In the latest episode of Rewind of the Living Dead, we're going to surrender our cell phones and crank up the Alfred Moretti as we review the 2025 film “Opus”… Music courtesy of Andrew Scott Bell and Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio For more Rewind of the Living Dead, visit our website or follow on social media:https://www.rewindofthelivingdead.com/Twitter: https://twitter.com/rewindofdeadFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/rewindoflivingdeadInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/rewindoflivingdead/
It's a Pi Day miracle: We recorded these reviews in the same place at the same time for the first time in a long time. Five years, to be exact. And it was so nice to be together again at Alonso's apartment on this rainy day in LA. We begin with "The Electric State," an empty, ugly, $320 million action extravaganza from longtime MCU directors Anthony and Joe Russo. It's a retro-futuristic, post-apocalyptic story set in the '90s, after humans and robots have gone to war. The ridiculous cast includes Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, Anthony Mackie, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, Ke Huy Quan and Woody Harrelson as Mr. Peanut. Yes, you read that right. Streaming now on Netflix. We were also disappointed with "Opus," about a legendary pop star who invites a group of journalists to his remote retreat to listen to his first album in three decades. It's an A24 horror movie, and it feels awfully familiar. It also features an impressive cast including Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis and Amber Midthunder. In theaters now. And over at our Patreon, we recap the latest episode of "Daredevil: Born Again" on Disney+. Thanks for sharing some of your time with us -- we'll try to do this in person again soon! Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes Last Wednesday morning, Marvel Television treated fans to the long awaited first official teaser trailer for Daredevil: Born Again. The trailer was met with universal praise for its dark tone and brutal depictions of violence, elements that it shares with the beloved Netflix series. The nine-episode first season premieres March 4 on Disney Plus. In some Captain America news, it was confirmed that Brave New World will have a total runtime of one hour and 58 minutes, which ties it with Ant-Man & The Wasp as the seventh shortest MCU flick to date. It will also be the first Captain America film under two hours long. It's brand new news today, Ryan Gosling is in negotiations to star in Shawn Levy's future Star Wars film. Levy's film has been in development with Lucasfilm since 2022, and getting Gosling seems like it could be a major step in getting the film truly off the ground and into the galaxy far, far away. Last we knew, the film was not to be set within the Skywalker saga The use of AI has been a frequent hot topic for Hollywood in recent years, reaching a seeming fever pitch during the 2023 WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes as a major point of negotiation. While the dust seemed to have settled a bit with the resolution of those strikes, new controversies plaguing high profile films and filmmakers have brought the discussion back to the forefront. First, Taxi Driver writer and First Reformed director, Paul Schrader, opined, in a since much lambasted Facebook post, the benefits of using a platform like ChatGPT for film ideas, in contrast to waiting the months it can take writers to ideate. Elsewhere, awards season favorite and Oscar hopeful, The Brutalist, has come under fire after an editor revealed generative A.I. was used to enhance the authenticity of the lead performers Hungarian accents. Emily Beecham and David Krumholtz have signed on to Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, portraying the parents of Kara Zor-El. Production on the DC Studios film commenced last week. Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Until Dawn,” the live-action adaptation of the popular 2015 PlayStation horror game. The film is currently set to be released on April 25th. After nearly 15 years of shaping Spider-Man's adventures at Marvel Comics, Eisner Award winner Dan Slott is making the move to DC. The acclaimed writer will make his DC debut on Superman Unlimited, a new monthly series featuring art by American Vampire co-creator Rafael Albuquerque. Westworld star Thandiwe Newton and Silo's Steve Zahn have joined Paul Rudd and Jack Black in Columbia's comedy reboot of Anaconda. Nintendo has revealed its Switch 2 console with first look images and a teaser trailer, confirming a 2025 release. Uma Thurman has joined the cast of Dexter series Dexter: Resurrection and will star alongside Michael C. Hall. Filmmaker David Lynch, who created celebrated counterculture classics like Blue Velvet, Mulholland Drive, and co-created Twin Peaks, has died at 78. A24 and Picturestart are teaming with director Charlie Polinger for a revisionist and darkly comedic take on The Masque of The Red Death, based on the short story of the same name by Edgar Allen Poe. Sydney Sweeney is currently in negotiations to star. After extensive negotiations, IMAX has secured a deal to exclusively screen Greta Gerwig's Netflix adaptation of "Narnia" in theaters worldwide for two weeks, beginning Thanksgiving 2026, before its streaming debut that Christmas. Joel McHale has joined the cast of Scream 7 and will play Mark Evans, the husband to Neve Campbell's Sidney Prescott. A24 has released the first trailer for upcoming horror film Opus, which hits theaters on March 14th. The film stars Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Murray Bartlett, Juliette Lewis, and Amber Midthunder.

Happy Valentine's Day, lovely listeners! We love you over here at the pod, so we wanted to give you a gift on this day of love - it's our discussion about episode 3 of The Last of Us, "Long, Long Time." Like everyone else, we LOVED this episode. We revisit our thoughts on the outbreak origin story after receiving additional context via Joel. We also chat about all of the times in the pilot where Joel and Sarah narrowly missed getting exposed to the tainted grain supply. We then get into all things Bill and Frank. We talk about their storyline in the show and note some major changes from the game - all of which we thought were great. We talk about Bill's final words to Joel and what that means for his dynamic with Ellie going forward. There were a few moments in which the characters were hustling backwards, so we note those. As always, the discussion closes with the thirst segment and I ask Candi which celebrity crush she would like to have as the Bill to her Frank during apocalyptic times. Thanks for listening! Friendly reminder - we drink, we know things, we use adult language, and we have a really good time. Our biweekly coverage of HBO's "The Last of Us" continues, as we discuss episodes 2 and 3 of the first season of the hit show. We review the rollicking, streamlined shocker of "Infected," and the very much talked about "Long Long Time," which features the biggest deviation from the game so far.
This week we couldn't resist discussing the most talked about episode of tv this week: episode 3 of The Last of Us. Sure, we didn't get enough of daddy Pedro, but what we did get was big, burly, hairy, bearded, hot monkey sex between Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett. Thank you so much HBO for giving us everything we need!!!! Once we unpack the most heart wrenching 90 minutes of tv we dive into Miami housewives. Zach talks about his love of all housewives luncheons and I go into my theories about Lenny's duplicitous behavior and uncover a plot to save Lisa's life. All that and so much more on this week's Mummy Dearest! Support the show
PRODUCTION NOTE: Our name has changed but our levels of delusion and derangement have not! Lit By Moonlightis now Normal About It - where we're anything but! How's everyone doing this week? You okay? Have you cried yourself out yet? We sure haven't! Just when we think we have a grip on where this story is going, HBO's The Last of Us pulls the rug right out from under us and laughs as we watch yet another heart-wrenching storyline play out. This week, we discuss the incredible writing and story expansion of Bill and Frank, how hope and fear can coexist, finding your purpose in the darkest of times, and the show's love of introducing us to a character we get attached to only for them to swiftly be taken away from us by the end of the episode. Help! We're also wondering where Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett's Emmys are and whether or not Ellie would have enjoyed the Great Fish Debacle of 2018! Extra! Listen to Emberlin's Bill & Frank Playlist to Help Cope with the Heartache “I think, as a species, we have a desire to believe that we're living at the climax of the story. IT's a kind of narcissism. We want to believe that we're uniquely important, that we're living at the end of history, that now, after all these millenia of false alarms, now is finally the worst that it's ever been, that finally we have reached the end of the world... But all of this raises an interesting question... What if it always is the end of the world?”-Emily St. John, The Sea of Tranquility Reviews of The Last of Us drop every Tuesday! There are "unbelievable stories", then there's the tale they're telling with Welcome To Chippendales, the latest Hulu drama to make its way over to the UK and land on Disney+ (alongside Welcome To Wrexham and, um, the Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers movie), inspired by a book that says a lot just in the title: 'Deadly Dance: The Chippendales Murders'. Best to say not too much more, eh? But! Kumail Nanjiani and Murray Bartlett play the two key figures in the incredible tale of how the all-male dancing revue took over the world, and how good ol' power does so love to corrupt.
