Another Eastern Lariat awaits you with almost two hours full of news, discussions and opinionated takes on the world of japanese pro wrestling. After a brief talk about Jun Akiyama vs. Bryan Danielson,  STRIGGA & Dylan present Wrestle Universe's latest upgrades and price modeling before they go to the much-anticipated and very well received debut of Kasei Takechi. Following some quick notes on Pro Wrestling NOAH & REALZERO1 the next big talking point is All Japan and the Excite series with some questions looming above the promotion and it's direction towards the Champion Carnival. Last and maybe least(?) STRIGGA & Dylan take about an hour to break down the atrocious week in Sapporo with some head scratching title changes and decisions that washed away lots of excitement they had built just two weeks before. While doing so, the Eastern Lariat crew also breaks down the roster in an attempt to figure out who could be trusted with the World Title right now.

A special welcome to those of you listening on OccupyProWrestling.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: WWE) Tonight's NXT will have the first fallout from TakeOver 36… PLUS, the finals of the NXT Breakout Tournament: Carmelo Hayes vs. Odyssey Jones...Timothy Thatcher vs. Ridge Holland...and Hit Row vs. Legado Del Fantasma. Last night's Raw put a number of storylines into motion...leading to three pretty big matches being announced for next week. The Miz ambushed John Morrison, putting an end to their partnership. Those two men will meet in a match on next week's Raw. The breakup went down after Xavier Woods beat Miz. Morrison tried to spray Woods with a drip-stick...but got Miz instead. Doudrop formally cut ties with Eva Marie - although she's keeping the name for some reason. Eva attacked Doudrop backstage to seal the split. Those two are also set for a match on next week's Raw. Last night's show opened with the NEW United States Champion Damian Priest confronting WWE Champion Bobby Lashley. That eventually led to Priest & Drew McIntyre taking on Lashley & Sheamus. Lashley walked out on his partner...and Sheamus was pinned after a Claymore from McIntyre. So, Lashley will face Sheamus in a non-title match on next week's Raw. The celebration for the NEW Raw Women's Champion Charlotte Flair was interrupted by Alexa Bliss...but she only wanted to say “Hi”. As for the former champ, Nikki A.S.H. tagged with Rhea Ripley and beat Nia Jax & Shayna Baszler. Ripley pinned Baszler with the Riptide. Riddle pinned AJ Styles with Bro Derek to win last night's main event. Also, Karrion Kross - with some snazzy new entrance gear - beat Ricochet. Some details are emerging about the frustrating problems for the live fans in attendance at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for SummerSlam. At one point during the show, the stadium's cashless payment system went down, leaving fans unable to buy ANY concessions. This was part of a nationwide outage to the credit card processor TSYS. PetCo Park, the home of the San Diego Padres, was also affected. (STINGER: AEW) An indoor mask mandate will be in effect for all three shows AEW is running at the Now Arena outside Chicago...culminating in the All Out pay per view. The order covering all of Cook County, Illinois went into effect on Monday...in response to an increase in COVID-19 cases. Dissension in Dark Order! Colt Cabana, Alan “5” Angels & Evil Uno lost to Death Triangle in the main event of last night's AEW Dark: Elevation. A reversal late in the match led to Uno delivering a forearm strike to Angels...and Angels later took the pin. After the match, Uno was clearly upset at Angels. Cabana and the rest of Dark Order had to step in to cool off the situation. No rest for Angels. He's back in action TONIGHT on Dark...against Dante Martin. Also on tonight's Dark…Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta vs. Matt Hardy & TH2. Cassidy, Taylor & Yuta beat TH2 & The Blade on last night's Elevation. Cassidy pinned The Blade. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan is running four straight days at Korakuen Hall starting Tuesday. IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Shingo Takagi and BUSHI are NOT on any of the cards after they tested positive for COVID-19 last week. Neither are six other wrestlers pulled from shows last week due to their contact with Takagi and BUSHI: Tetsuya Naito, SANADA, EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, Gedo, and Dick Togo. This week's shows will feature the debuts of two NEW Young Lions. Kosei Fujita and Ryohei Oiwa. They'll face one another on all four shows this week. (STINGER: ROH) Two women are now in the semifinals of Ring Of Honor's women's title tournament. On this past weekend's ROH TV, Rok-C beat Quinn McKay...and Miranda Alize beat Nicole Savoy. The main event saw DEMONIC Flamita beat Rey Horus in a No Disqualification Match. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Tuesday, August 24. (STINGER: WWE) Just days before TakeOver 36 on Sunday...NXT is rolling out a pair of title matches on tonight's show. Kushida defends his cruiserweight championship against Roderick Strong. Plus, MSK put the NXT Tag Titles on the line against Imperium's Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner. Also tonight, the second semifinal match in the NXT Breakout Tournament: Duke Hudson vs. Carmelo Hayes. RKBro is BACK! And they'll challenge AJ Styles & Omos for the Raw Tag Titles at SummerSlam. Riddle rescued Orton from a beating at the hands of Omos. Orton declared he respects Riddle and the two shook hands. Earlier, Styles pinned Riddle with the Styles Clash. Also added to SummerSlam, Alexa Bliss vs. Eva Marie. Drew McIntyre beat Veer & Shanky in a 2-on-1 match, pinning Shanky with a Claymore. That means Veer & Shanky will be banned from ringside for McIntyre's match against Jinder Mahal at SummerSlam. Rhea Ripley pinned Raw Women's Champion Nikki ASH with the Riptide in a non-title match. After the match, Nikki went after Charlotte Flair, who was sitting in on commentary. That led to a tag team main event, where Charlotte & Nia Jax beat Nikki & Rhea. Charlotte pinned Rhea. Damian Priest pinned The Miz with a Brogue Kick - right in front of United States Champion Sheamus, who was on commentary at the time. John Morrison walked out on Miz during the match. Earlier, he learned Miz had been medically cleared for WEEKS before he finally got out his wheelchair last Monday. Mansoor got an outside assist from Mustafa Ali and pinned Mace. NXT Champion Karrion Kross quickly submitted Jeff Hardy with the Kross Jacket in a non-title match. Survivor Series is set for Sunday, November 21st at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark has a big 8-Man Tag - Jurassic Express and the Varsity Blonds teaming up against The Wingmen. Also tonight, the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian vs. Brandon Cutler...Matt Hardy vs. Wheeler Yuta. Some notable names will make their AEW debuts. Lee Moriarty goes up against Dante Martin...and Masha Slamovich faces Penelope Ford. Plus, Kiera Hogan gets another look against Kris Statlander. Hogan made her AEW debut on last night's Elevation...with a loss to Hikaru Shida. Also on last night's show...Diamante pinned Julia Hart after she misdirected the referee, pulled a chain out of a corner pad and then hit Julia with it. Diamante continued to beatdown after the match until Big Swole ran in for the rescue. Joey Janela used a handful of tights to roll up and pin Alan “5” Angels...and the Lucha Brothers beat The Hybrid2. New names announced for the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. The AEW tandem of Red Velvet & KiLynn King will be in the NWA Women's Tag Team Title tournament. Plus, Thunder Kitty will be in the Invitational Cup battle royale. (STINGER: ROH) On this past weekend's Ring Of Honor TV...Max The Impaler beat Hollidead in a first-round match in the women's title tournament. Also, Flip Gordon pinned Homicide to win a 10-Man “All-Stars vs. Champions” Tag Team main event. (STINGER: New Japan) COVID-19 concerns are leading to more changes for New Japan. This all started over the weekend, when IWGP World Heavyweight Champ Shingo Takagi and BUSHI were found to have fevers. The results of PCR tests still aren't back. So, Shingo and BUSHI are off of Tuesday's show...along with Testsuya Naito, SANADA, Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and Gedo. The winner of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League will be decided on Tuesday's show. First, Junior Heavyweight Champ Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato. Eagles & Tiger Mask are still alive in the tournament but they need to win and get some help. The main event has the Junior Tag Champs Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. If the Bullet Club tandem wins they take the tournament. If Despy & Kanemaru win, we could have a three-way tiebreaker to sort out. Getting back to Togo & Gedo, their absence from Monday's show means they'll miss their final Super Junior Tag League match. Their opponents, Roppongi 3K, dissolved as a team. So, New Japan is declaring the match a double forfeit - with neither team receiving any points. The breakup of Roppongi 3K was a violent one. SHO hung YOH out to dry during their match Monday against Despy & Kanemaru. YOH eventually succumbed to the numbers. After the match, SHO made his intentions clear and attacked YOH. (STINGER: WWE) It sounds like there is some validity to reports over the weekend of possible changes tp WWE's NXT brand and developmental system. The reports surfaced following the releases of thirteen performers last Friday. One of those released wrestlers posted a statement over the weekend...and alluded to what's happening behind the scenes. Anthony Henry - who wrestled as Asher Hale in WWE - wrote, “There is a shift happening, within the company, and I no longer fit what they are looking for.” Henry added that he was wrestling through an injury - two herniated disks - during most of his 6-month run in WWE. Another of those wrestlers released Friday, Bronson Reed, posted a message for his fans on social media Sunday night. The Australian super-heavyweight talked about his reaction to being let go. (Reed WWE Release Reax) That clip from the video posted to Bronson Reed's Twitter. As of Sunday night, no matches are announced for tonight's Raw...but we are being promised separate appearances by WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Charlotte Flair. John Cena is being advertised for live fans tonight in Orlando, but there's guarantee he'll appear while Raw is on the air. (STINGER: New Japan) There are three unbeaten teams...and three winless teams...after the first weekend of New Japan's Super Junior Tag League. Two of the unbeatens go head-to-head on Monday's show...when Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask face El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru. Also on Monday's show, two teams look for their first win in the tournament...when Ryusuke Taguchi & Master Wato go up against SHO & YOH. Plus, an ALL Bullet Club showdown, the unbeaten team of Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo vs. the winless pairing of Gedo & Dick Togo Tuesday's Summer Struggle show will provide a break from the Super Junior Tag League...for a main event NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Title Match. Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii & YOSHI-HASHI defend against Tetsuya Naito, SANADA & BUSHI. New Japan announced over the weekend that all of its wrestlers and staff residing in Japan have now received both doses of a COVID-19 vaccine. A new match announced for Resurgence in Los Angeles coming up on Saturday. It's 10-man tag. Strong Openweight Champ FILTHY Tom Lawlor, JR Kratos, Jorel Nelson, Royce Isaacs & Danny Limelight vs. Lio Rush, Brody King, Chris Dickinson, Fred Yehi & Yuya Uemura. Uemura was last seen wrestling his final match as a Young Lion in Japan last weekend...as he is now getting ready to begin his excursion. A title change in Dragon Gate. SB KENTo took the Open the Brave Gate Title from Kagetora on Sunday. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark: Elevation has at least five matches announced, including the Lucha Brothers vs. Matt & Mike Sydal...and Brian Cage vs. Rickey Shane Page. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: WWE) WWE reportedly released at least a dozen wrestlers on Friday. Most of them were working on NXT and 205 Live. Perhaps the most surprising name is Bronson Reed. He was the NXT North American Champion just a couple months ago. He also got a look recently on Main Event. Other confirmed cuts: Jake Atlas… Kona Reeves... Anthony Henry, who signed with WWE back in January, and was wrestling under the name Asher Hale...Alex Zayne, who was wrestling under the name Ari Sterling. He signed with the company late last year... and Denzel Dejournette, who was recently using the ring name Desmond Troy. More names were reported by Fightful and PWInsider: Bobby Fish… Mercedes Martinez… Tyler Rust, who was part of the new Diamond Mine faction on NXT...and had just signed with WWE last December. Former NXT North American Champion Leon Ruff, who won the title shortly after he signed with WWE last summer… Giant Zanjeer… Zechariah Smith... AND referee Stephon Smith. We got two new matches officially announced for SummerSlam during Friday night's SmackDown. Bianca Belair will defend the SmackDown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks. Belair beat Zelina Vega in a non-title match on SmackDown. Also added to SummerSlam, Edge vs. Seth Rollins. Finn Balor is not over last week's contract signing...and the Universal Title match he missed out on when Baron Corbin interrupted the ceremony...and then, John Cena swooped in to sign the contract himself. Balor steamrolled Corbin on Friday night. After the match, Balor said he still wants his title shot and he'll go through Cena to get it. That drew out Roman Reigns...and The Usos. Balor got the better of them for a bit, but eventually succumbed to the numbers game. KING Nakamura beat Intercontinental Champ Apollo Crews via disqualification...after Commander Azeez got involved. This was a non-title match, but this appears to put Nakamura in line for a title shot. Tegan Nox pinned one half of the WWE Women's Tag Champs Tamina. Nox rolled up Tamina after she was distracted by Shotzi firing a shot from her tank at ringside. One half of the SmackDown Tag Champs Jey Uso beat Dominik Mysterio. The Street Profits returned to action with a win over Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan's Super Junior Tag League kicks off Saturday with the first three matches at the Summer Struggle show at Korakuen Hall. It's a FREE show on New Japan World. The tournament continues on Sunday...with three more matches: Master Wato & Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Taiji Ishimori & El Phantasmo...Tiger Mask & Robbie Eagles vs Roppongi 3K...and El Desperado & Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Dick Togo & Gedo. Team Filthy appeared to gain some extra manpower at the end of last night's New Japan Strong. Team Filthy's Danny Limelight & JR Kratos beat the West Coast Wrecking Crew - Jorel Nelson & Royce Isaacs - in the main event. The two sides were ready to keep going at it after the match, but FILTHY Tom Lawlor himself came to the ring to play peacemaker...and Nelson & Isaacs left the ring with Team Filthy. Pro-Wrestling NOAH's YO-HEY is out of action after a PCR test came back positive for the coronavirus. Five other wrestlers and a referee were also pulled from Friday's show due to contact with YO-HEY. Several upcoming shows in Australia are canceled or postponed due to a new 7-day lockdown in the country over COVID-19 concerns. An extra episode of NWA Powerrr on Friday produced a new champion. Tyrus took the NWA TV Title from Da Pope. Lady Frost is now added to the Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. She'll be part of a battle royal...where the winner gets a shot at the NWA Women's Title the following day at the NWA's 73rd Anniversary pay per view. (STINGER: AEW) AEW released a bonus episode of Dark Friday night. Eleven matches packed into this one. Billy & Colten Gunn beat The Factory's Nick Comoroto & Aaron Solo. Billy grabbed a handful of Solo's tights as he rolled him up for the pin. Major League Wrestling's TV tapings on November 6th, which were originally set to be held in Chicago..are being moved to Philadelphi's 2300 Arena. Germany's WXW promotion is holding its 20th Anniversary show on Saturday, with Axel Tischer - the former Alexander Wolfe - in the main event. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Saturday, August 7. One of pro wrestling's most respected in-ring performers...has died. Bobby Eaton was a wrestler's wrestler - admired by his peers for his skill inside the squared circle...and for his kind nature away from the ring. Eaton is recognized as one of the greatest tag team wrestlers of all time. His run as part of the original Midnight Express is legendary. Eaton's family announced he passed away on Wednesday night. Bobby Eaton was 62. (STINGER: WWE) Another title match is set for SummerSlam. The Usos will defend the SmackDown Tag Titles against the former champs, Rey & Dominik Mysterio. On Thursday's NXT UK…A-Kid beat Jordan Devlin in a 30-minute Iron Man Match...winning two falls to one. A-Kid took the lead with a submission on Devlin with about 90 seconds left...and then held on for the victory. Also on Thursday's show, Blair Davenport beat Xia Brookside. An 8-man tournament will decide the new #1 contender for the Heritage Cup Championship currently held by Tyler Bate. That begins next week with a first round match between Mark Andrews and Noam Dar. As of Thursday night, there's essentially nothing announced for tonight's SmackDown. (STINGER: Impact) The next Impact Plus exclusive, Emergence, is now being promoted for Friday, August 20th. Impact has promised that Kenny Omega will defend the Impact World Title on that show. Two more title matches for Emergence were made official on last night's Impact. Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Title against Jake Something, who won a 4-Way #1 Contender Match last night. The Impact Tag Titles will be on the line in a 3-Way. The Good Brothers defend against Violent by Design and Willie Mack & Rich Swann. The Good Brothers and Omega were beaten in last night's main event...by the team of Sami Callihan, Eddie Edwards and the ELITE HUNTER Frankie Kazarian. Edwards pinned Karl Anderson with the Boston Knee Party. W. Morrissey showed up and laid out Edwards after the match. Bullet Club has a new member...and it's Chris Bey. Jay White formally welcomed him into the group after Bey pinned Juice Robinson with the Art Of Finesse on last night's Impact. It appears last night was the end of Fire n' Flava. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz lost to Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering. After the match, the debuting Savannah Evans came out to beat up Hogan while Steelz just watched. Knockouts Champ Deonna Purrazzo is now set to defend her title against Melina at the NWA's Empowerrr pay per view on August 28th. (STINGER: ROH) The Ring Of Honor women's title tournament rolls on this weekend on ROH TV...with two more first-round matches: Quinn McKay vs. Mandy Leon...and Trish Adora vs. Marti Belle. Also, ROH World Champion Bandido teams up with Rey Horus to face Violence Unlimited's Brody King & Chris Dickinson. (STINGER: New Japan) Tonight's New Japan Strong has the West Coast Wrecking Crew - Royce Isaacs & Jorel Nelson - vs. Team Filthy's Danny Limelight & JR Kratos. Plus, Fred Rosser & Rocky Romero vs. the LA Dojo team of Ren Narita & Alex Coughlin. Back in Japan, the Summer Struggle tour resumes on Saturday...with the start of the Super Junior Tag League tournament.
