Christians are baptized “in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” not the “names” of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Catechism explains this distinction by introducing us to the “central mystery of Christian faith and life”: the Trinity. Fr. Mike slows us down to meditate on what God reveals to us concerning his inner life, the very thing that “many prophets and righteous people longed to see… [and] hear.” Today's readings are Catechism paragraphs 232-237. This episode is the fourth in our series on the mystical union. Here, I give an overview of the medieval mystical book which influenced Luther, titled the Theologia Germanica.

It's the Cross, Stupid. Is there one primordial theology which is the true theology?
In the third part of our series on ancient mystery cults, we sat down to talk about the theologia and liturgy of the ancient Mediterranean mystery cults, and then we discussed the understanding of the cults through three lenses: myth, nature allegory, and metaphysics. Finally, we introduce the secretive Cult of Mithras and its anatomy. Today Joe George continues with part three of a series on our core beliefs and principles. Part one was on truth and logic, but without any reference to Scripture. Part two (by Philip Snell) was on God and Scripture. In today's message, Joe explains how mankind spoiled God's perfect creation, and why, if God is good, does he allow evil?

Joe George begins a five-part series on Theology and Apologetics, today laying the groundwork for how we can prove, using principles of logic, such things as the existence of God, and the supernatural origin of scripture. This is also excellent background for Christian Apologetics, because it allows disciples to offer proof of their beliefs to others.

We FINALLY close out The Cross of Reality, hitting the 12 main points that author Gaylon Barker points out in Bonhoeffer's theology of the cross. Osho says of these letters by Dionysius, first bishop of Athens, to his disciple Timothy: "His whole book is written with a disguise, as if it is a treatise on theology; mysticism is just somewhere by the side, secondary, not primary. Hence the name Theologica Mystica - as if mysticism is only a consequence of getting deep into the world of theology. Just the reverse is the case."

Prof. Wilson Poon: Christ and Creation Conference
The only means by which God offers salvation to sinful and broken humanity was a blood stained, first century Roman cross.
The cross of Christ is not only the fulfillment of the Old Testament sacrificial system, but it is the sacrifice made once and for all, in a specific moment in time for all time.
The Protestant Reformer Martin Luther asked how can God best be understood. After diligently searching the Scriptures, he came to the conclusion that God can best be seen through the sufferings of Christ on the cross.
