Recorded on 21 March 2024 for ICMDA Webinars. Philippa Taylor chairs a webinar with Kallie Fell. The infertility industry around the globe has grown to a multi-billion dollar business changing the modern family and profiting off of a women's body. Through film, this presentation will explore third-party reproduction with a specific focus on the main commodity: human eggs. It's no secret that young women all over the world are solicited by ads—via college campus bulletin boards, social media, and online classifieds—offering thousands of dollars for their “donated” eggs, to “help make someone's dream come true.” Who is this egg “donor” and what is her reality? Kallie started her professional career as a scientist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center utilizing a Master of Science degree in Animal Sciences with an emphasis on Reproductive Physiology and Molecular Biology from Purdue University. Filmmaker and former pediatric nurse Jennifer Lahl's latest short documentary, The Lost Boys: Searching for Manhood, focuses on male detransitioners. We discuss film distribution, the festival circuit, crowdfunding, straight-to-online, subtitles (“How do you say ‘chopped off his penis' in Spanish?”), the obsolescence of DVDs, Jennifer's ex-boyfriend from her nursing school days, “trans healthcare”, the Crying Chicken Lady who says children should be driving, and Corinna's search for teen alpacahood. Lahl alleges this is her last film (we don't believe her) so watch it online for free right now. We are in the midst of a transgender moral panic. Where only recently, very few people sought what used to be called a sex change, today the numbers of people seeking to “transition” to the other gender—particularly among children and teenagers—is becoming a flood. Much of the American medical establishment and the Biden administration claim that immediately yielding to children's feelings that they are not the sex they were born is medically necessary, life-saving care. But is the science really settled? Recently, the United Kingdom, France, Norway, and other European countries hit the brakes on immediate gender affirmation in children—to the point that the UK shuttered its largest gender clinic for children as unsafe for patients. Even the World Health Organization—under political pressure, to be sure—just admitted that “the evidence base for children and adolescents is limited and variable regarding the longer-term outcomes of gender affirming care for children and adolescents.” The UK's National Health Service concluded that instead of encouraging transition, “the clinical approach has to be mindful of the risks of an inappropriate gender transition and the difficulties that children may experience in returning to their original gender role.” Such “returns” are known as “de-transitioning,” a phenomenon that receives far too little attention, and when it does, too often sparks bitter denunciation of detransitioners among radical gender ideologues. My guest today has dedicated herself to raising the public profile of this important issue. Jennifer Lahl has directed, co-written, and co-produced three important documentaries on the subject. The first, Trans Mission: What's the Rush to Reassign Gender? explored the medical ethics of administering puberty blocking and cross-sex hormone in children. That film was quickly followed with the release of The Detransition Diaries: Saving our Sisters, which told the stories of three young women who transitioned to living life as if they were men—only to realize that they are, indeed, women. And. completing the trilogy, the just released, The Lost Boys: Searching for Manhood, in which five young men describe their experiences with gender dysphoria and their ultimate pursuit to find peace in their natural masculine bodies. Among her many accomplishments, Lahl is a documentarian and founder of The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network. Her writings have appeared in various publications including Cambridge University Press, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Dallas Morning News, and the American Journal of Bioethics. As a field expert, she is routinely interviewed on radio and television including ABC, CBS, PBS, and NPR. She is also called upon to speak alongside lawmakers and members of the scientific community on various issues of bioethical concern. In recent years, surrogacy has become a staple in the medical field with little regard or thought of the impact surrogacy has on the human reproductive and evolutionary process. This week, I am joined by Registered Nurse Jennifer Lahl in a conversation about the lesser known tribulations that surrogate mothers face in contemporary society including health risks, contractual exploitation, and family breakage. Jennifer Lahl has been studying surrogacy for over 15 years and has assisted in the production of nearly as many films surrounding this highly contentious topic. Join us in our exploration of what surrogacy's greater impacts are on the human race's reproductive and evolutionary process.Jennifer Lahl, MA, BSN, RN is founder and president of The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network. Today I have the pleasure of having freelance writer and journalist, Meghan Murphy on the show. Meghan has a master's degree in the department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at Simon Fraser University, and has been writing about feminism since 2010. Known for going against the grain, she was the first to publish a critique of Slutwalk, back in 2011, and was one of the only popular feminist bloggers to publicly articulate both a radical feminist and socialist position against the sex industry. Meghan's critiques of third wave feminism, burlesque, self-objectification in selfies, gender identity politics, and choice feminism have brought both acclaim and attacks, but most of all recognition as a writer who isn't afraid to say something different, despite what progressive and mainstream media deem to be the party line. Meghan has spoken around the world about the issue of gender identity legislation and women's rights, including at the Canadian Senate and Scottish Parliament. Meghan was also featured in our documentary film Trans mission: What's the Rush to Reassign Gender. Most recently, Meghan is the is the founder and editor of Feminist Current, Canada's leading feminist website where you can find a unique perspective on gender, women's rights and many other issues that are often underrepresented or misrepresented by mainstream, progressive, and feminist media sources. Currently, Meghan is working on a book project of her own, which takes a critical look at third wave feminism. Today we talk with Meghan about her work and her views related to trans ideology and feminism. Charlie Jacobs joins Trending with Timmerie to share how she saved her daughter from a transgender identity while a public charter school and a private Catholic school lied and hid the truth about her daughter. She shares how to navigate the pronoun conflict and resources for parents going through similar situations. Jacobs discusses the role social media played, along with schools and school clubs, to groom her daughter into a transgender identity and to sexually exploit her. Donovan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Montevallo and a Master of Arts in English from Tulane University. His research focuses on the relationship between women's rights and gay rights, literature and sexual politics, and the social and political implications of transgenderism as an ideology, an industry, and an institution. Today, I talk with Donovan about the crossroads of his research and passion and the debate concerning the medical transitioning of children, which we also explore in our recent documentary Trans Mission: What's the Rush to Reassign Gender? You can learn more about his work at https://donovancleckley.com or join him in discussion by following him on Twitter.

Why is this legislation important to protect your children? This week, Jim talks with Brandon Showalter, a reporter for the Christian Post who focuses on covering LGBTQA+ issues. Brandon explains how the transgender movement has recently risen to prominence and shares his research on how it harms our children and our parental rights. Welcome back to this season’s final episode of Venus Rising. Today Kallie has a candid and informative talk with Brynne, one of the brave mothers featured in our newly released documentary “Trans Mission: What’s the Rush to Reassign Gender”. At age 13, Brynne's daughter began suffering from "Rapid Onset Gender Dysphoria” (ROGD), a poorly understood phenomena currently affecting hundreds of thousands of girls worldwide. ROGD is characterized by a sudden and severe rejection of a person’s biological sex and corresponding body parts in favor of an identity aligning with the opposite sex. Brynne realized early on that the “experts” proposed solutions to her daughter’s dysphoria all seemed to lead down a pathway of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones with potentially irreversible consequences, and she worried her daughter might later regret these changes. She was surprised to discover that any questioning of this medical pathway is routinely met with hostility and aggression, so she stands bravely in the gap for parents and their children, insisting on asking important questions that are often forbidden discourse. Brynne advocates for radical self-acceptance of peoples’ whole healthy bodies, diverse personality expressions, and the elimination of harmful gender stereotypes. She works with nonprofits that seek to raise funds for public education in regards to the harms and abuse trans-identifying people and their families suffer in the medical and mental health community.
PICU nurse turned filmmaker Jennifer Lahl creates documentaries to expose the harms of surrogacy and third-party reproductive technology. She is the founder and president of The Center for Bioethics and Culture Network and has addressed members of the European Parliament and the United Nations on egg and womb trafficking. In making her most recent documentary “Trans Mission: What's the Rush to Reassign Gender,” Jennifer tackles the immense risks to women and children as they lie at the center of Big Pharma, Big Fertility and Trans Ideology - together forming a seamless machine to exploit human bodies. She also emphasizes the critical role of empowered and creative parents in taking legislative steps to protect children and parental rights.
