The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast is on the air. The show this time is all about the many languages of Prog. Most progressive rock is sung in English, for reasons you probably already know well. However, a fair amount is sung in other languages. Because of that, quite a bit of progressive music does not get the attention it perhaps deserves. So, I am rectifying this just a little by featuring songs in a variety of languages. It's an international tour on Sound Chaser. I have In Memoriam features for musicians recently gone: Mark Volman, Rick Davies, and Nicky Ryan. The show features music from Magma, Yuka & Chronoship, Kraan, Ange, Tusmørke, Yesterdays, and many others. It's all here on Sound Chaser. PlaylistIcelandic1. Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Interviewing the Legends I'm your host Ray Shasho. KAIPA was the leading Scandinavian progressive band in the 70's and recorded five albums during the years 1975 - 1982. Their albums contained mostly instrumental music, drawing its influences from classic progressive rock bands (CAMEL, YES, GENESIS...), and classical music (BACH). Taking basic inspiration from Swedish folk music they performed an elaborate symphonic aiming at the expression of emotions and feelings in an aesthetic of formal beauty and melodic perfection. Initially the project of keyboardist Hans Lundin and bassist Tomas Eriksson, the band soon grew to include drummer Ingemar Bergman and singer/guitarist Roine Stolt, the latter of whom would eventually go on to form the Flower Kings. Twenty years passed before Lundin and Stolt re-formed a new edition of Kaipa, producing their sixth album, 2002's Notes from the Past. While the group's first five albums were sung entirely in Swedish, Notes from the Past was notable for launching their English-language phase, which continued each subsequent release. Although Stolt again departed, leaving Lundin to captain the band through its next decade, which produced a prolific four LPs. Kaipa has remained a staple of the Inside Out Music label. And now in 2024 Kaipa are back! In the summer of 1964 Hans Lundin's musical career started when he became a member of his first band as organist and singer. He says that the following years were "the best education I could ever get". Nine years later in 1973 he formed the group KAIPA. Now 60 years into his career he and his current bandmates Per Nilsson, Jonas Reingold, Darby Todd, Patrik Lundström & Aleena Gibson are proud to announce the release of Kaipa's 15th studio album Sommargryningsljus (Summer Dawn Light). The dawn theme has always been close to Hans Lundin's heart in his songwriting. With the new album he closes the circle and returns to where it all began. Sommargryningsljus will be released via InsideOutMusic June 28th in 2024. The band recently released their second single from the new album called "Revelationview". Speaking of artificial intelligence, Apple this week unveiled a new suite of iPads (just in case you forgot they still make those). The company announced its new iPad Pro will, among other features, run on an AI-powered processing chip. But first, a sales slowdown has hit electric car maker Tesla pretty hard of late. Now, the tech news site Electrek reports there’s been another wave of layoffs this week, directly affecting the company’s software, service and engineering departments. It also follows last week’s mass layoff of Tesla’s entire supercharger unit. The Himalayas is a mountain range in Asia that is home to 9 out of 10 of the world's highest peaks, including Mount Everest. But, while many recognize this area for its dangerously difficult and high altitude mountaineering - we speak with two travelers; Chris and Vidya, who share their experiences traversing some of the most dynamic topography on this planet while revealing the unique and intrinsic beauty this landscape has to offer. Although their trips were taken separately and at different seasons, the commonalities between the two distinct adventures cannot be ignored showcasing that the Himalayas is a destination for all, not just the ultra fit.

Is your company good at customer success and retention? Chances are that you could be better. For most businesses with a recurring revenue model, customer churn is a very costly affair. Whenever a customer leaves, you lose out on recurring revenue, forgo the opportunity of expansion (cross sell) revenue and have to pay for another round of acquisition costs to cover the loss. In my personal experience, customer retention is both art and science. Machine learning and other data science techniques can be used to identify customers who are likely to churn, but it is equally important to craft meaningful and delightful interactions throughout the customer lifecycle. So, what's required to become a lean, mean retention machine? In this episode of Leaders of Analytics, I speak to Sami Kaipa to learn the best practices of data-driven customer retention. Sami is an experienced technology executive, serial entrepreneur and start-up advisor. He is co-founder of Tingono, an AI-driven customer retention platform. Listen to this episode as we discuss: Sami's journey as an entrepreneur and corporate technology executive The core elements of customer success and retention that every business should master A deep dive into the concepts of customer retention, expansion and NRR The economics of customer retention and expansion How data science and machine learning can help with retention, and much more.
