(00:00-24:49) – Query & Company opens on a Thursday with Jimmy Cook and producer Eddie Garrison sharing their thoughts on the Indiana Pacers defeating the Boston Celtics in overtime last night. They admit how happy they were for Bennedict Mathurin last night with him taking advantage of the extra minutes available with Andrew Nembhard dealing with knee tendonitis. (24:49-38:08) – Yesterday, multiple Colts players met with the media for the first time since the announcement of Joe Flacco being the starting quarterback moving forward for Indianapolis. Jimmy and Eddie react to the Josh Downs comment about Flacco being 40 years old and Richardson being 22 years old because it can be connected to something Shane Steichen said yesterday. (38:08-51:09) – Hour number one concludes with Jimmy and Eddie discussing the Indiana Pacers win over the Boston Celtics and have a conversation about Jarace Walker. Jimmy points out some comments that Jake has made, but Eddie provides his thoughts on how the Pacers aren't giving him a fair shake right now. (51:09-1:17:13) – Tony East from Locked On Pacers joins Query & Company with Jimmy Cook to share some of his thoughts on the Indiana Pacers defeating the Boston Celtics last night, evaluate where things are at right now for the Pacers offense after some struggles in the first four games, assesses Bennedict Mathurin's performance, and acknowledges that the Pacers still could be in the top half of the Eastern Conference if they can stay around .500 during his difficult early part of the season against some of the better teams in the NBA. (1:17:13-1:27:43) – Following his conversation with Tony East, Jimmy and Eddie shift their conversation towards the Minnesota Vikings. Eddie lays out how the Detroit Lions and the Las Angeles Rams were able to defeat Minnesota the last two weeks and some additions the Vikings are getting this week. (1:27:43-1:38:54) – The Athletic's Alec Lewis joins Jimmy Cook to round of the final segment of the second hour of the program to explain how big it is for Minnesota to get T.J. Hockenson back this week, evaluates the chances of Cam Robinson starting this weekend at left tackle after being acquired from Jacksonville earlier this week, admits that he has concerns still about the Vikings defense even though they looked great through five weeks, and what has led to Sam Darnold's career revitalization. (1:38:54-2:04:31) – Thor Nystrom from Fantasy Life joins Query & Company and starts his conversation with Jimmy Cook preview Colts/Vikings with Minnesota being his favorite NFL team. Additionally, they examine the likelihood of Indiana making the College Football Playoff with one loss, what're the odds of making it if they lose two games, believes that Notre Dame will make the CFP if they don't lose again this season, and believes that Kurtis Rourke has improved his NFL draft stock with the way he has performed this season underneath Curt Cignetti.   (2:04:31-2:22:44) – Radio voice of the Indianapolis Colts, Matt Taylor, joins Query & Company to preview this week's game against the Minnesota Vikings with Jimmy Cook. Their conversation starts with Matt providing the former player look on the Anthony Richardson benching, explains how big of a loss Bernhard Raimann could be if he doesn't clear concussion protocol this week, and then evaluates the rest of the season for the Colts with Joe Flacco quarterbacking. Today, it's the matchup between Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig and Indianapolis Colts left tackle Bernhard Raimann. Herbig is going to start in place of injured right outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, and there doesn't appear to be a big drop-off in their respective pass-rush abilities. But the bigger Highsmith is better suited to deal with the ground game, and this Colts offensive line tore the Steelers up in a victory in Lucas Oil Stadium last December. (00:00 - 26:08) - Beautiful day to start off this episode of Query & Company. Jake finally had someone announce that they are "part of the company" at the gym yesterday. NFL teams that are built around one player and the expectations for the Indianapolis Colts moving forward. Aaron Rodgers season ending injury moves the Jets out of championship contention. Their back-up Zack Wilson has some slight Johnny Manziel vibes. Could the Colts be too comfortable letting Richardson get tackled due to his size? The Colts are too easy to defend with their current offensive set-up. Jake's open invitation to a specific listener to talk about whatever topic they want. (26:09 - 39:40) - Caller wants to talk JK Dobbins injury. Jake goes down a list of players who tried to continue after an Achillies injury with various levels of success. The second caller believes that Steichen made the wrong calls at the end of the game.   (39:41 - 43:15) - Touch and go segment on another caller's question, do any of the hosts have a shirt in their closet with an inside joke? (43:16 - 1:07:11) - Randy Muller former NFL General Manager, and now a podcast host and columnist with The Athletic joins the program. Jake wants to know Muller's first impression of Anthony Richardson now that week 1 is in the books. Points per game is way down early in the season. Did Muller ever look at any of his teams and think it was a bad roster? Muller sees talent in Richardson, just hasn't found the right skill set to excel in the NFL yet. He believes that a quarterback needs time to develop from the bench before he gets control of an offense, citing Jordan Love who say in Green Bay for roughly 3-4 years behind Aaron Rodgers. (1:07:12 - 1:25:02) - Talk about where you would relocate an NFL team to and what their name would be. If you would rename any of the Indianapolis teams. Are the Colts in a position where they need to start scrambling for a running back. A caller asks if you'd rather overpay for Jonathan Taylor to help Richardon's, or trade him for an elite receiver. Another caller modifies one of the relocation suggestions. (1:25:03 - 1:27:51) - Touch and go with one caller who supports the Sam's NFL relocation team. (1:27:52 - 1:57:00) - Stephen Holder calls in to the show to talk Colts. Jake immediately asks Holder if Shane Steichen will make any changes to the running game to support Richardson. Holder says that until the Colts run game is solved defenses will continue to just play deep and limit Richardson's passing yards. Did the Colts manage to escape week 1 without any major injuries? Bernhard Raimann is growing at a good rate year over year. Holder talks more about the running back situation around the league and who the Colts might be able to target. Where else can Steichen and the Colts improve heading into week 2? Holder believes that dynamic play from skill positions is needed. (1:57:01 - 2:01:53) - Tyrese Haliburton's performance in the FIBA World Championships made him look really good. It was slightly disappointing to see Team USA lose, but it may rejuvenate players in the future according to Jimmy. (2:01:54 - 2:05:26) - JCook's plays of the day. A final caller talks Colts. Some JMV banter between the shows.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
