Thank goodness the big guy turned up today, after the disaster that was yesterday. The Ox needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. Is his apology heartfelt enough? You be the judge. But on with the show.Ox tells us about some contraband that has been smuggled into his rehab centre. It's unsurprising, albeit entertaining. Marko claims that everyone is slightly sex addicted. Ox has a different view and explains it, after asking Marko about his 'max number' in a day. Horrifying. On his day off yesterday, Ox went to get his passport redone, and is annoyed that you are not allowed to smile. Marko talks about his wife Trish in her drivers license photo when they first met, and nearly gets in massive trouble....he just manages to dig himself out of it. Marko then tells a story about how his relationship was nearly all over due to a misunderstanding over her preferred brand of milk!But....Marko has come in fired up. You may recall his pride on his nature strip a week or two ago (revisit here), well there has been an incident on the nature strip. And it's significant. Marko says that the offender will be hunted down, he is on the warpath. The Ox has a confession. He had gone cold turkey on Twisties, but he has had a relapse and has eaten a half a party bag of Twisties. He then moves on to asking Marko's advice on a mate of his who is 48 and going out with a 23-year old. Is the age gap too much. But hold that story, because Ross the Miner calls on the hotline - he was going to call through a couple of weeks ago, and didn't...he's a couple of weeks late, but that doesn't stop him lining up The Ox for being a day late. Ross has a story about his betting win as a teenager, and a story about dobbing in bad drivers. After we chat to Ross, we get back to Ox's mates issue , and the question he has for Marko about age differences in relationships. But before we resolve it, Marko has forgotten to put his phone on mute, his phone rings and he answers it - it's his mate James who worked with radio legend Alan Jones, and now works with the Sydney breakfast superstar Ben Fordham. James is calling in to get Marko's advice on a relationship issue with a friend of his. Ox chips in with some advice on how to deal with the specific issue being raised. Finally back to Ox's mates issue, which Marko gives his advice on. And the Ox tells a very funny story about his grandfather and a massive age difference issue.Feedback this week is fun. Lots of comments, keep them coming, we love it. There's a brief argument about whether Ox has told his DJ Generic/Taylor Swift story before. Ox says no, Third Man says yes. Plenty of feedback on Marko revealing his crush on Tatum O'Neal. Marko tries to defend Ranga Roundup from Summer Heights High.Ox is unhappy that the Talk Birdie To Me podcast drops the day before Couple of Blokes.Follow a Couple of Blokes and get involved with the show on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok, or send a voicemail to Ox and Marko here. Falling into advertising photography was a happy accident according to today's guest - a career that has incredible high's but hasn't always been easy. John Tsiavis has always had creativity in his world and found his flair at the intersection of advertising, photography, and directing. His break came at the age of 20 after producer Jane Scott contacted RMIT looking for someone to shoot stills for the Australian feature film Head On. He went on to work in the entertainment industry creating images for film such as Chopper (for anyone that can recall that image of Eric Bana that is John's work), Ned Kelly and he also worked on television series including The Secret Life of Us and Summer Heights High. His work is fine art meeting commerciality - and it's by holding onto a philosophy of shooting for ‘him' that his style was created. Along the way John has learnt the value of treating people well; connection is a key theme. Within this conversation John talks about some of the images that have stretched him - including a striking portrait of actor Jackie Weaver. You'll see these over on instagram @alihill or by following the links in the show notes to John's work. John also shares his latest endeavour directing a series called 'A QUIET ROAR' - showcasing the stories and campaigns of young activists advocating for social, political, and economic change. A project that's impacting him deeply. This is a personal, real and insight conversation about creativity, art, and the importance of deep connection with John Tsiavis.

We spent a lot of time talking on the last episode about documentaries, and you should definitely go check that out if you missed it, especially to catch the interview with Good Night Oppy director Ryan White. We kick off the show with an update on our captain, Kate. She's isolating with Covid. Our fabulous friend Ricki-Lee has stepped up to keep her seat warm for the week. Joel is also broadcasting from Adelaide for the Fringe Festival (you can grab tickets to see him: https://bit.ly/3w4AbFJ) We talk about the big kiss between Grant Denyer and Ben Fordham on the Flood appeal telethon and ask which two celebs would you like to see kiss (ya big perve)? We open up the Mailbag and we're told of the likeness between Mr G from Summer Heights High and a one Mr Joel Creasey. Then we talk about Bogan names and Sara-Lee's carrot cake. We cover some Rebel Wilson and Harry Styles news in the Glossy's. Then Ricki-Lee tells us about a Champagne experience that went wrong. Did you hurt yourself celebrating? We play Get Your Cart On. Then we double down on the Sara Lee chat from earlier and Joel suggests that strawberries and balsamic glaze is a real thing that people enjoy. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
In this week's episode the girls cover the Booktok famous, Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. We journey through Evelyn's life discussing her (mostly trash) husbands; and of course the love of her life, Celia. Hosts Briony, Georgia, Ellie and Claire get emotional with their discussion on the representation of bisexuality; but they also keep it light with renditions of a Jojo classic, and Summer Heights High reference. Pinned down by gunfire in Afghanistan watching Summer Heights High on a laptop on the floor. This and other stories from Geoff, who talks about his international development and humanitarian assistance work in 'the most messed up places in the world'. Geoff also talks about his recent experience of adjusting to 'civilian' life' as an American living in Australia. The talk then moves to his use of 'Bolivian products' and overcoming addiction. All set against a soundscape of Australian summer cicadas and the plaintiff meows of Chutney the cat (brother of Paul's cat, Kitty).
