He spots a familiar face in a crowd and follws her to the palace used by Jaichim Carridin. When we switch points of view to Bors, he's meeting with all sorts of unsavoury folks.Mat heads to the palace to warn the girls but instead kicks not one but two hornests nests but running into a group of tower and rebel Aes Sedai, and then catching the eye of queen Tylin herself!After escaping both situations he heads back to the Wandering Woman only be be set upon by would-be assassins.Then, to finish things off we get a quick point of view from some Black Ajah sisters also looking for the Bowl, as well as an as yet unnamed beggar that will play a big role in the future.It's all happening!But what did you think of these chapters? Wheel of Time Spoilers 387 - COS - Ch 42 - A Crown of Swords pt2

We are joined today by Jason Denzel of Dragonmount again, because we talked for so long that the chapter had to be split into two parts. Illian gets a terrifying lightshow to accompany the thunder of an invading army pouring through giant gateways. The Saldaeans take the city without much fanfare, while Rand and Sammael get into a duel that wrecks the king's and council's palaces before taking their fight to Shadar Logoth instead. Trollocs and Myrddraal are sneaking about fearfully, Liah reappears briefly, and Rand falls through a floor. Before he can die an inglorious death in a lost basement, a mysterious wanderer (aka Moridin) arrives to save him, and they end up crossing balefire streams when Mashadar shows up. Rand makes a final attempt to kill Sammael but has to kill Liah instead, letting Mashadar take out Sammael in a way that we find generally unsatisfying. Rand returns to Illian and is presented with the Laurel Crown/Crown of Swords. Sammael meets with Graendal and argue about politics and the nature of reality amidst the depths of depravity. Classy. This is the chapter in which we learn the overwhelming majority of what we know about Shara! We also learn more about Graendal’s history before turning to the Shadow. Her newest additions to her collection of pretties are causing chaos in Arad Domon, all the better of a smokescreen to hide herself in at Natron’s Barrow. She tells him exactly what she’s doing, and where Demandred is, but Sammael only thinks with his sword and doesn’t believe her. Semirhage tortures Cabriana Mecandes for information to pass along to the newly reborn Arangar. She also ponders Shaidar Haran, and so do we. Elayne demonstrates her proficiency at cooking in the managerie's camp; a fun idiosyncrasy about her we rarely, if ever again see demonstrated, and sends Nynaeve off to bed with the twisted stone ring Ter'angreal. Once in Tel'aran'rhiod Birgitte informs her that she's managed to track down Moghedien in the Dream. Birgitte takes Nynaeve to the location and while behind the Dreamer's equivalent of a hunting blind, the two women watch Moghedien spy on a meeting between Graendal, Lanfear, Rahvin, and Sammael. This group of Chosen is discussing their plot to bait Rand into attacking Sammael where he'll be ambushed by the other three. This explains the Illianer daggers found on Assasin's near Rand. Birgitte pulls both of them away to discuss what they've seen, but when they arrive at their original meeting place, they find Moghedien has tracked them there. She destroys Birgitte's bond to the Dream ripping her into the real world, but not before a silver arrow pierces Moghedien's chest. Both are able to retreat and be healed, albeit in very different ways. We learn from Rahvin's inner monologue that although Morgase is under the influence of his compulsion, she is nearly impossible to fully control. Lanfear visit's Rahvin, she is the first to arrive of a meeting of four forsaken including Sammael and Graendal. While Graendal's gateway opens we peer through, and see a disconsolate Jain Farstrider. Four of the Chosen are Dead, and Asmodean had been taken by the Dragon as a teacher, leading these four members to meet and discuss a strategy. Lanfear has gathered together the strongest of the remaining Chosen and convinced them not to fight amongst themselves, but instead to focus on a cohesive strategy. In 2004 we got one of the greatest comic book movies ever made – Spider-Man 2. We also got Hellboy. It’s no secret, a lot of people really like Hellboy too! We rewind to celebrate Hellboy’s 15th anniversary as well as the reboot film of the same name out this month. Directed by Guillermo del Toro and loosely based on the Dark Horse Comics graphic novel Hellboy: Seed of Destruction by Mike Mignola, Hellboy stars Ron Perlman as the titular demonic-beast-turned superhero who secretly works to keep the world safe from paranormal threats with his team, the Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defence. Sixty years after Hellboy’s arrival, FBI agent John Myers (Rupert Evans) is transferred to the BPRD at the request of Trevor Bruttenholm (John Hurt), where he meets the adult Hellboy (Ron Perlman), Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), a merman with psychic powers, and eventually Liz Sherman (Selma Blair), a woman with pyrokinesis. The demon Sammael is released! With the power to multiply, Sammael becomes a problem.

Check Out The Empathetic Sketchbook Our friend Daniel Greene joins us again to discuss The battle for the Stone. After a Grayman makes an attempt on Rand's life while he's mid-conversation with Lanfear, he throws open the door to his apartments to find that the entire stone is under attack from Shadowspawn. Rand wades out into the madness, now unafraid of the Shadowspawn, and begins rallying defenders, Aiel, and whoever he can to defend the women and children who live in the Stone. Robert Jordan gives us a beautiful and unrelentingly brutal depiction of the battle that we will discuss line by line. Sammael sent the half dozen graymen to assassinate Rand, and the first wave of Trollocs and Myrdraal, Semirhage sent the SECOND wave of Trollocs and Myrdraal to kill the first, but once Rand comes to his senses enough to pick up Callandor, The Dragon kills them ALL. In a moment of fear, panic, and emotional distress, after creating a kind of sentient lighting which hunts all the Shadowspawn in the area into extinction, Rand attempts to save the life of a child who is lying dead in front of him. He makes her stand, restarts her heart, and makes her lungs start breathing again, all while Moiraine screams at him. Death cannot be healed, for the love of the light, not this Rand, not this... Moiraine's little group, Faile being the newest addition, are fleeing Illian. She believes that Sammael knows where they are, and they know Rand is on his way to Tear. Moiraine intends to either get there first, or intercept him there. Just outside of Illian, our protagonists realize they're still being tracked by the pack of darkhounds. There are few ways to kill them, Perrin picks up a bow, and Moiraine allows him to try and kill a few. Moiraine uses balefire to finish the remaining shadowbrothers. Mat and Thom are caught between towns, and make a primitive camp near the road they're traveling down, also on their way south. A group of Darkfriends approach them in the night, Mat manages to take care of the attempt on his life, with the exception of their leader, a woman. Thom kills her before she kills Mat, and manages to teach Mat a lesson; that a woman is easily as dangerous as any man. Mat points out that one of the men had tried to kill them before, but escaped the last time. He was not so lucky on his second try. Lan is Curious as to how Perrin sensed the graymen before he or Moiraine could. Perrin reluctantly explains that he smelled them, and as they've been tracking Rand he's scented them many times before. This time however, the Graymen were coming for Perrin rather than Rand. Lan is sure to point that out. When Lan brings Perrin and Loial outside to scout around the area, he finds a darkhound's track in some stone, and Perrin smells them nearby. Moiraine tells us that the graymen and darkhounds must have been sent from separate sources, because they would have interfered with eachother. We're able to deduce that Sammael sent the hounds to track them, but Ishamael sent the graymen to destroy them. Moiraine goes out into the night to confirm their suspicions. When she returns, we learn that Lan has killed one of the darkhounds, and Moiraine is sure that Sammael will know not only that they were responsible, but exactly where they are.
