For our 200th episode we are joined by special guest Marzi Montazeri. Notorious for his ground breaking work with groove thrash progenitors Exhorder, Montazeri takes us through the trials and tribulations of his musical evolution, tumultuous childhood, time with members of Pantera, and the Randy Rhoads Remembered experience. We also spend some serious time discussing the origins, and music of the recently formed Super Group Heavy As Texas, featuring the talents of Montazeri and vocalist Kyle Thomas (Exhorder). The duo recruited drummer Anup Sastry (Marty Friedman, Jeff Loomis, Skyharbor) and notable engineer and multi-instrumentalist Chris Collier (Korn, Prong, Winds of Plague) on bass for the recording, and later added full-time members Lenwood Sonnier on bass and James Goetz on drums. The bone crunching new self-titled album dropped April 19th via Crunchy Western Records and is available on all the major music platforms. www.heavyastexas.com www.instagram.com/heavyastexas https://www.facebook.com/heavyastexas/

"It's a lot more bipolar than the last record," measured Keshav Dhar, guitarist from Skyharbor, describing the recently released 'Sunshine Dust'. "That one was almost pretty all the way through. It was pretty, uplifting prog, but with this one there is still that prettier stuff but it is a lot darker. I think it's a bit of a mix of everything. We've got pretty stuff, we've got really aggressive, heavy, screaming stuff and we've got accessible catchy songs."In the full interview, Keshav goes more in-depth on the album, talks about re-recording it on the Gold Coast, the musical evolution of Skyharbor, the messages in their music, the early years of Skyharbor and how it turned from a three-piece instrumental act at their debut show into a global phenomenon plus more.
This week, regular co-host Cody joins us for a whole lot of news. And of course I immediately derail it by trolling him. But then, we discuss: Revolver's 20 essential nu-metal albums list, new music from Dol Ammad, Within the Ruins, Skyharbor, Monuments, Metal Allegiance, Doug Moore of Pyrrhon performing with an orchestra, Neckbeard Deathcamp, Science of Disorder, Voivod, Beyond Creation, Geist of Trinity, and Behemoth. Also Testament's new cryptocurrency. Then we do a cool people section about some games, movies, and Cody's vegetarian diet. Enjoy!

Just What We Were Built For Thank you so much for the support! We don't do this for fame and glory. We built this project because we are like you. We love turning friends and family on to new music. We were the guys that were bringing the mixed tape to the party. And we are still doing it today. Creating a podcast for the bands to gain exposer, for the fans to discover maybe the next great sound. And for me most importantly to stick it to those fat cat record executives that think they know everything but are only out to make the music industry a generic sound that can be made in a machine. We are not like any other show you will ever listen to. We are a community. Once a band is featured on The Unsigned Countdown and discussed on The Underground Recap Session. They are a part of our growing family. We only promote the musicians bands and artists featured and we are not bound by sponsor requests or restrictions. We have helped unsigned and independents collaborate for years now. We are eager to interview and have done live feed talks with some of the best. We continue to communicate by having artists join in the Recap Sessions, and coming back again will be the long awaited Bandangout. #5 Brakeless By Burn After Me From Milan Italy Genre Metalcore Find Them On SoundCloud YouTube Twitter Last FM Facebook Pinterest VK ReverbNation InstaGram Song Link http://youtu.be/k9HPdSy8txQ Burn After Me Info he band was born on February, 2012, and recorded the first EP titled “Healing my Wounds” at Old Ones Media Studio. Music is only my hobby, I don't have much time to work with the band so for now I temporarily froze SELFiNSiDE, but in time it will be back with more hard sound (alt metal mixed with death metal.. something like that). Instead Dan Jasone will sound less electronic/synthpop and more nu-metal/alt. metal/rapcore. It was released as a solo project in the year of 2013 by Guilherme de Alvarenga whose intentions were to blend compositional techniques from Classical Music, that he was learning at music college, with the powerful sonority of Heavy Metal! The sonority blends erudite techniques such as Motif development with aggressive sonority, Complex forms as the Classical Sonata with the simplicity of Heavy Metal riffs, Everything interlaced with dark climax and virtuous passages.
