In this episode, I will share with you lessons on delegating and outsourcing. I am sure this will resonate with most of us, who at some point in our lives or perhaps still are thinking that they are the only ones who can best do the job. It can also come from a place of lack and outsourcing can cost a lot of money. As I move into a new era in my life, I realized that if I want to live my dreams awake, I need to have support that will allow my work to be easy. It is my hope that through this episode you can have your big leap in making your life easier. REMEMBER - "You can't do it all on your own." HIGHLIGHTS OF WHAT WE COVER DURING THIS EPISODE: Introduction of the series of short episodes What can delegation do to make your life easier? Patricia intends to do some episodes about life-changing books that have had a profound influence on her life. Outsourcing lessons to improve family time. Giving other people the opportunity to shine and be your support mechanism. Patricia and Ken's experience in getting help. "There was also a lot of fear around spending money at that time because I was in a very different situation than I am now." "You may think that delegating and getting help, can be in the form of just asking for help, but it is also paying for help or getting something that is going to make your life easier." 6:45 I've spent more time with the old Richard Theta S camera (in the photo) than anything else.
This week I dive into some simple things I stopped doing in my life that have been game changers... It came from the idea that I don't have to give my kids lunch on the weekend (what?!?) I guess I forgot that was an option! Don't worry, I still feed my kids, but I decided to do it differently, and that has made all the difference. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Also would love a rating a review!
I learnt that you can drop your walls instantly if you decide to do so. And the worse thing is always an emotion. Are you brave enough to flip the coin for your chance at pain or gain?

Turns out I've quit a bunch of things in my life. I go through a list… It may inspire you and it may not. As I record this episode I'm burnt on the coaching group I'm in and want to bail. As I'm in a reflective mode I realize how often it's been a springboard to better things. Show Notes: Before I decided “I think I'm done here.” I was gonna do the summit on quitting… I.e. the “It's ok to quit summit”. All the things that I've quit to break through and have new stuff come to me. I've had to quit so many times and the results have been awesome. Here's many of the things I quit. When I was a lad, drinking and drugging.Professional Snowboarding. My business partner and I back in the day “quit” a business, fortuitously we got a cash bonus to quit the business :).I quit DJ'ingMy sales career, which I worked so hard to build. I was a commodities broker for 3-4 years. 2-3 years telecom sales. Mortgages for 15 years.Distracted by the shiny objects…Back to things I have pivoted from… Oh yes, I was a professional gambler, I quit gambling when I was 24 years old ish.The things I have quit that have served me so well to quit. It serves you and then it doesn't. So you've got to pivot from it.The positive coping skills summit is rather benign. I can get my arms around that. Oh yeah I was a gym rat for a while. Although I was lean and not big.Surfing as a coping skill it served me and then it didn't. I've kinda quit that.Same thing with yoga. The hot yoga specifically. The physical aspects of the yoga saved me though! It was so powerful to help me come out of some low grade depression. Hows my breath? That's a great indicator of where I am in the moment. There are seasons for everything. Start podcasting! There are certain art teacherin' truths I used to really cling to...and here's five of them that I've changed my mind about.
Now here's another topic that I'm very excited to share not because these comments are cool or okay to say, but because of the wisdom we can get out of them. Here are the five things that I've heard leaders say that made me really scratch my head. I'm not saying that these leaders or anyone who might've said something demotivating, demoralizing, or just outright dumb are bad leaders. They probably said these out of exasperation or in the heat of the moment without realizing the effect of what they were saying. I'm sharing this today (and probably more in the future) to keep us all aware of how our words can greatly impact our members. So always choose your words wisely.Show notes:[1:37] “We could do $10M in your region, without you there.”[4:29] “The more advertising (lead generation) we do, the less you (team members) work.” [8:35] “If you don't do XYZ, I'm not going to be able to pay my mortgage.” [11:00] “Don't listen to [Name]!”[13:57] “That's the dumbest question I've ever heard.”[16:23] OutroText LEADER to 617-393-5383 to receive The Top 10 Things That The Best Leaders Are Doing Right NowFor questions, suggestions, or speaker inquiries, contact me at john@lauritogroup.com

I record episodes week by week hoping to inspire each of you -- this week I sat back and thought, "how well do my listeners really know me?" I know you all know a lot about me because, well, I'm chatty and I tend to talk about myself on these podcasts--but, do you REALLY know me? My background? My history? Why I am the way I am? As I always say, I'm the "queen of being misunderstood," so in this episode I'm diving into a few more. There are three specific things I feel like I'm very misunderstood about: people think I'm super cool, people think I'm a great at dating, and people think I'm super smart. Okay, these people aren't TOTALLY wrong, but, they're also not TOTALLY right. I don't come from a background of being super cool, dating a ton, or being a genius. I come from a background of being the nerdy kid in class, loving theater, not getting asked to homecoming or prom, and reallllly struggling through the Naval Academy. Life didn't come easy, but that's why I have a lot of lessons to deliver now! Listen in, this is your chance to get to know me better. I want you guys to have a better understanding of ME! Here I am: transparent and #missunderstood. Special thank you to my team at Hatch for producing this episode. Check out USEHATCH.FM for unlimited podcast editing. Love this episode? Heather Jacks has done it all. She's created a new job to work for Howard Shultz, facilitated wine and bourbon tastings, ferried pigs for a guy, lived in the outback, and slept full-time in a bus named Bubba. Also? She writes travel stories for Fodor's and other outlets, while also keeping a blog. ....and she's modeled. ..and she's been a teacher. ...and....the list goes on, but we're excited today to talk to her about how she's found a way to put together diverse skills and barter her way across the USA. Think you don't have enough money to travel? She'll share tricks she's used and stories from the road on today's wide-ranging (to put it mildly) discussion. LOTS of people are having debt forgiven because of COVID-19, but some are in store for a surprise. We'll share who's showing up with their hand out when you write down debt during our headlines segment. Also, the new Social Security cost of living increase has been announced, and....it's not pretty. We'll talk inflation, the stock market, and setting up your investments to win. Of course we'll also throw out the Haven Life line to a lucky listener and leave some time for Doug to share some of his mind-bending trivia. Enjoy!
