This week on Purple Political Breakdown Ohio Edition, Radell Lewis follows the money and the power across Ohio politics and keeps circling one question: who is Ohio's government actually working for? Radell opens with the biggest and newest story, the FBI search of the Cleveland offices of the Ohio Organizing Collaborative, a progressive group that registers voters, and why the timing and the target deserve a hard, skeptical look. He revisits the FirstEnergy corruption scandal as the real, provable Ohio fraud story, then breaks down a busy week at the Statehouse: the two voter ID measures (Senate Joint Resolution 10, the constitutional amendment headed for the November ballot, and House Bill 472, the absentee photo ID copy requirement now sitting on the governor's desk), the data center tax break that lawmakers promised to end and then quietly kept, the Medicaid anti-fraud bill, and the 3.7 billion dollar capital budget. Then it is the races. The Senate fight between Sherrod Brown and Jon Husted, including the dueling Epstein attack ads and what is actually true about the Wexner donations, Husted's vote on Trump's anti-weaponization fund, and the latest polling that pushed Cook Political Report to move the seat to toss-up. The governor's race between Amy Acton and Vivek Ramaswamy, where Radell digs into Ramaswamy's tax plan, the independent cost estimates, and his own financial disclosure. And a full District Watch on Ohio's 4th and 5th, where Radell lays out exactly what Jim Jordan and Bob Latta stand for and what their challengers, Joshua Kolasinski and Brian Shaver, are offering instead. County of the Week is Butler County. Radell shares who he is voting for and why, makes the case for showing up even in deep red districts, and keeps it where he always does: political solutions without political bias, building a better Ohio on the way to a better America. The Unbearable Lightness of Being varoluşun ağırlığıyla hafifliği arasında salınırken, The Deer Hunter savaşın insan ruhunda açtığı yaraları gözler önüne seriyor.

Palantir CEO goon admits his products target women. Melanoma celebrates "we men" at Women's History Month event in the Whor, er, White House. Marcus Whorelius complains that he can't tell women they're beautiful at the same ceremony. Nothing like hearing a pedophile complain about his own misogyny. FockSnooz's Howie Kurtz thinks Iran is planting "land mines" in the Gulf of Hormuz. You can't make this stuff up. Hey! This is a big deal! Two supporters of The H.O.R.N. have put up matching offers that will get us out of the ditch. $630 remain. Every dollar you give at https://HeadOn.Live gets doubled up to $630. Collision as courtship. Self-destruction as intimacy. Fatih Akın's Head-On (2004) opens with two suicide attempts and spirals into a sham marriage between Cahit (Birol Ünel) and Sibel (Sibel Kekilli), German Turks who weaponize matrimony to escape themselves. What begins as a performance of tradition mutates into volatile love, violence, prison, exile, and a reunion that refuses catharsis.Keith Gordon and Rahne Alexander join Mike to unpack Akın's fusion of Sirkian melodrama, Fassbinder fatalism, and arabesk despair. Is this a tragic romance, a critique of identity politics, or a brutal study of freedom curdling into nihilism? No easy redemption. No national reconciliation. Just survival.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-projection-booth-podcast--5513239/support.Become a supporter of The Projection Booth at http://www.patreon.com/projectionbooth

SEASON 2 - EPISODE 178 - Fatih Akin - Writer / Director In this extended episode of the Team Deakins Podcast, we speak with writer and director Fatih Akin (AMRUM, IN THE FADE, HEAD-ON). Born in Hamburg, Fatih wrote his first script at 18 during religion lessons, and after selling the screenplay a year later, he's been writing, directing, and producing films ever since. In addition to discussing his process as a filmmaker, we also learn what it's like to make movies within the German system. During our conversation about THE EDGE OF HEAVEN, Fatih reveals the extensive restructuring of the film's story in the edit, and while discussing IN THE FADE, Fatih reflects on the events that led to casting Diane Kruger in the film's lead role. Fatih's latest film, AMRUM, is based on the childhood memories of late director Hark Bohm, and we learn how Hark not only inspired Fatih to make movies in his hometown but also convinced him he was the right person to tell a story about the end of the Third Reich, set on a remote German island. Plus, Fatih reveals the influence of Bruce Lee's films and martial arts philosophy on his work. - Recommended Viewing: AMRUM, IN THE FADE, THE EDGE OF HEAVEN - This episode is sponsored by Picture Shop & Aputure
