thomas the Apostle parish in Peabody, Massachusetts. Based on Moses' statement in Numbers, "Would that all the people of the Lord were prophets!"
When Grand Nagus Zek tries to completely change Ferengi culture, Quark heads into the wormhole to obtain answers from the Prophets. DS9 might have tried to move the Ferengi away from their characterization as one-note jokes, but Ferengi episodes still tend to serve as the "comedy" episodes of Star Trek: DS9. And yes, putting "comedy" in quotes was entirely intentional. We get reacquainted with the Prophets, and it might not be for the best. Also, Bashir embarks on a weirdly pointless story that takes a subtle dig at the TNG production! Wes flies solo in this podcast, so listen as he wonders about the depth of the Ferengi, the best aspects of the Prophets, and the not so subtle references to sex that DS9 really enjoys! Deep Space Stein is finally upon us! That's right, folks, the guys are diving into a day of drinking craft beers and watching Star Trek. And since today's episode is a goofy wallop of a Ferengi episode, we're joined by our good buddy Kregg! You'll hear us discuss the nostalgia of many 90s TV commercials, a bevy of Fake Rules of Acquisition, geriatrics, and the first (and probably last) episode of Kregg's Craig's Krag's Crags. It's a delightful romp into the inner workings of Quark's (and your hosts') minds that you won't want to miss!
