Exhorder is one of the pioneers within the groove-oriented thrash metal scene, later occupied by heavyweights like Pantera and Machinehead. The New Orleands band, with vocalist and guitarist Kyle Thomas at its helm, has made waves in the metal scene since their debut album 'Slaughter in the Vatican' was released in 1990.  The band broke up a few years after their second album 'The Law' (1992) and didn't release new music until 2019 with the album 'Mourn the Southern Skies'. Man, I think I wanted to talk to Kyle Thomas from the legendary groove metal band, Exhorder more than anyone in a long time.Kyle has been a influence in the music scene for as long as I've been listening to heavy music, and his vocal style has been ripped off for years. Some of the biggest bands ever copped his sound, but we can't complain about that.Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?The band is back together again, and are celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal debut, Slaughter in the Vatican. They are taking the show on the road, and will be playing a venue near you in December, as well as key dates and festivals coming up in the new year.I was able to snag Kyle for a few minutes before our connection went to pot. After 10 days, we tried again, but our connection was still rough, so we cut it short and I cobbled the audio together for this release.
