Broken District is a music label run by Jus Jam, Antwan, Scud and Real J, exploring alternative music styles that blend together house, jazz, electro, hip-hop and more. Starting in 2018, the label counts 10 releases with music from a host of SB favourites, such as SofaTalk, Jus Jam, Interface Palm, Real, J., System Olympia, Sam Irl, Turbojazz, Junktion, Setwun, and Jeppe Wolmer. Most recent release is "Curated Space" from Melbourne-based producer Interface Palm and featuring Horatio Luna, released May 13th. Upcoming is a new digital VA that sees the label exploring more electronic, uptempo sounds and a vinyl release from Italian jazz ensemble Slowaxx. "It was really fun to work on this mix. Really nice exercise because with our label we explore a wide variety of styles, tempos and sounds. All these differences made us really dive into the back catalogue for this mix in order to tell a real story, and try to tell a story that starts slowly, with downtempo and quiet sounds. We accelerate the pace a little bit with more house, deep stuff... to finally and slowly close down the mix with a downtempo track. Mix was recorded at home on both vinyl and digital, with a Mastersound Valve 4 rotary mixer. It is mastered by Pompon F."

The New J Israel set to release new single Feat Sean Kingston Music Links https://open.spotify.com/track/1g5MUoTTSfL1LAAyffBm15?si=iI-lbdRVTUGwrojwuURcxA Music and religion have always been closely intertwined, yet it still manages to surprise us when a musician turns to God. And to see a Preacher man turn toward music is even more surprising, yet that is the story of The Real J Israel. The voice of The Real J Israel has a wonderfully freeing aspect to it, that allows you to feel truly uninhibited, and if we may borrow from one of his songs, to “dance like no one's watching”. His voice has a fascinating timbre, very soulful, yet detached, that reminds one of artists like Michael Bolton, Babyface, and even the masterful James Brown. Each of The Real J Israel's songs manages to paint a vivid and versatile picture of life, love and human relationships, which makes his music easy to relate to. The Real J Israel is not an artist to fold neatly into any one genre, but rather focuses his attention on combining multiple styles. While many define him as an R&B artist (and that is indeed the genre he's closest to), there are also beautiful elements of soul in his music, making him popular with a diverse crowd of music fans. One aspect that stands out about this up-and-coming artist is how prolific he is. In the past year, he's put out countless good tunes, such as “I Love You” and “When You Need Love”, beside the ones we mentioned earlier. In that time, he's also amassed an impressive Spotify following that is over 25k strong, and shows no sign of stopping. This preacher-turned-musician is a versatile and gifted artist ready to share his passion (and obvious talent) with the world.

RIP DMX, one of our generations influential figures. In this bonus episode I take a look at comments made by Candace Owens regarding why many women aren't in real relationships or simply happy, also we deep dive into information I received regarding a relationship that seems great, but lacks one key element so tune in and decide if you were in that situation, would it be worth working on or is it time to walk away! Much love to Jessica for pulling up on a last minutes notice & engaging in some dope convo. As always, much love to those who support, stream and most importantly, SHARE. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/johnathan-shultz/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/johnathan-shultz/support
After 5 years of consulting, I was terrified to get a J.O.B. To my surprise and delight, it was actually a really positive experience (especially the people I worked with) and a huge set of building blocks for my career.
Welcome to Episode 23!!!! This week, roles reversed and my co-host, RoMo, said, "Fuck this, I'm interviewing you, bitch!" So who's the real Ghetto Genius, a.k.a., J-Wunder, you ask? A little bit of serious, a little bit of porn...basically, you're in for a wild ride. Thanks for tuning in! Enjoy!
J-L Cauvin is a comedian, impressionist, podcast host, and writer whose famous Easter Sunday video went viral in March with 7 million views on Twitter and 2.4 million on YouTube. J-L nails a better than perfect Trump impression. If you close your eyes, you may not be able to tell who is talking. Trump or J-L? On Friday, May 1st J-L's comedy album Fireside Craps: The Deuce debuted at #1 on iTunes (link below). J-L might be in the limelight now however, for 16 years the struggle was real.Since his undergraduate days at Georgetown, J-L balanced studying and working as a lawyer while mastering his comedy skills at night. For 16 years, J-L has been given many promising opportunities in comedy including appearing on late night television. However, J-L's career never grew to the level of success that he had hoped. For 16 years J-L has been in the middle of the arena waiting for his comedy career to take off with his head mostly planted in the dirt, daring greatly and rising strong (in the words of Bene Brown).I’m beyond excited to have J-L Cauvin (pronounced Co-Van) as my guest on Leading With Your Gut this week for a double feature. I became a fan of J-L's after watching his content on Youtube and then subscribing to his podcasts Making Podcasts Great Again and Righteous Prick. I quickly realized that J-L was talented, smart, vulnerable, and able to finesse politics and social issues into his humor so well. What I learned about J-L is that he has passion, drive, and humility to push through his failures. The first time we connected he told me that he was overwhelmed with the exponential growth that his comedy career has taken in last few weeks. In just a a short amount of time, everything that he has been working towards is all here now. Ironically, it took Covid-19 to give J-L the chance to be truly seen. J-L shares his story of courage, despair, and hope. In part 1 J-L and I discuss his background, struggles as a comedian, and gut instinct to continue following his dream. In part 2 we talk about Trump. And Trump actually stops by to answer a couple of pressing questions that I have...After you are done listening, please go buy J-L’s new album Fireside Craps: The Deuce rated #1 on iTunes comedy charts. In this episode, we talk about ASAP Rocky and his trial, Jermaine Dupri's comments on women rappers, and then we end with our discussion of J Cole. Is he getting the recognition he deserves? We'll let you know what we think. Also, there were some issues with the recording so it might sound like we're far away but don't worry, that won't happen again.

For more than a decade, Ramel Wallace, better know by his stage name Real J. Wallace has been a constant and tireless figure in the local San Diego Underground Hip-Hop scene. As a native born, self-taught San Diego artist, over the course of the past thirteen years Real J. Wallace has made the transition from the humble origins off an aspiring neighborhood freestyler to a prominent, local indie Hip-Hop innovator and finally into a celebrated and respected community leader. With his unique blend of classic Hip-Hop storytelling and eclectic production style incorporating jazz, soul and blues into his music, it goes without saying that Real J. Wallace has paved his own unique lane that sets him apart from nearly all of his musical peers in the greater San Diego area. With music showcasing his own sense of down to earth humility and cosmic spirituality; accompanied with soulful Golden era style production, through his music Real J. Wallace brings a unique perspective chronicling the vivid realities of the common man laced with the esoteric intricacies of the mysterious and the unexplored realms of our realities. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Real J. Wallace for a second time where we got discuss among other things; his experiences and inspirations from his early life and childhood, as well as the origins of his then fledgling music career. Likewise, we also got to discuss his latest projects in the works, his thoughts on the ever increasing threat of gentrification that threatens to lay siege on Barrio Logan and other communities across Southeast San Diego, the artistic movement currently blooming inside Barrio Logan, his latest position as a member on the board of the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art, as well as what the immediate future holds for him and his music. We hope you all enjoy our discussion with the one and only Real J. Wallace.
In this episode, Real J. Wallace came through to catch up with us and to discuss current events in the beginning part of the show. We shared our takes on Tom Brady, the Super Bowl, Jussie Smollett, Bow Wow, and 21 Savage. Things take more of a deeper turn from Nessa's NSA. After that, it was followed by a sermon from the Jah Father himself. A lot of jokes, gems, and unique takes on life were all dropped. Well, after a sizeable weekend, we can finally make available our recorded set from S*A*S*H By Day at Greenwood Hotel: Andrew Fazzolari—the other half of Attic—and I, opening the afternoon's proceedings. Of course, just two days before, we'd hosted our second Attic event—with Nachtbraker joining us as our very special guest—so it was fitting and incredibly enjoyable to share the bill with Maurits once again, in the wonderful sunny surroundings of North Sydney on a Sunday afternoon. This particular mix is a deeper, slower affair: 110–114 BPM melodic goodness; and a fairly decent insight into our musical ethos, and the sound we're pushing for our Attic brand—minus the disco flavours, of course. Our next act to grace the mix series is SB house favourite Real J from France. Real J (formerly known as Real D) exploded onto the scene last year with his killer track called Rhodes That. Be sure to cop his new Stuck In The Realness EP on Waxtefacts Rec; it’s been on solid repeat! @realJmusic
Mark Caneso Skyped with us all the way from Oregon and let us tell you, he is a little sarcastic firecracker...so we got along really well! He's an insanely talented typographer, letterer, and designer so we were excited to ask him about his background and process! We talk a lot about lettering, a lot about food, a little bit about milk, a little about beavers, a little about nails and string...all the exciting things! We were a little thrown off by his long pauses in conversation, but he's a sweetheart! Drunk on Lettering Theme Song by Real J. Wallace, Produced by Dayfade
Song by Real J. Wallace, Prod by Dayfade The super talented Real J Wallace (@realjwallace on Instagram) created the best podcast theme song in history. We know you guys are going to miss our drunken singing, but don't worry, there will still be plenty of it! Oh and you better believe we'll be coming out with a music video soon! Huge thanks to Real J Wallace! Lyrics: Yo , yo this is Real J, Roxy and Phoebe was drunk on lettering, And one day they gon' be drunk on Letterman Man, the type of woman that you give your letterman Go to the front of the function, and they just let 'em in, So heaven sent, soul melodies, Charcuterie over everything, Was in Puerto Rico, then they was in Palm Springs, Drunk schemin', Girl Gang over everything! You can see the world if you learn to draw the dreams, San Diego Letters, Recognizin' queens Invite kings to build regimes. They paint these walls and drips on feet, Babysitting--you go drink that drink? And why Phoebe always got some shit to say? That girl walk around like her shit don't stink! And we all tryina hustle so the rent get paid.
Have you ever been alone on this train? When was the last time you were alone? You can't remember, can you? So please do. Take your time. This week we hop on board Bong-Joon Ho's futuristic parable, Snowpiercer. Then, it's the second installment of the Does It Hold Up festival with Speed. Finally, a new segment called In or Out! Thanks to the REAL J.C. for the theme song!!!
In the podcast the gang has our good friends Real J, Leon and Piff come into the studio and talk some crazy shit. We have some interesting friends.
I recently backed up my bro, The Real J. Young, on a stunning karaoke rendition of a Queen Classic. His voxx are the melodic, closer to key ones. The sound bro totally didn't have J loud enough nor did he give him enough voxx in the monitor.
