His podcast brings together current service members and veteran high performers to share their methods, strategies, and ideas delivered in an informative way and, most importantly, actionable ways that will help you lead yourself and those around you better from the battlefield to the boardroom. In his write up for my Interview, he shared: "6ers, in a culture where there is often an expectation to choose one career path or focus on a singular passion, you can dare to be a trailblazer. The reality is that many people have multiple interests and are actually capable of pursuing them. You will learn about the importance of prioritizing things that bring joy in life, even if they are a bit unconventional and not in line with society's expectations. You only have this one life so if something no longer fills your cup, you're allowed to turn your back on it and pursue something that aligns with your passions. Kellie's journey is a testament to how it's possible to navigate different paths and how there is a place for multi-passionate individuals to be successful. It is time that we become more open, celebrate individuality, even if in a rigid environment like the army, and encourage the people behind us to explore their unique talents and interests." 01:14 - When something brings you joy, you prioritize it whatever that looks like 02:54 - Turning away from something that no longer fills your cup 06:03 - First experience with cyberbullying as a Naval officer joining a beauty pageant 09:27 - Kellie shares a candid moment 14:20 - Finding people and connecting them together 16:25 - How Kellie figured out how to pay for college and decided to join the track and field team 18:44 - A “What-If” mindset that challenged her to pursue the different things that bring her joy 20:54 - How Kellie hustled to get into the HR community in the Navy 25:32 - You will still mess up but just keep picking yourself up ----- Connect with Got Your Six podcast: Website Instagram LinkedIn Twitter TikTok ----- Connect with Tony: Website LinkedIn Instagram Twitter ————————————————- Follow @missunderstood.podcast + @kellie.sbrocchi on Instagram for episode updates + more. Fact: the older you get, the harder it becomes to make + sustain quality friendships. As an adult, you're less likely to find yourself in social situations which naturally invite opportunities to cultivate new relationships. In this episode, I bring (personal bff!) Cassie Collins on to discuss how we not only connected as adults but became best friends through shared experiences, goals, persistently, + intention. Cassie + I met through our now husbands when we were only 26; four years later + we've cheered on each others careers, milestones, grown even closer as long distance friends, + recently were in each others weddings. As career-oriented women with a heart for putting others first, we instantly connected based on similar values + experiences the same seasons of life together. Do you feel like your Active-Duty service in the military is keeping you from pursing outside passions? Do you feel like your goals have an expiration date and that your service in the military is getting in the way of personal goals outside of your career? Well, STOP feeling that way and START changing your mindset--we're teaching you how. I'm approached by so many of you amazing listeners + followers (love you guys, btw!!) who want to pursue personal goals while also serving Active-Duty and have a passion to #doBoth. Whether you're trying to attack fitness goals, an Esty hobby, or acting on the side, there are small steps you can start making every day as well as milestones in your career to hit as your work toward these outside goals, but it starts with patience, intention, and determination. In this episode, I'm sitting down with Arabia Shanklin, Naval Officer and Actress, who is an expert at balancing both her service to country and professional acting career. We both speak candidly how we prioritized our careers first but kept our personal goals within reach along the way. We are digging into tips as to how you can, too, balance both your career in service and patiently pursue your personal goals and hobbies. Grab your notebooks, as multi-passionate women we have a lot to share about our trial, errors, and successes along the way. SEASON 4 PREMIERE!! I recorded this premiere THREE times (not kidding) waiting for the right words to be placed on my heart + into your ears. At first, I designed this premiere ep. as a “rumor tell-all” where I addressed the rumors + assumptions that are made about me + why that makes me the queen of being #missunderstood. Then I reflected + realized — I didn't create this platform to defend myself, I created this platform to uplift + inspire and know I can teach each of you why being misunderstood is actually GOOD. Who cares about the rumors? Who cares who they're being told by? Here's WHY rumors are a good thing to help you GROW (that's right). I am setting the record explaining why being #MissUnderstood is a freaking SUPER POWER. In this episode, I update you on what's being going on since you last heard from me, “How do you” Q&A, + why MissUnderstood is a superpower: + it causes reflection + really helps you embrace your purpose + builds resiliency As well as It's not a bad thing to be so misunderstood because it's all working together to build a better YOU. I am so honored + thrilled to be here. This podcast + Miss-family mean the world to me. BONUS EPISODE!! I was recently featured on Teresa Carpenter's YouTube show & was so impacted by her powerful interview & this transparent conversation. A US Navy Commander, Public Affairs Officer, Podcaster, and friend, Theresa has become a tremendous mentor for me as I build my platform on the social media space. We connected through IG 2+ years ago as I was just started to begin my social media account, through her support and direction I've continued to build this community of female empowerment online + watched hers grow as well. She featured me on her channel, "SOS" or "Stories of Service" where I (very transparently) discuss what happened, what's going on now, and what's next in my life. I dive into: + My initial "failure" as an Ensign when I did not obtain my SWO pin and how that effected me as a young Junior Officer and to this day. + Do I feel lonely? + How do I manage the naysayers? + Why did I deactivate my Navy Recruiting IG account @lieutenanthall? + My journey on social media and how it started and WHY I continue it. Tune in to hear it all. Grateful Teresa shared my story & hope this can provide a dose of inspiration to you all. ----------------------------------------------- Theresa's episode link + write up, here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCZpPxdUbCs "I was so impressed by [Kellie's] work ethic and ability to succeed in so many arenas I knew I wanted her back on for a more in-depth conversation on how she became one of the leading public figures serving in the military and sharing her story. Grab your mugs -- it's time to sip some wedding TEA!! I have been waiting to release a post-wedding episode because I wanted to analyze, assess, and see if any of my initial feelings about the wedding would change overtime--they didn't. I am a very type-A, organized person (you're shocked, I know) so I planned for just about everything I could think of before the wedding. I took advice, asked every couple I knew what they loved or regretted, I read so many blogs, and I STILL had a few things I ultimately regret doing or not doing. In this episode, I want to help out my fellow Brides, Bride-to-Be's, Maid of Honor's, Mom's, future Brides etc. with a few ideas and regrets about my wedding day. Tune in to hear some DETAILS and inside scoop on our day.

“I don't have time” or “you can't possibly do it all” — I hear these excuses often when others talk about why they aren't pursuing their passions or interests. I have always refused to accept these as fact, even since I was a kid. I am who I am because I am not afraid to dive into my interests, learn from new experiences, prioritize my passions, + make time for a life outside of my military career. This week on @missunderstood.podcast I'm sharing how I #DOBOTH, how I prioritize my multi-passionate lifestyle while still maintaining sustained superior performance in my career. NEWSFLASH: you CAN do Both! Time + time again, I am approached by so many incredible service members online who are fighting to the stigma that claims you should NOT have passions while serving active-duty. I fervently believe that hobbies + passions outside your role in the military not only makes you a better leader but a better human (which ultimately makes you a better service members altogether). Dr. Corinne Devin agrees + is on this episode describing in DETAIL how she has built an incredible career in the #navy while still being a multi-passionate woman. Dr. Corinne Devin is a triple crown holding beauty queen and a U. S. Naval officer. She is a Navy Commander, orthodontist, and public speaker with a passion for volunteering. Currently stationed in Japan, Corinne is returning to California upon concluding her active duty in 2023. While in residency, Corinne competed and won the title Ms. Texas, then after graduating won Ms. United States 2012, internationally won Ms. Galaxy 2014, Ms. Earth 2018 and International Ms. 2020. She continued to balance her two passions, serving as the keynote speaker at the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Conference to over 1,000 middle school girls for the Department of Defense in Japan and Italy. She believes that being well rounded in a multitude of areas can inspire, motivate, and place the seed of determination into our youth and their peers. That's a wrap 2021!! That's right, it's time for another Finale of MissUnderstood + I'm wrapping up Season 2! It's hard to believe it's already time tof finish up another series + prepare for another. I call 2021 the year of the unexpected: I had a unexpected move across the country, career change, build a life in a new city, was challenged both personally + professionally, + grew from it all. It truly was 12 months of the unexpected, with new challenges every week, but looking back became one of the most transformative years of my adult life. In this episode, I'm breaking down how you'll grow for the unexpected too, how to handle it, and why change can be the best thing for you in these 5 steps: 1. Do the Scary Thing 2. Why Humility will make you Better 3. Remember your Purpose 4. Grow through what you GO through 5. Set Boundaries for yourself as you Continue to Build the life you Want! At first, I was disappointed that season 2 only 15 new episodes of @missunderstood.podcast, but when I reflected on the year I just had, I'm dang proud of my focus + ability to continue balancing both. Even if it does mean 15 new episodes instead of 50. Here's to a BIG year ahead and a BIG year behind me. I can't wait to see you guys in 2022 + continue sharing this journey with you! Do you often get frustrated when you measure you body? Do you find yourself in between sizes? Do you feel underrepresented in magazines or online? This is exactly what we're attacking today: learning to embrace the skin you're in + set aside societal standards. I first met Professional model Brittany Carel during the Sports Illustrated online swim search + instantly felt drawn to her body positivity, confidence, + transparency. She explains how she battled a series of scrutiny in the start of her career to be “smaller” or to tape at a specific size in order to “get serious work” in the industry. She later embraced her body, representing a size that's in between industry size zero + curve. In today's episode, she's teaching you how to not listen to the criticism of others + find happiness in your own skin while still chasing your dreams. // Want to know more about Brittany, here's her background “Hi I'm Brittany, 25 from South Fl now living here in LA.
