Afsnittet handler om historierne Darkrose And Diamond, The Bones of the Earth og On the High Marsh.
Til næste gang læser vi de tre næste historier i samlingen; Darkrose And Diamond, The Bones of the Earth og On the High Marsh.

This week in our Chat Returns miniseries, we are thrilled to speak with one of the leading characters of the Ghibliotheque story so far... Studio Ghibli's long-serving producer, enabler, genius-herder and former President, Toshio Suzuki. Suzuki has played a key role in every Studio Ghibli film to date, and has had significant influence on the careers of all Ghibli's filmmakers, not least Goro Miyazaki, who was tapped to direct Tales From Earthsea by Suzuki. As discussed on our previous episode, Goro Miyazaki describes Suzuki as the 'dark wizard' behind Ghibli, and his mark is still seen even today, on the new release Earwig and the Witch - which is screening in UK cinemas now.Keep an eye out for weekly episodes in our Chat Returns miniseries - featuring conversations with filmmakers, writers, and animators who have either worked directly with Ghibli, or have been heavily inspired by them - over the next couple of months. Our book, Ghibliotheque - The Unofficial Guide to Studio Ghibli, will be on sale from all good bookshops in the UK from 2nd September, and is available for preorder now.Get in touch with Ghibliotheque at ghibli@littledotstudios.com or follow us on Twitter:@ghibliotheque@MichaelJLeader - Michael@jakehcunningham - Jake@_stephwatts - StephProduced by Michael Leader, Jake Cunningham, Harold McShiel and Steph Watts. The only movie in the Studio Ghibli canon to claim rights to a rotten score on rottentomatoes.com, Tales From Earthsea is a fantasy epic with a cult following. So, we're the critics right? This week was a fascinating analysis of one of the greatest studios in animated film history, as well as an in depth look at how a film can still flounder with Willem Dafoe as the leading villain.

A follow-up to one of Ghibli's most controversial releases, From Up On Poppy Hill was director Goro Miyazaki's second crack at the whip after his debut, Tales From Earthsea. But Poppy Hill is a very different proposition: a nostalgic, wholesome, period-set romance that harks back to Ghibli gems Only Yesterday and Whisper Of The Heart. Does he find firmer footing as a filmmaker this time around?Follow Ghibliotheque on Twitter:@ghibliotheque@MichaelJLeader – Michael@jakehcunningham – JakeProduced by Michael Leader, Jake Cunningham, Harold McShiel and Steph Watts. This week, Michael & Jake tackle the controversial Ursula K. Le Guin adaptation Tales From Earthsea, the directorial debut from Goro Miyazaki, son of Studio Ghibli legend Hayao Miyazaki. Le Guin once said that only Miyazaki could do her epic fantasy series justice on the big screen - but little did she know that the task would fall to Goro, who had no prior animation, filmmaking or directing experience. He also had no support from his ever-aloof dad, and, on release, received little encouragement from critics and fans alike. How does this inauspicious debut play today?Show notes:Read Goro Miyazaki’s blog, ‘Zero Marks as a Father, Full Marks as a Director’ -http://www.nausicaa.net/miyazaki/earthsea/blog/blog39.htmlRead Ursula K Le Guin’s blog, ‘Gedo Senki, a first response’ -http://www.ursulakleguin.com/GedoSenkiResponse.htmlFollow Michael and Jake on Twitter:@MichaelJLeader – Michael@jakehcunningham – JakeProduced by Michael Leader, Jake Cunningham, Harold McShiel and Steph WattsEditing by Lister Rossell See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

The 16th of our Ghibli Knerd bite series we discuss Tales from Earthsea. Hosts: Nick Wyman and Tyler Ray.
Hey, friends! It's time for a brand-new episode of Mousterpiece Cinema, and this week, Josh and Scott are headed to a world of fantasy, wizards, and dragons: Earthsea. Specifically, we're talking about the 2006 Studio Ghibli film Tales from Earthsea on this episode, and we're trying to figure out how the heck a movie with dragons fighting each other and one of the lead characters killing his father in the opening section could be this boring. Your hosts are joined by Daniel Thomas MacInnes of Ghibli Blog to talk about the intense family drama that fueled the making of this not-so-loved Ghibli film, whether or not the movie has some secret or hidden charms, and more. Hop on your nearest dragon and head over to Earthsea with us!

This month we couldn't resist taking a bite out of the recent Netflix phenomenon, DEVILMAN Crybaby. We talk about our personal reactions, the show's surprisingly optimistic thesis, horniness, queer elements, and why we're glad we followed the hype down this incredible rabbit hole of apocalypse and love. On the literary side, we also dive into the show’s relation to Satyr Plays in Greek Tragedy and its use of Greek Chorus through Wamu’s hip-hop crew. SPOILER WARNINGS for all of Devilman Crybaby. Content Warning for discussions of the show's treatment of violence and sexual assault. Intro: Devilman no Uta / AVU-chan by アヴちゃん Outtro: Konyadake by Takkyu and Tavito Link to the interview we referenced: https://blog.sakugabooru.com/2018/01/08/devilman-crybaby-interview-with-director-masaaki-yuasa/ Next month we will be back on schedule releasing our episode on Goro Miyazaki’s Tales From Earthsea.
