There's a trust crisis in America. According to Gallup, trust is down in institutions ranging from government, to the media, schools, and just about everything in between. Unfortunately, non-profit organizations aren't immune from this decline in trust. In fact, the Edelman Trust Barometer shows that non-profits are now trusted less than businesses for the first time in 40 years. The trust crisis has real world implications for non-profits and the beneficiaries they serve as demonstrated by RKD Group's new study "Non-Profit Marketer's Guide to Trust". Their findings show a direct relationship between a donor's level of trust and their willingness to give AND maximize contributions over their lifetime. Amanda Wasson, RKD Group's Executive Vice President of Client Services, joins the show to deconstruct this pressing research. We deep dive into RKD's findings and, as importantly, walk through actionable steps non-profits can take to build and enhance trust with their donors. The non-profit sector can't wish the trust gap away, but we do have the tools the close it. Take your first step towards closing the trust gap with donors by listening to this interview with Amanda Wasson. If you get value out of our conversation with Amanda, please rate and review the Dynamic Non-Profits Podcast. Your feedback is appreciated and will help more dynamic fundraisers discover our content. ‘For the nineteenth century, Dutch artists had to try to emulate artists from the seventeenth century. It was the standard that they had to try and find. And if they exhibited in Paris, that's also what the critic said: "this is like a Ruisdael; that's like a Rembrandt; he's doing a very good imitation of that artist." And that's something they had to fight against, or overcome. And that only happened, with the advent of The Hague school, and its artists. There's also a French-Dutch part of the French School of Barbizon, whose own artists actually looked back to the Dutch seventeenth century. But it's that moment, in which the Dutch nineteenth-century artists come into their own. And they in-turn, become an export product, and become internationally known. Especially in America and Great Britain, these artists were very much sought after.' —Mayken Jonkman For the seventh episode of ‘Dutch Art & Design Today', I sat down with Mayken Jonkman, who is a Senior Curator of Nineteenth-Century Art, at The Netherlands Institute for Art History, in The Hague. Mayken is an art historian and researcher who takes an approach to her work that is kaleidoscopic in its nature. Since 2007, she has been a curator at the RKD, focused entirely on the nineteenth century, and specifically, interactions and artistic exchanges between France and the Netherlands. She has also been a lecturer in art history at numerous universities in the Netherlands; sits on the board of the European Society for Nineteenth-Century Art; and has authored a seemingly endless list of publications on artists, the use of photography by artists, and much more besides. In this episode, we trace these events in her life, all through the prism of the fabulously multi-faceted nineteenth century; with its many interlocking innovations, as related to society at large, from its cities, to its new modes of travel and transportation, to photography; and how all this affected its art. We then discuss her PhD, which she is completing at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, and is entitled ‘Retour de Paris. Artistic Exchanges Between the Netherlands and France 1789-1914', as well as the exhibition she guest-curated titled 'The Dutch in Paris 1789-1914', held at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and in Paris at the Petit Paleis. Lastly, Mayken explains what it is about the art of the nineteenth century that most fascinates her; and what it is that this period in history can teach us, today. Here you can listen to the podcast we reference in the episode, 'Dutch Artists in Paris', in which Mayken discusses her research. You can find out more about the RKD over on their website. You can find John on X @johnbezold and at his website johnbezold.com. 'Dutch Art & Design Today' is published by Semicolon-Press.

In de tentoonstelling 'Strike a Pose.

DOWNLOAD THE STUDY AND WATCH ALONG! https://info.rkdgroup.com/en/the-nonprofit-marketers-guide-to-generation-x Most non-profits seem to be focused on one of two things. Either, maximizing value from "traditional" / longtime Baby Boomer and Silent Generation donors or "getting younger" by finding ways to connect with Millennial and Generation Z donors. Both are important goals, but overlook the critical role that Generation X plays in the generosity landscape. Born between 1965 and 1983, Generation X is the "Latchkey Generation" which is frequently forgotten by marketers and fundraisers alike. However, the "Forgotten Generation" is forgotten no more thanks to a first-of-its-kind study produced by RKD Group The Non-Profit Marketer's Guide to Generation X. Their work reveals that non-profits are making a costly error by overlooking this educated, affluent, and generous generation which bridges the divide between digital and analog. Justin McCord, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing @ RKD Group (and fellow Gen-Xer), joins Dan to discuss this groundbreaking study which will change the way you think about generational fundraising. In this special watch-a-long episode (download RKD's study here), Dan and Justin go through the report's comprehensive findings and talk about what separates Generation X from their generational peers including: - The identity split which defines Generation X - Similarities and differences among the generations - Charitable giving behavior among Generation X - The values and attitudes which drive those behaviors, and much, much more... Justin and Dan go beyond the study's surface findings and also talk, about actionable channel, copy, and data suggestions which can help you incorporate Generation X into your fundraising strategy. It doesn't matter what generation you're from. Whether you grew up calling home on a payphone or an iPhone, this conversation will change the way you think about Generation X and how its donors can help grow your organization today and for decades to come. Dr. Seyfried has dedicated his career to changing the way we think about- and therefore treat- cancer. Going back to Otto Warburg and others, couple with newer research Tom and his colleagues are actively conducting, it’s clear that the origin of cancer is in a fundamental disruption of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. Cancer is not, as is commonly thought, a genetic disease. While somatic genetic mutations abound, their origin is from a proliferation of reactive oxygen species generated by damaged mitochondrial cellular respiration. The triggering agents for cancer are anything that disrupts mitochondrial energy metabolism, from chemicals and xrays, to viruses, diet (including GMOs) and lifestyle habits. Switching primary fuel sources from glucose to ketones by using the calorie-restricted ketogenic diet (RKD), we start to shut down the energy supply to cancer cells and reverse the trajectory of the disease.
