Thank you for joining us for Christian Faith Center's Sermon of the week. This message is from our Nampa Location. Pastor Jordan continues his series BEHOLD. The incarnation! God becoming flesh! Such a central and powerful part of our doctrine and beliefs!Today we conclude our series Behold….. With a profound topic I cannot wait to explore! Origin stories!Origin Stories! Everyone has an origin story! It's the story of your beginning! Where you came from. What you went through! Here's a few origin stories you might find interesting:Growing up so poor her family literally made her clothes from potato sacks. She was shuffled around to rural farms and boardinghomes and suffered abuse and teen pregnancy. You might know about her? Her name is Oprah Winfrey.Growing up in a government housing projects watching his father spiral into what he describes as a “broken man” from a hard life. This man says he carry's this weight of his impoverished childhood with him every day. His name is Howard Shultz and he's theCEO of Starbucks.Dropping out of school at age 10 to become an indentured servant to a print maker, this man was 1 of 17 children in his family. Hewould go on to be one of the greatest inventors in history for the era and be known as a founding father of our nation. His name isBenjamin Franklin.Born in a one-roomed weavers cottage in Dunfermline, Scotland. This man emigrated to America with his family when he was 13because of their extreme poverty. His first job in Pennsylvania was as a bobbin boy for $1.20 a week. But, he went on to dominate theUS steel industry, amassing a personal fortune. By his death, he had given away $4.8 billion. Andrew Carnegie (1835 – 1919)This man grew up in the Great Depression of the 1930s, he had to milk the family cow and do numerous odd jobs to help his familysurvive. After the war, he took out a loan to buy a small grocery store. He went on to build this into the giant Walmart supermarketchain, amassing a fortune of over $23 billion. Samuel Walton (1918 – 1992)I love hearing origin stories! But none of these compare to the origin story we are celebrating this week!Christmas is the Origin story of Jesus Christ, The Son of God.His origin story is not at all what we would expect the origin story of Gods Son to be like! But there is much we can glean from it!
At least 112 hungry and desperate Palestinians were killed early Thursday morning trying to get much needed food and medical aid. Some of the dead were gunned down by Israeli troops, others were run over by the aid trucks attempting to flee the scene. In a huge announcement, Starbucks officially announced that it will no longer work to oppose unionization efforts by its employees. Now that nearly 400 Starbucks stores have voted to unionize, and founder and former CEO, Howard Shultz, is no longer running the company, it seems that Starbucks Workers United will now be heading to contract negotiations in good faith. In a joint statement, Starbucks and Workers United said they will, “begin discussions on a foundational framework designed to achieve … collective bargaining agreements for represented stores and partners” Thousands of academic workers are on strike at York University in Toronto. On Thursday, members of other unions across Ontario joined the picket lines in support of their striking brothers and sisters. Last week, the Pennridge School District - the first in the nation to hire the Hillsdale-inspired Vermillion Education to rewrite their social studies and English curriculum through a Christian nationalist lens - officially scrapped the Hillsdale proposed curriculum. An Illinois court has kicked Trump of this year's Republican Primary ballot, all but assuring another round of Supreme Court decisions. The order has been put on hold pending appeal. Early voting has already begun in the state. Mitch McConnell announced he's retiring from Senate leadership after this year's election. Let the all out Senate Republican civil war commence. “Uncommitted” is set to win two delegates from Michigan as the protest over Biden's unwillingness to stop the Israeli government's genocidal war in Gaza. Washington State's largest labor union - the United Food and Commercial Worker - has endorsed “uncommitted” in this year's Democratic Primary. In one of the most brazen statements of late from Big Oil, Exxon scolded the world in a recent interview in Fortune magazine saying that Exxon and other fossil fuel companies are not to blame for the climate crisis. Who is? Everyone else but them it appears. Exxon CEO Darren Woods told the magazine, “the world waited too long” to develop green technologies and that "people who are generating the emissions need to be aware … and pay the price." Who are those people? You guessed it, you and me. Treacherous blizzard is bearing down on the Sierra Nevada mountain range in California. The storm is expected to dump up to 10 feet of snow with winds already peaking at 145 mph. The Smokehouse Creek Fire in Texas has now become the second largest wildfire in U.S. history, burning more than a million acres of land just north of Amarillo - an area larger than the entire state of Rhode Island. Diving into the story, lessons, and greatness of Howard Shultz and how he built Starbucks into an empire from his book: Pour Your Heart Into It-----0:20- Lead with your heartWe have to lead with our hearts. In business, as in life, we each should have an internal compass that guides our decisions, an instinctive understanding of what matters most in this world. For me, it's not profits, or sales, or number of stores, but the passion, commitment, and enthusiasm of a dedicated group of people. It's not about money, it's about pursuing a dream others think you can't achieve and finding a way to give something back, to the employees, to the customers, to the community1:45 - The Power of a Poor ChildhoodFrom my personal experience, I'd say that the more uninspiring your origins, the more likely you are to use your imagination and invent worlds where everything seems possible.3:00 - The Greatness Mindset I wanted to be in charge of my own destiny. It may be a weakness in me: I'm always wondering what'll do next. Enough is never enough.6:45 - Early Starbuck LessonsEvery company must stand for something. Starbucks stood not only for good coffee, but specifically for the dark-roasted flavor profile that the founders were passionate about. That's what differentiated it and made it authentic....You don't just give the customers what they ask for. If you offer them something they're not accustomed to, something so far superior that it takes a while to develop their plates, you can create a sense of discovery and excitement and loyalty that will bond them to you. 15:50 - The RiskThis is my moment. If I don't seize the opportunity, if I don't step out of my comfort zone and risk it all, if I let too much time tick on, my moment will pass. I knew that if I didn't take advantage of this opportunity, I would replay it in my mind for my whole life, wondering: What if? Why didn't I? 19:40 - The Entrepreneur FeelingThere's a fine line between self doubt and self-confidence, and it's even possible to feel both emotions simultaneously. Back then, and often enough today, I could be overwhelmed with insecurities, and at the same time have an abundance of self assurance and faith.24:50- Starbucks Competitive AdvantageOur competitive strategy was to win customers by offering the best coffee and customer service and an inviting atmosphere….We built the Starbucks brand first with our people, not with consumers–the opposite approach from that of the crackers-and-cereal companies. Because we believed the best way to meet and exceed expectations of customers was to hire and train great people. One Final NoteI figure I've had to reinvent myself at least three times. I started off as a dreamer. That was the thirty two year old who knocked on every investor's door in Seattle looking for money to realize his business plan. Then I moved to entrepreneur, first founding Il Giornale and then taking over Starbucks and re-creating it as a fast growth company. Then I had to become a professional manager, as the company grew larger and I needed to delegate more and more decisions. -----Check out my new book Chasing Greatness: Timeless Stories on the Pursuit of Excellence
What do you have in common with Tom Hanks, Meryl Steep, Barbara Corcoran, and Howard Shultz, founder of Starbucks? Before you respond with a resounding, “absolutely nothing, let me ask you a few more questions. Do you ever feel like you don't belong in your job or your position because you are not really qualified? Surely everyone can see that! Do you ever sit in a meeting and wonder “what am I doing here?” – not because you are bored to tears but because you think you are not qualified to be part of this impressive group of people gathered to discuss this important issue or problem? Deep down, do you think it's luck not skill that has gotten you where you are? Well join the club. Lots of other people are feeling the same thing. Why is it so easy to miss the main thing? In February of 2008, an email was leaked from Starbucks headquarters. It was sent from Howard Shultz, who was transitioning back into the CEO role after an eight-year absence, to the current CEO, Jim Donald: “as we prepare for the 2008 strategic planning process, I want to…
Ellen and Tish talk about entrepreneurship this week with Portland, Oregon-based entrepreneur Lori Spencer. Lori created and founded a national beverage brand and helped bring a wave of awareness of chai to the US when she co-founded Oregon Chai; she took the company from a recipe in her co-founder's kitchen all the way to the sale of a national brand while in her 20s. Learn how Lori parlayed that experience into a career in advising many female business founders and who she credits with her strength and grit (as an 8th-generation Oregonian you may have a good guess). Lori shares how she uses her superpowers of community, innovation, and creativity for success and how she pivoted during Covid to reinvent her career in midlife. Things we talked about in this episode: chai tea, founders, Oregon Chai, Oregon, women entrepreneurs, Portland, Girls, Inc., XXcelerate, boards, Justin's nut butter, coffee shops, One Stripe Chai, Freelance Spirits, fractional work, Groundup nut butter, Howard Shultz, Starbucks, entrepreneurs, Covid pivots, and building community. We're going to do a deep dive on Howard Shultz's appearance before Bernie Sanders and the Senate HELP committee and assess his performance, whether or not it was a “win” for Bernie and what it means going forward for both the company and its powerful detractors. We'll be joined by Peter Romeo from Restaurant Business magazine who covered the hearing extensively and get his unique insight on the proceedings. And Colin Larson from the Colorado Restaurant Association joins us to talk about how they were able to not only defeat restrictive scheduling legislation in their own state but almost as importantly, were able to effectively change the conversation around the issue to give a roadmap for victory to industry advocates in other states. We'll discuss those issues and wrap it up with the legislative scorecard.

In this episode, Howard Behar talks about how he helped build the Starbucks Empire with Howard Shultz and Orin Smith. Throughout this talk, he alludes to servant leadership as the key to success in this business venture.Recognizing relationships and people as the ultimate factor in creating a successful business, I learned so much about the human factor of life. Howard wrote 2500 letters every month to employees for birthdays and company anniversaries as a way to foster recognition and community in the company. In addition, he coined the phrase, “the person that sweeps the floor should choose the broom.” Sometimes it's difficult for CEOs to let go of the control of their company, but Howard emphasized giving the people power so they can feel they have a say in the company. This talk was such a humbling conversation as someone who is entering the professional world. Understanding that someone who helped expand from 28 to over 15,000 in 5 continents key to success was relationships was a very important lesson that I and others can benefit from.If you want to hear more about the Starbucks history and their steps to make it to the company it is today, tune in for more!Howards Contact Info:hb@howardbehar.com206-972-7776
The theme for this week is, Pioneer. Should you be a pioneer? Should you pioneer something? Is being a pioneer an opportunity for success? My default answer leading up to the week was, YES - yes, yes, yes. Now my response is both YES & NO. Oddly & coincidently, I listened to two podcasts this week that both spoke on this topic and both had the same message. What was that message? The first podcast wasn't actually a podcast, it was a short video series I watched on a Delta flight with Howard D. Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks. The series is titled, Howard Schultz: Teaches Business Leadership. Each episode is about 10 minutes long, and in my usual fashion, I tend to gravitate towards mentally stimulating media where I can learn something new - and I absolutely did - I actually had to rethink, what I thought I knew. I'd like to play this short clip for you, from the episode, so you can hear Howard in his own words, explain this concept: CLIP Wow, that just makes so much sense to me. And we can clearly see this behavior in our very own industry. Let me give you 3 examples: A company that is no longer in business, yet, had unbelievable pioneering technology. This company was Accuwater. Cool - so that summarizes the first audio clip that I made note of last week. Now, let me let you about the 2nd, similar scenario. Tuesday of this week, while doing an early recovery ride, in preparation for the Iceman mountain bike race happening this weekend, I was listening to the most recent episode of this Tim Ferris show, and his guest, Jim Collins. Jim is famously known for writing the books, Built to Last, and Good to great. In this interview with Jim Collins, he spoke about his new book, Turning The Flywheel, and in this book, there was one quote that I had to write down. This quote nearly mirrored the previous quote from Howard Shultz. Jim referenced another book titled, Will and Vision, by Gerard Tells & Peter Golder. In this book, the author demonstrates that the pioneering innovators in a new business arena almost never, (less than 10% of the time), become the big winners in the end! This statement stopped me in my tracks. Remember how at the beginning of this episode how my previous default thinking was, yes yes yes, to be a pioneer? This turned that upside down. Why would you choose to be a pioneer if the success rate is less than 10%? Again, I had to rethink & unlearn, what I thought I knew. Let's NOT pioneer, as Howard Shultz recommends, let's disrupt! I'll play the quote from Jim Collins for you now. Isn't that incredible? I always considered myself and my personality as a Pioneer, and wore it like a badge of honor. Now, perhaps, I should think of it as a skill set, that can be used as a tool when needed, but it should not be the leading principle.

Vicky Tsai, founder of Japanese beauty brand Tatcha, had a nontraditional path to eventually founding one of the top skincare companies today. About 10 years ago, Vicky decided to leave her thriving career and travel the world in search of happiness and meaning in her life. In her travels, when visiting Kyoto, Japan, Vicky had a life-changing meeting with a Geisha. She learned some of their natural skincare secrets which healed her skin & soul in the truest sense and she wanted to bring the same experience back with her to the US. However, Vicky's success did not come easy. She struggled for years to get the brand off the ground and was over $600,000 in debt at the time. When she started the company, there weren't many direct-to-consumer brands, Asian beauty and skincare wasn't a thing and no one was interested in clean formulas for their skin. Fast forward to today, Tatcha is available in Sephora & QVC and is the second fastest growing women-led company on the Inc 5000 list. And last year, Unilever acquired Tatcha for a reported $500 million dollars. Vicky is passionate about giving back. Since inception, they have partnered with Room to Read in their mission to educate girls globally and have sponsored over 3 million days of school. In this episode, we'll talk to Vicky about: * How 9/11 impacted Vicky's perspective on life's meaning and purpose [4:26]* Vicky shares how she used business school to do introspective work on herself [6:54]* Vicky discusses her career trajectory and why Howard Shultz, CEO of Starbucks, played a big role in her leaving her corporate career [11:23]* Vicky shares how she thinks about social entrepreneurship and using business as a vehicle for social change [16:18]* Vicky describes why Kyoto, Japan made such a big impact in her life & truly healed her from the inside out [18:28]* How Vicky thinks about money, risk & success and key tips she shares with entrepreneurs when starting a business [20:54]* How Vicky sold her engagement ring to buy 10,000 blotting papers and bring Tatcha to life [24:58]* Why Vicky decided to not raise money from investors early-on & the personal sacrifices she made to keep the business afloat [27:20]* What Tatcha looked like in the early days and how she eventually got the product in Sephora & QVC [34:11]* Vicky shares her advice on raising money with institutional investors [45:03]* Vicky describes how she felt when stepping down as CEO and the immense growth the Company saw when she stopped caring about what others think [46:14]* Vicky shares what it was like to sell her company for $500 million dollars and the legacy she wants to leave behind [53:46]Follow Tatcha:* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tatcha * Website: https://www.tatcha.com/Follow Yasmin:* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yasminknouri/* Stay updated & subscribe to our newsletter: https://www.behindherempire.com/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Starbucks Keto Menuhttps://rockthatketo.com/?p=2196&preview=true (https://rockthatketo.com/starbucks-keto-menu) Starbucks Keto Menu is a little bit, well, little, but it is there. In case you are wondering, the name Starbuck was from the novel Moby Dick. Starbuck was the first mate of the ship Pequod. The reason the name has such a literary origin, is that the founders were three literary fans, or maybe nerds we might affectionately call them today. They loved to read books, talk, and most of all drink coffee and tea. The original stores were small with no place to even sit. They sold spices and teas, as well as coffee beans and brewed coffee. Much later they were bought by Howard Shultz who took them to the monster company they are today. He added the coffee drinks, most of which we can’t have, and the foods. That’s why there is even anything to eat there at all. They started in downtown Seattle. But now the joke is, you can’t give directions using the Starbucks because they are on every corner. There are over 500 in Mexico alone. Since they have all kinds of cubbyhole locations in airports and malls, we can’t guarantee every one will have these foods. But here’s what we know. Most of the menu is off limits, as usual. But Starbucks keto menu is just big enough to make a good snack, or small meal, depending on how you look at it. Best Keto Choice at StarbucksProsciutto, hard-boiled egg and white cheddar cheese. Add Iced white tea, unsweetened. Starbucks Low Carb Options for Meats Prosciutto Hard-boiled egg Keto Friendly Cheeses at Starbucks Moon cheese bites Brie cheese Cheddar cheese White cheddar cheese Whisps cheese crisps Cream cheese Low Carb Veggies Red Bell peppers Mixed Nuts Keto Compatible Drinks at StarbucksRev up brewed wellness tea Blonde roast coffee Teavana chai tea Café Americano Blonde café Americano Defense brewed wellness tea Pike place roast coffee Dark roast coffee Heavy cream Mint majesty tea Espresso Cold brewed pike place roast coffee Earl grey tea Royal English breakfast tea Emperor’s clouds & mist tea Comfort brewed wellness tea Iced black tea Iced green tea Iced white tea Starbucks keto menu is small on the foods, but large on the beverages. Still, it’s enough to get you through until you can get a real meal. Anyway, light eating and fasting are only good news for your body. So it works out great either way. Heather Jacks has done it all. She's created a new job to work for Howard Shultz, facilitated wine and bourbon tastings, ferried pigs for a guy, lived in the outback, and slept full-time in a bus named Bubba. Also? She writes travel stories for Fodor's and other outlets, while also keeping a blog. ....and she's modeled. ..and she's been a teacher. ...and....the list goes on, but we're excited today to talk to her about how she's found a way to put together diverse skills and barter her way across the USA. Think you don't have enough money to travel? She'll share tricks she's used and stories from the road on today's wide-ranging (to put it mildly) discussion. LOTS of people are having debt forgiven because of COVID-19, but some are in store for a surprise. We'll share who's showing up with their hand out when you write down debt during our headlines segment. Also, the new Social Security cost of living increase has been announced, and....it's not pretty. We'll talk inflation, the stock market, and setting up your investments to win. Of course we'll also throw out the Haven Life line to a lucky listener and leave some time for Doug to share some of his mind-bending trivia. Enjoy!
However, when launching Tatcha, there were many barriers she faced: Asian skincare wasn’t popular, direct-to-consumer businesses weren’t common, and consumers weren’t interested in clean products. In this episode, we’ll talk to Vicky about: * How 9/11 impacted Vicky’s perspective on life’s meaning and purpose [4:00]* Vicky shares how she used business school to do introspective work on herself [6:28]* Vicky discusses her career trajectory and why Howard Shultz, CEO of Starbucks, played a big role in her leaving her corporate career [10:57]* Vicky shares how she thinks about social entrepreneurship and using business as a vehicle for social change [15:52]* Vicky describes why Kyoto, Japan made such a big impact in her life & truly healed her from the inside out [18:02]* How Vicky things about money, risk & success and key tips she shares with entrepreneurs when starting a business [20:28]* How Vicky sold her engagement ring to buy 10,000 blotting papers and bring Tatcha to life [24:32]* Why Vicky decided to not raise money from investors early-on & the personal sacrifices she made to keep the business afloat [26:54]* What Tatcha looked like in the early days and how she eventually got the product in Sephora & QVC [33:45]* Vicky shares her advice on raising money with institutional investors [44:37]* Vicky describes how she felt when stepping down as CEO and the immense growth the Company saw when she stopped caring about what others think [45:48]* Vicky shares what it was like to sell her company for $500 million dollars and the legacy she wants to leave behind [53:20]Follow Tatcha:* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/tatcha * Website: https://www.tatcha.com/Follow Yasmin:* Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/yasminknouri/* Stay updated & subscribe to our newsletter: https://www.behindherempire.com/ See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
A Study on Starbucks Starbucks started in 1971 and Howard Shultz joined in 1982 with the intent to make Starbucks the 3rd space, somewhere between work and home, but lets be honest, something has gone wrong since Shultz left in 2000. In the 80’s and 90’s you could get a REAL ceramic cup, but you know nothing says stay and enjoy yourself like a paper cup that is too hot to touch. What happened? The chairs are sill there, but they are metal and scrape the floor, the tables are smaller, and the music is louder and well hippier to be honest. Starbucks just isn’t quite that 3rd space it used to be. Tune in and check out latest episode in our mini series on Simon Sinek's Start With Why, a Study on Starbucls. Sometimes the world feels like it's falling apart. This is certainly how it would feel if you ran a company during the 2008 financial crisis. How would a successful CEO turn their company and their brand around? And what can we learn from this story that will help us in our own lives? We look at Onward by Howard Schultz, the story of his return as CEO of Starbucks in order to save the company. He teaches us about loving what we do, holding fast to our core values, and how to bring people along with us.But one book is never enough! Reading different books gives us fresh perspectives, and we can learn new things by combining these books together. I share takeaways from two more books from successful CEOs, and what we can learn when these three perspectives meet in the middle.

Ep 182: Allison reads a Patreon rec about the Righteous Gemstones and asks: Is Jeremy Renner a social experiment? In bad news: Trump, the hurricane, and how fascist regimes must sow confusion, Scarlett Johansson doubles down on being terrible, Walmart takes the grand step of asking customers to please conceal their weapons, and while the founder of one of America's largest conversation therapy programs now says he's gay, conversation therapy programs still exist in 2019 and that's fucked up In good news: Boris Johnson's government has lost its working majority after one of his MPs defected to the Liberal Democrats (his own brother has also resigned in horror at his handling of Brexit), Chanel Miller is a total badass hero, Howard Shultz drops out of the presidential race, and Hong Kong protesters continue to confound police and China with their resistance tactics Light Treason News is supported by members! David Wolf makes a return visit to Today’s Business Leaders to share the direction he is taking his business since he last appeared on the show, how to effectively build a podcast audience, why he decided to give back and more. Playing with Emotions David has long helmed a successful podcast, and he helps others do the same with his business, Podcast & Radio. When building an audience, David explains everything basically comes down to love and hate. Playing on cheap emotions, like fear and hate will trigger people and garner attention. However, this is not an effective long-term plan. Constantly barraging your listeners with fear will burn them out. “How we make people feel,” David explains, “is ultimately more important than what we know and what we do for them.” Bringing people into your environment and sharing the emotional side of the spectrum provides value and converts sales. Conscious Capitalism After listening to Howard Shultz speak, David was inspired to give back. He donates about 10 percent of the revenue from his podcast to RIP Medical Debt. This organization, started by former debt collectors, works to erase medical debt which is a leading cause of bankruptcy for many Americans. After meeting the founder, David was inspired to help, so each month he makes a donation. Giving as little as $100 can clear up to $100,000 in medical debt, making this a worthwhile way to do some social good. Through this endeavor, David has figured out how to engineer conscious capitalism into his business. He is finding a balance between doing good and having a positive impact while also using his actions as a marketing technique. Taking Things to the Next Level In the last 6-8 months, David has experienced a conscious shift in his business. He is pulling back from the day-to-day work in order to grow his business. This is hard because his personal service is part of what makes his business unique. David still finds delegating a challenge, even though he has a solid team. However, he is learning as he progresses through this transition and has faith that he is working with the right people. Kara's Cupcakes is the vision of executive pastry chef, Kara Haspel Lind. A somewhat rebellious child, Kara's sweet tooth is almost legendary in her family. The daughter of a dentist, Kara's love for sweet treats was discouraged by her parents. She learned early in childhood to hide candy and other sweets throughout her family home. This appreciation of sweets is among Kara's earliest and strongest memories. As an advertising sales executive and passionate home baker, Kara realized the importance of following her dreams and enrolled in Tante Marie pastry school. With the goal of furthering her baking skill set, she diligently embraced this program. A small word of mouth cupcake catering business soon was born. It quickly became so popular that demand for her cupcakes exceeded her ability to fill the orders. Before long, the first Kara's Cupcakes bakery and retail store opened in San Francisco, followed by a retail outlet in historic Ghirardelli Square. Today, a mom and entrepreneur with eight busy bakeries selling her famous cupcakes, Kara can still be found most mornings working in the kitchen with her dedicated pastry staff. She visits the farmers markets regularly, looking for inspiration, and sourcing seasonal items for upcoming cupcakes flavors. Thankfully, as the owner of a cupcake bakery she no longer needs to hide sweets, preferring to share her new finds. Since 2006, Kara’s Cupcakes has continued its focus not only on its local and sustainable business and baking practices, but also ongoing philanthropy donating over $1.5 million to the community and local charities. Last year, the company gave away more than 350,000 cupcakes to feed the needy and over $25K to local charities for schools, non-profit organizations, etc. The company’s sustainable focus and green practices led to its most recent award for "Beyond the Check - Community Partnership in Sustainability" by the San Francisco Business Times. On Today's show Kara will share: - What are your top 3 business tips for aspiring entrepreneurs Educate yourself on the market you are interested in pursuing and become an expert. Create a business mission that will guide and inspire you as the business grows/changes. Start small, know your audience and stay focused. It is a marathon not a race. - What has been your biggest business mistake Not listening to my intuition. - What do you think is the difference between people who talk about starting businesses and those who actually do it Are you fear based or not? You have to be willing to take a chance, follow your passion, create a mission for your business and let go of the fear…just do it. If you fail, there is always something else to do. I followed my intuition on starting my own business. I used my marketing background, my appreciation for fashion and my love for sweets to create a cupcake empire based on a community sensibility. Our mission “Making the planet a little sweeter by creating celebratory moments with each cupcake we serve” guides us in our business everyday! - What has been greatest business decision you made that changed everything for the better One of the greatest decision was leaving my job at Conde Nast and committing full time to expanding Kara’s Cupcakes.
