To kick off Pride Month we have a treat for you: a BONUS LIVE EPISODE of Problematic Fave! In this special episode, we travel to SeriesFest in Denver, Colorado where Problematic Fave host Dino-Ray Ramos moderated a special RuPaul's Drag Race conversation with local Denver drag queens Geo Conjure, Sexy Sadie, and Electra Dupri as well as Keith Garcia, artistic director of the Sie FilmCenter at Denver Film -- who is also a "drag mentor" of sorts, having worked with Drag Race winners Yvie Oddly (season 11) and Willow Pill (season 14). We don't follow the usual format of Problematic Fave. Instead, after the queens performed (it was an incredible a show!), we watched a preview of RuPaul's Drag Race All-Stars season 8. We then chatted about the impact of Drag Race on the queens' lives and we addressed the current landscape of anti-drag, anti-trans, and anti-queer legislation that is spreading across the country. They also told us a little bit about the amazing drag talent in the Denver and what makes the local scene so sickening. === Problematic Fave is presented by DIASPORA and is created, hosted and produced by Dino-Ray Ramos. She dazzled the judges all season with her Victorian baby doll style, and now Denver's own Willow Pill has made it to the finale of “RuPaul's Drag Race.” If she wins, Willow would become the second Drag Superstar hailing from the Mile High City. Her mentor, friend, and fellow oddball Yvie Oddly won in 2019. But Willow has been dreaming of Drag Race success for longer than that, since she was a baby queen at Colorado State University. Bree sat down with Willow ahead of Friday night's finale to talk about her experience on the show, how it's helped her discover new things about her gender identity, and why Denver's drag scene keeps producing these weirdo, eccentric queens. On this week's Nuance, we dive into Yvie and Silky's battle of principles (complete with a non-sequitur of a dress reveal), how important it is or isn't to know pop culture references, which diva we could host a televised prayer circle for, and who deserves to be awarded. this week's Best Supporting Actress. Do you smell Oscar buzz from this week's double feature acting challenge? Yeah, neither do we, but People's Choice Awards for sure to Nina West, Plastique Tiara, Shuga Cane, and of course this week's Best Actresses — a tie on Drag Race, can you imagine?! — Yvie Oddly and Scarlet Envy. We're then seeing stars on the runway with astrologically inspired couture, but it's just not in the cards for Kahanna this week once Mercedes finally revs into high gear in the lip sync. The wait is over, Mary's! The Season 11 premiere is teeming with queens new and old—as well as a refreshingly re-engaged RuPaul. Vanjie is gunning for Narrator from the start—but we're not mad at it, Mary! We're also living for Canada's Brooke Lynn, and are bringing our sweet tooth (sweet teeth?) for this season's pizza queen. And then there's Hurricane Silky, a cavalcade of Davenports, some serious BDE from Yvie Oddly, and the potential cast for All Stars 5 in the photo shoot.
